I resisted buying the 380t because of a critical review here - the writer was upset that his treads wore out after it had cleaned his house after a period of time. Between the lines I realized that he relied on it, so I bought one. It works well if you follow the instructions, and are mindful of placement of the cube. It is quiet and saves a lot of work. For reviewers that complain that it will not clean a spilled milkshake, they do not understand its function. I may buy a second one in lieu of getting the cheaper Brava jet model; seems noisy in the video and specs show it as about half the weight of the 380t: the weight is a factor in its cleaning ability. Also, and very important, is that iRobot advises adding a second cube if you have a larger space. Some reviewers were critical about range and obstacles - both addressed with the second cube. The only problem to date is my AC adapter wire has become frayed... and it is good to read that there are now replacement treads available on Amazon.

If you have hardwood floor, look no further, this thing is a must. I also have a robot vacuum, but this thing is silent and can be run when you are in the room, which is awesome. Now my living room is dust, pet hairs and stain free all week long, with very little effort! If your room is big and the robot loses the signal, purchase another navigation cube and place it properly. See picture attached as an example.

Initially I was disappointed with the results. It doesn't get in there and mop as well as I can being an actual human with an entire bucket of water or more if I want and being able to see spots that need more attention. I almost returned it. I had to change the way I think about cleaning. I was mopping on weekends and I hated it. Then I realized the best way to use the Braava is every night or on a daily basis. It can't clean as good as I can once a week, but it can clean every night while I'm sleeping. This approach helped me appreciate the Braava a lot more. I have some dogness and my weekly clean wasn't exactly staying clean all week. Now it's always cleaned. I still have to spot clean some stuff but my weekends of ripping the house apart and sweeping and mopping everything are over. It's like I have a reset button on the condition of my house that I can just press every night. Anyway that's how you need to look at this device to get the most out of it. It even changes the way I think about cleaning other stuff. I can just dust whenever now because I don't care if i get dust on the floor because the robot will just get it later. I don't have to procedurally clean my house in a marathon from top to bottom in the optimal order anymore. My allergies have improved a lot because my house is always clean instead of clean for a few days. It's also helped my attitude a bit. I don't have to work at it and my house is always clean so It doesn't upset me when dogs or people mess up my floors anymore. It's just worth every penny. The device itself is very quiet. Sometimes it will bump a door or something that will make a little noise but that's it. It gets under pretty much everything. Frankly, it gets under more stuff than I ever did. It charges fast. In about 2 hours it's ready to go again. You need more than just the one pad it comes with. I would recommend at least one pad for every room for every day of the week. A fresh pad is like a new mop. If you only have one pad you'd have to wash it by hand or wait for it in the washer between uses and that is just more work than just mopping stuff yourself. You can't really use it the way it needs to be used with just the single pad it comes with. Also get some dry swiffer pads and wet swiffer pads. The dry pads are quilted and seem like they do a better job than the cloth pads. the wet pads are handy for super quick cleans or stuff you really, really don't want to touch. My one of my rooms is slightly larger than what it states the max range of the mop is but furniture (that it doesn't fit under), cabinets and stuff like that cuts down on the area. I can actually run it twice in that room on a single charge (it will run out of water though). It occasionally gets stuck. it has a slight wedge shape to it. It's not hard to make it avoid problem areas though. place an obstacle in its way or hold down the mop or sweep button to get it into fast mode where it avoids stuff. I think if it was not at all wedge shaped it would avoid a lot of where it gets stuck. It doesn't bother my dogs. It's quiet and they're used to it. Sometimes it will sneak up on them even, bumping them with humorous results. Anyway I really like it. It's probably my favorite thing ever. It gives me a clean floor every night and gave me back a large portion of my weekends. I waited a long time for one with more range and eventually just settled for this one. I didn't need to. When I think back to all the moping I did myself and all the dirt I put up with waiting for the weekend to mop I feel like I wasted a lot of time. I would love an improved model but I'm very happy with this one. Update: I had to replace the battery a couple months ago because mine wasn't charging. I opted for a Powerextra High Capacity one. It was pretty cheap and really increased the range. I'm actually happy that It stopped working because the extra range really speeds stuff up. Also, I tried putting Nature's Miracle Dog Stain and Odor Remover in the mop reservoir because it's enzymatic like the iRobot scuba solution. So far that's working pretty well. I've been doing it for several months and I haven't noticed any of the damage to the tires like people mentioned with Lysol or other products.

I have a large home (3200 square feet) with tile and wood floors throughout, and I have two cats (one with long hair). It needs to be swept and dust mopped every day, and damp mopping was a frequent chore. To wet mop required bringing out my commercial mop and bucket. These things did a decent job, and I was skeptical that the Braava would be able to match it. Then my 85 year old mother came to live with me. She is unable to do much for herself, so a lot of my time is spent caring for her, preparing her meals, doing her laundry, etc. That's when I finally decided to try this. As I said, I was keeping the floors pretty clean, at least sweeping daily. I started with the kitchen as soon as I received the Braava, and I was shocked at how much cat hair and dust it picked up! I ran it a second time, with a new cloth, and it got almost the same amount again!! Then I ran it on mop mode, and my floor looked and felt so much cleaner. Even my family members noticed! I highly recommend it, and I plan to buy a second one soon. I have two small quibbles. I'd really like it to be programmable, like the Roomba. And it won't cross the small raised dividers between floor types (tile to wood). I go pick it up after it finishes one area, such as the kitchen, and manually put it in the next area. It still takes much less time and effort than when I was sweeping and dust mopping every day without it!

