This machine is amazing!! I have only used it twice and ...
I order off of Amazon quite often but typically don't write reviews but I just had to for this product. This machine is amazing!! I have only used it twice and both times I was in complete shock as to how absolutely delicious my frozen fruit "ice cream" came out. I love ice cream but don't buy it because of the fat/sugar/calorie content and when I saw this product I had high hopes that this dessert would taste somewhat like ice cream but honestly I did not expect it to be so good. Right from the first bite I was in utter disbelief.....it was EXACTLY like eating ice cream. I only used bananas and strawberries and just can't figure out how using only these two products can make such a rich, creamy dessert. I can't wait to try some of the recipes using different fruits/cocoa powder/peanut butter/coconut, etc. I am guessing you have to use bananas for all/most of the recipes as I believe this is what makes the dessert creamy. If you're not a banana lover then this product is not for you. I am so happy that I can now enjoy an amazing dessert without the guilt. I followed other reviews and took the fruit from the freezer and let it sit 20 minutes before making the ice cream and it was perfect. One thing I can't understand is that some of the reviews for this product say that it's difficult to clean.....this can't be farthest from the truth. It literally took me 45 seconds to clean this. You just disassemble the unit where you put the fruit in by turning it and it comes right off. Then just rinse it, it's as simple as that. If you love ice cream but don't want the calories then this product is for you.....you will not be disappointed!! Definitely five stars!!!

HAPPY, HEALTHY CHOICE - Heck ya!
I love, love, love this machine! I started off with the lower end version Yonanas - model 901. It worked fantastic! Then I upgraded to the Elite model. I'm so glad I did! This heavy duty beast is like a gentle giant. Powerful yet quieter than it's predecessor. Not by much but when listening to them side by side you can really tell the difference- the older model 901 sounds like a small jack hammer compared to the Blender noise the Elite model makes. Both models work amazingly well with the older version having a 200 watt motor & the newer Elite model having a 250 watt motor. Both are 120v. The older model Yonanas is mostly plastic, including the base frame, except for the grinder blades, while the heavier duty Elite model has a solid metal base & just feels well made. Clean up is easy - remove the black chute/grinder cap turning it to the unlock position, turn it over & unscrew the cap, disassemble the clear white opaque gasket & grinder, wash with mild soapy water, rinse well, let dry then put it back together. It's that simple. Clean it right after use or @ the very least let it rinse in soapy water. It will be much easier to clean if you do so asap rather than waiting & allowing the leftover banana/fruit to sit in the machine for any length of time & "glump" up the gasket as well as the grinder. Not a pretty sight. Now for the ice cream, or "N'ice Cream" as health foodies like to call it. To turn out a soft serve "ice cream" base you'll want to use frozen over ripe bananas, (cheetah spotted), that have been thawed for approx 7-12 min as that seems to be the magic number range for thawing banana depending on size. I usually use 1 to1-1/2 medium sized bananas per serving, thawed for approx 6-7 min. This allows me to get the fixins, mixins, bowls, & spoons together. This will make the over all consistency more like "soft serve". Do this before adding your other fruit of choice if soft serve is what your trying to achieve. If you like popcicles or a sorbet consistency then straight frozen fruit, again thawed for several minutes prior to use - mangos/papaya, strawberries or berries of any kind, pineapple, kiwi, dragon fruit, etc work best for making more of an ice crystal consistency. For an even "creamier" consistency when making a soft serve n'ice cream or sorbet, try freezing any nut milk/cream or yogurt flavor of your choice in an ice cube tray & when you get ready to make your dessert - take a couple of cubes, depending on ice cube size & desired consistency, out of the tray & thaw for 5-6 minutes, then alternate inserting your banana/fruit of choice then the cubes, in the chute - personally I like adding unsweetened lite coconut cream. Doesn't add much sweetness but gives a more creamy texture to the end result. You can freeze, then slightly thaw dark/milk or vegan chocolate chips & add them alternately with the banana/fruit for a little extra ump & sweet crunch to your desserts. If you're wanting to add a sweetener to your n'ice cream try adding a few drops of stevia to the grinder & running the Yonanas machine for 4-5 seconds prior to adding your barely thawed, slightly frozen banana/fruit of choice. Or you can add your preferred sweetener - honey, coconut sugar, powdered sugar, etc directly to your finished bowl of n'ice cream. Just stir it in! You can also do the same thing when adding any extract flavoring - 1/4-1/2 teaspoon vanilla, etc, depending on desired taste, to the grinder blade prior to adding bananas/fruit or wait & mix it into the bowl of your n'ice cream directly. I've tried both methods. They both work well when wanting to add flavorings or sweeteners. Just remember, when adding liquid sweeteners or flavoring extracts it's best to add a few drops @ a time on the grinder blade cone so as not to over power the flavor of the banana/fruit. Syrupy sweeteners, i.e. Honey, maple syrup, acai syrup, agave, etc - should always be added directly to your finished bowl of n'ice cream as they will sludge up in the chute & on the blade if poured in directly onto the grinder cone while in their syrupy state & may not blend well. The key to success is to always make sure the food items are 1st frozen then slightly thawed several minutes prior to making your n'ice cream. ALL bananas/fruits, milks/creams/yogurts/puddings/purées/chocolate, etc. If they aren't somewhat slightly frozen when you go to put them in the grinder chute you could end up with a bowl of mush. *For more helpful hints & delicious recipes check out dessertmakerblog.com for some AMAZING n'ice cream recipes ~ You'll be glad you did! Enjoy! *No, I'm not affiliated with the site in any way. I just found it very useful for finding n'ice cream dessert recipes. I've included a picture of the older Yonanas model 901 & the newer Yonanas Elite for comparison. The Elite model is on the left & the older model 901 is on the right. Again, both models work well it's just a matter of how long they will last over time. Both are still working & make great desserts.

