I've been using this steadily for two years now and it has been very excellent and reliable. Minor cons - high contrast marking would be better on the inner pot, and setting the timer is not intuitive. But i use it only for rice, tho it does do other things, and the rice always comes out perfect so that's what counts. Dec. 2018 Still going strong, and now i finally used the slow cook function and that too worked perfectly.

This is an excellent rice cooker that will cook your rice to perfection every time. It has multiple different settings for white/brown/mixed rice, steaming, slow cooking, etc. Also very helpful for the American model that it has dual English/Korean buttons. For new users worried about negative reviews of starchy liquid 'gunk' being left behind on your kitchen counter: I had the same problem the first couple times I used this rice cooker, but it seems to resolve itself after a few uses and may just need a breaking in. I actually had this exact same rice cooker model when I lived in South Korea for three years, and I loved it so much I instantly bought it upon moving back to the States. Gave my old one to the in-laws, and it is still going strong in their kitchen 5 years after the purchase!

Excellent cooker and rice actually tastes different. This is my first Cuckoo and I have permanently switched from Zojirushi and Tiger. I was wary of the pink color but it has a masculine touch to it. The picture is representative of the color. This model does not have the voice announcer. Rice tastes great after 72 hours in 'keep warm' mode.

There are many options is the rice cooking land, and this is the best I’ve had in the price range. Actually better than half 2-3x as much. This cooker keeps rice hot for 48-70h although you shouldn’t keep rice heated past 12h. It does all sorts of other things but I only got it for rice. It’s specific, glutinous/wheat/porridge etc and it also has a “turbo” cook and cooks rice in 10-20 minutes. Love this! It’s a Korean made device.

I really appreciate the thoughtful engineering in this rice cooker, particularly the stream collection cup in the back. The top plate on the lid comes off and goes on pretty easily, and is no trouble to clean. I'm also pleased with the heavy weight of the cooking bowl, which no doubt assists in even coming of the rice. The reheat function is quick and effective, and I particularly appreciate the time cook function, which guarantees my rice will be done exactly when I need it. The insulation is very good, compared to other rice cookers I've used, which keeps the outside surfaces only slightly warm to the touch when it's in use. Even in warm mode, which I use frequently over Shabbat, it doesn't dry the rice out as much as my previous rice cookers. Although I have this rice cooker five stars because it cook fantastic rice, there are a couple of minor things that you might consider before buying this rice cooker. First, if you aren't familiar with rice cookers, or are not a terribly technical person, it's worth mentioning that the instructions aren't necessarily intuitive, and the English instructions for using the rice cooker are translated (sometimes badly) from Korean. There are many excruciatingly complicated aspects to the rice cooking that you can control, but for most people, simply pressing the "cook" button will work just fine. It in no way interferes with the functionality of the rice cooker, nor the event results, though. Also, in a perfect world, I'd have loved for this rice cooker to have a steamer basket. Unfortunately, you'll have to but one of these on your own, if you're interested in doing any streaming, and to my knowledge, the company does not offer one for sale. Since these things aren't really "standard" sizes, a silicone one might be the best option. Overall though, speaking as an Asian person who takes rice very seriously, I think this is a great rice cooker for the money, especially if you keep a busy schedule and will utilize all the timing functions.

What a wonderful little rice cooker...moving down from a 10 cup Tiger unit to this cute guy made for more counter space, better tasting & textured 5 grain rice. the first pot was a joint effort, my wife prepared the mixture and set the type/style setting and asked me to plug it in and start the process. We both enjoyed excellent cooked rice and at a quantity that makes more sense.

The removable cooking bowl is easy to clean and the non-stick part does not flake off in the same manner as some of the Zoojirushi bowls of comparable size. I'm a little surprised that the gradation markings inside the bowl are not as precise when differentiating between regular white rice and brown rice. Here in Denver, the boiling temperature is slightly lower than at sea level, so we *must* add a bit more water, else the cooked rice is dryer/harder than expected. My sweet rice comes out perfect every time!

Folks, I have been using the old fashioned single button rice cookers my whole life. And not one of those measures up to this rice cooker. This appliance is superior in every way to a conventional rice cooker. Does a better job of cooking rice, does it faster, super easy clean up, will keep rice warm for 24 hours! Would go longer but geez, 24 hours is terrific! Really very satisfied with this purchase. Exceeded my expectations!

I had a really cheaply made crappy rice cooker a long time ago that was disappointing. We cook a lot of rice, though, and it's just not the same on the stove, so I read a ton of reviews and decided to give this little Cuckoo a try. We LOVE it. So easy, keeps it warm, makes perfect rice every single time. I've made 3 different styles of rice in it so far & all came out perfect. The removable plate & steamer thing make it SO easy to clean too. I'm so happy with this purchase.

It works great. The rice always comes out just right. It's small so it doesn't take up too much space but it's big enough to make several servings at once. We usually get about 10 servings every time we make rice. It's a decent price (not expensive, not cheap) and so far have been very satisfied with it's performance. Perfect for our family of 3. We've used this to cook rice every 2-3 days for almost a year now.
