Love this pan!
Amazing pan! It's very large, leaving lots of room for mixing up pots of soup, stew, and pasta dishes. I cook a lot and have been searching for a pot like this for ages. Nothing sticks to it, it heats evenly, and it's a good weight (so as not to be too heavy when it's full and I need to strain pasta). This pot is also not made in China - mine says "Toledo, Ohio" on the bottom. I e-mailed Calphalon Customer Care to confirm that this pan was, in fact, made in the US (it is) and they sent me back a very detailed listing of where all of their different cookware lines are manufactured. Since I love this pan so much, that will come in handy when I add more pieces. If I had to change one thing about this pan, however, I would prefer that the bottom was not smooth. It could use some texture because it's not heavy and seems to want to slide around on the stovetop burners a bit. This is not a huge deal for me, as I make a habit of cooking with my larger pans on the rear burners anyway. But just in case you have little ones at home who like to be around the stovetop when you're cooking.... be aware of that.

This is a perfect pan for my paella
This is a perfect pan for my paella, frying chicken, making roasts etc. The pan was available in a local high end store but you can't beat Amazon's price! Keep the temperature no higher than 450ºF per instructions. I bought this along with the 12 inch sauté pan and the 8.5 quart Dutch Oven. I cook from scratch daily so these were must haves. The quality is outstanding and I do love the contemporary design. This Calphalon series does a great job on browning and sautéing. Use silicon cooking utensils and a softer plastic sponge pad and cool down the pans before cleaning. Although these pans are dishwasher safe, I tend to hand wash them because the cleanup is so fast and easy.

Great pan but it arrived empty so after waiting 3 days to receive it, I still had to make a separate trip to the grocery store before I could cook a meal.

Alternative to a Deep Pot
I purchased this pan for my husband for Christmas 2017. It is a large pan which replaces the use of a deep pot for many dishes. We LOVE it! Heavy weight, nice handles, flat bottom and the coating is superb. This is important to me because he cooks, I clean! Highly recommend this pan to others. I am not a paid reviewer. I purchase merchandise from Amazon on a weekly basis. I wait until I have used the product to form an honest opinion of it before posting a review. I will answer questions unless I feel the seller should respond.

You'll love the extra room
I had a 5 qt sauteuse pan for years and loved it. But the long handle made it difficult to store, and after years of use, the non-stick coating was wearing off. At first I was afraid this 7 qt size might be too big, but it's great. The short handles make storage so much easier, and there's plenty of room to saute and stir a batch of onions, carrots, mushrooms, and peppers without tossing them out the pan. Love it!

I’m very pleased with the updated style of the new units
I’ve been a calphalon loyalist since I got my first set of their pots and pans about 10 years ago. In that time, the original pans have held up to much abuse at the hands of my husband and our housemate. Those jerks dishwasher-ed them, used metal implements on them, and generally did everything wrong regardless of how many times I threatened them. Only in the past year or so had the pots and pans started to become unusuable, so I threw a few out and purchased new. I’m very pleased with the updated style of the new units. This set is great. My old pot was shallow and wide, which made it kinda a pain on holidays when every burner was needed. This pot holds the same volume but it’s taller and narrowe, making it much more friendly for busy cooking days. It arrived quickly and well packed.

Perfect for Eggs…
This Calphalon pan replaces a previous Calphalon pan that was used virtually every day for 16 years. After those 16 years the replaced pan showed no signs of wear but for some reason it lost its no-stick properties after frying up some deer sausage recently. Judging from information on the web 16 years is a long life for a teflon pan. This one will be used exclusively for eggs, which I scramble in olive oil. I use a Calphalon plastic spatula, the same one used for 16 years with the previous Calphalon pan. While this is not strictly speaking an omelet pan it has a nicely radiused transition from the bottom to the sides so it works as an omelet pan very nicely. It also has a ridge at the top of the sides to hold an optional top, which I did not purchase.

The perfect pot.
This is the greatest pot ever forged by human hands and put forth for the betterment of mankind. My mother found one at a Tuesday Morning at an insane price, which she gave to me. I found out later she really loved the pot and parting with it was evidently a sacrifice. I have loved it SO MUCH that I couldn't bring myself to give it back, so my sister and I did some googling, found it here on Amazon, and went halvsies on this one for her for Mother's Day. I can't wait to see her face. It's a Dutch oven. It can actually go from the stovetop to the oven. It's wide and low. I use it mainly to cook soups. Make sure to never use any metal tools, or you'll scratch it. Silicone and wood only. Don't ever cook on the high setting, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for oven use. I only hand wash it. If you do all of that, I think it will probably last you a lifetime. I've never cared about cookware before this pot. I am so in love with it, I've begun collecting this line one piece at a time. I'll never use anything but Calphalon ever again. Superior product.

I tend to pull this one out more often than my stainless steel.
When this first arrived it struck me as being an odd size. It did not nest in with my other pans well in the cupboard either. That being said I really like this pan. The non-stick surface works very well and is easy to clean afterwards. The thing I like best about this is the lid and does a great job of trapping the heat in. It fits on the pot well and being glass it allows me to easily see what is happening in the pot. It is not straight sided like all my other ones. It comes up a little and then flares out. Every time I use it I notice this feature. It does not seem to negatively impact the cooking at all but it does on occasion make scraping the sides cumbersome. The handle is securely attached, comfortable and does not get hot but, the rivets that hold it on securely can get in the way a little and food will stick to them. I never thought I would say this but I tend to pull this one out more often than my stainless steel one now. I waffled between 4 and 5 stars and landed on 5 because my issues were more personal preference than functionality. I hope this review is helpful for you.

It came out looking like a magazine cover
Did a test run of a young turkey. It came out looking like a magazine cover, and tasted perfect also. Cooked a 21.5 lb. turkey in it for Thanksgiving. You might be able to go a little larger, but it was getting close to the limit concerning length. Everything about it was great, (haven't tried the injector yet). I had a variety of root vegetables and aromatics in the pan, nothing stuck.Clean up was very easy. Looking forward to using it again. If I had to change one thing, it would be the handle design. They curve inward. I'm sure there's a reason for that, but when cooking a very large bird like I did, I could have used the 1-2" inches straight handles would have given me. But that is pure preference, so I can't ding them for that.