We have had this for about a month now and my wife loves it. We have a 2700 sq. ft. home that has all tile. We are able to do the full house with only 3 locations for the cube. We get close to a 1000 sq. ft. of coverage each charge. So far the battery has been very impressive on how long it keeps the Braava going before running out of charge. My only compaint it that the unit does not return to its starting point before shutting down and several times we have had to retreive it from under some furiture when it ran out of power.

I LOVE my iRobot mopping robot! This little robot is efficient and very quiet. I have used it three times and it does an exceptional job. I have only used it as a wet mop. It did come with a dry cloth for dust mopping the floor. I don't believe I will use the dry cloth since I vacuum my floors prior to mopping them. The attachment that holds liquid works well. It does not hold much liquid though. The floors do not get very wet. Which is good, no streaking. The dampness of the terry cloth seems to be sufficient for cleaning my ceramic tile floor. Today I used it on my wood floors and it did a nice job. There was no residual water left on the wood floor. The wood floor felt barely wet after the robot made a pass over the area I checked.

Six months ago we had a cork floor installed in our kitchen. Beautiful. Warm in winter. Cool in summer. Very comfortable to walk or stand on. However, it should be swept daily and damp mopped weekly in order to keep grit from working it's way into it. Well, we didn't even come close to that standard and never would. Sure enough, one day I found myself picking a couple of tiny pieces of plastic out of the floor. (Keep in mind that the cork floor was MY idea fellas. ) So what does a guy do when faced with a problem? He goes looking for a gadget. My solution to my vacuuming son moving out on his own was the Roomba 830 (5 stars) which has an eye for dirt and a tolerance for drudgery that my son never had. So, I started looking at the Braava. Remembering the disaster of the steam cleaner and the Pergo floor, I was afraid of too much water warping the joints where the planks come together. The simpler, cheaper 600 model was safer bet in that regard, but I couldn't imagine that it would stay damp enough for the whole floor (about 150 sq. ft.). I chated with iRobot customer service. She pushed the iJet which sprays and also goes back and forth over stains. She said that you can control the amount of spray with your smartphone. Maybe so, but she didn't hear that Pergo floor squeaking for years. The 380t wicks water out of a small reservoir. I was relieved to see that it didn't use any more water than I did with a sponge mop. As far as sweeping goes, it is a robotic Swiffer. I am amazed at how much grit it picks off the floor daily. Grit that will NOT get embedded in our floor. Swiffing a floor every night is a quick easy job that few of us will actually do consistently. The Braava turns it into a nightly ballet. Just be sure that your cork floors are sealed.

This is a great tool/toy. I had middling expectations, after all, at $200 or so how much should I expect? And on opening the box, it was surprisingly small and plain. But... I have a house with about 1500+ sf of contiguous hardwood floors, with several large oriental rugs as well as couches, chairs and tables. While the space is no big problem to vacuum (Miele Kona, which is great!), mopping sucks. And the hardwood extends into the kitchen, so mopping is essential. I also have 4 bathrooms with tile floors that need regular mopping. The 380t is perfect. It has excellent coverage - over 95%. It is a patient scrubber, going over the same space 3 times with its repetitive motion. It works really well with either the microfiber cloths or with swiffer wet pads. (I bought an extra 10-pack of microfibers, which means I never run out.) It also does an excellent job of staying off the oriental rugs, and cleaning around furniture. I typically fill the fluid container with about 20 squirts of a commercial cleaner like "Fantastik" and top up with water. Seems to do a good enough job getting stuff up. Because my space is too large for the 380t to cover in one go, I start it in a couple different places, and move the cube around. Seems to recharge in an hour or two, so I can pretty much mop everything with a few charges. One of the really nice things is that it is not very tall, so it cleans under couches where the vacuum doesn't fit. This probably isn't a good toy for folks who have a lot of clutter, or many spaces where the 380t is not narrow enough to fit without help. If it can't get somewhere, it won't. Seems durable enough. I accidentally dropped it, with no ill effects. It is also very quiet. If you're not in the same room, you can't tell it's on. As indicated, we don't use the dust feature much. It does a good, fast job of dusting. But we don't need this feature as much.

Product is great for anybody lazy enough to clean their floors. The advantages are, it cleans well, perhaps does not scrub like a human being but room remains clean, smells good and overall it really does the job. It is also quiet, so in contrast to the dust robots, this can be operated while in the home. So definitely worth having it, since we got it we don't really use the mop anymore and clean with this robot mostly and are satisfied with it. There are things which I would consider a disadvantage, or at least worth knowing about them before purchase - there's a bit of maintenance hassle with the solution liquid. You need to put it through a hole, and while doing that it drips from the bottom (as that's the discharge point). So, preferable to do over a sink. Then you need to turn it around wrap the the towel, and put on the machine and then on the floor, so a bit of overhead with the cleaning supplies. Also, you need more than a few cleaning towels as you don't want to start rinsing them in the middle of cleaning a big room ( we have 6 towels). So we wet a new one, and put it on after taking off the dirty one, then rinsing it. So you actually need to be around the machine and monitor what it's doing (unlike the dust robots where you can just leave the house) But overall, a really great product that saves us a lot of headache of cleaning and we are happy with how it works.