Great product!
I bought the less expensive version at Costco and loved it. Then when my daughter-In-law saw it during a recent visit she was so excited with a couple of recipes we tried. I decided to give it to her and buy another one on Amazon when I saw the Elite version for sale. It is much heavier and feels more substantial. I love ice cream and rarely have any. The "desserts" I've made seem close enough to ice cream that I'm satisfied and happy. Fruit is zero points on Weight Watchers. Amazing that zero points can taste this great. Love this machine! It came with a recipe book.

Go Bananas! This is good stuff. Works great and makes delicious treats!
This is a huge hit with my family. We love it and have tried all kinds of combos with different kinds of frozen fruits. It comes out similar to frozen yogurt...but all fruit. Absolutely delicious. The motor is strong (and loud) and grinds up anything we've tossed into it. Easy to take apart and clean. If you had any doubts...don't. This works and the family loves it.

WONDERFUL DESSERT MACHINE!!
This machine makes the most AMAZING FROZEN FRUIT YOGURT!! INSTEAD of thawing the frozen fruit for 10-15 min as instructed by the manual, I just take a bowl of frozen fruit from the freezer and nuke them in the microwave for ~12-15 seconds. No kidding! This dessert is so creamy and delicious that you can't stop at one cup!!! I make a few small twist & loc freezer containers in one setting so I can enjoy this throughout the day. You will not regret purchasing this!!! I LOVE this machine!

Don't believe any naysayers, this thing is great
I was at first hesitant to purchase this because so many people talked about how loud they are. Well maybe that is true with the basic model, but not with the 987 Elite. When you turn it on it is about as quiet as an electric can opener. Then when you put the frozen fruit in it the noise is barely noticeable as well. Overall this thing is super quiet. Now onto the use of it. It can't get any easier. You push your frozen fruit down from the top, and the spinning wheel with the grinding pins does all of the rest. Those pins are not sharp; they don't have to be, so don't even be a little bit concerned when cleaning it. This is a point worth mentioning. Don't burn out your blender making "Nice Cream". A blender has blades that need to be able to chew through a mound of block frozen fruit. A friend with a Vitamix complained that there was a burning smell after making nice cream. So the Yonanas Elite uses a spinning disc that grinds away on the edge of the fruit so when processing there is no ugly noise, and it does it with ease. It should last a really long time. I was using a full sized kitchen counter blender to make NC before. Then I got my Ninja Professional and used that, but either way you have a bunch of leftover material that is near impossible to clear out of the blades, not to mention that you have to add liquid to it just to get it to blend in a blender. Not so with this puppy. It is all pure frozen nice cream. So it is thick, and creamy, and delicious. Add some cocoa powder in the mix, and some strawberries, and frozen pineapple. It turns out like a swirly ice cream cone. It's great. The key thing here is that fruit sugar is dietetic, and cane sugar and fat is fattening. So you are enjoying all of the pleasure, and don't lose another notch on your belt.

Delicious banana desserts
I love making banana ice cream with this! I have not branched into it into other frozen fruits yet, but I have made banana chocolate chip, chocolate (using cocoa powder) mint, and chocolate peanut butter. As you might guess, I love chocolate. My BF really enjoys the "ice cream" as well. With this upgraded model, I have made large batches (up to 10 bananas at a time), so that is can enjoy some right away and freeze some for later.

1st One Disappeared During Shipping
I ordered this during a Texas heatwave. We waited. I was notified that the shipper “lost it”... Ha! You can see what it is on the box. I think someone was enjoying it. Amazon reps were great- they sent another. I have gone Whole Food, Plant Based for health as well as moral reasons. I and my husband are 65. My Cholesterol dropped from 230 to 165 in 10 weeks- with no heart meds. My doctor and his nurse actually thought the first lab tests were a mistake. But they looked at my lab history and saw I was running high. My husband of 25 years was a dyed in the wool Texas meat eater. When we started this journey he announced he would not go Vegan- he’d rather die. It’s no good if I live and he doesn’t. So, I drag him with me. I haven’t cooked meat in three years. I try to find foods he likes. He LOVES the Yonanas Elite. When he wants me to use it, he hints around So cute. I of course am happy to make some for him. I thaw out frozen food of choice for about 15 minutes by spreading it out on a cutting board or plate. If it’s big like Strawberries, I cut them in half. Then, I take out 3 to 4 frozen Bananas. They don’t really need to be thawed out. I coin them. I get four small bowls and a spatula. I turn the machine on- it IS a little noisy. Oh well. I alternately drop one piece of fruit, then one banana coin. It DOES NOT take much strength unlike what some have said- maybe because they are working with whole pieces of fruit that are hard frozen. Every so often I take the “Pusher” and press it down into the shoot. Again, I do it slowly. It doesn’t take much strength. I have the small bowls pressed up to the machine. As the dessert slides out, every so often I use the spatula and scrape it neatly into the bowl. When I’m done, I unlock the top by twisting. I gently scrape out remaining goodness. I have a soapy bowl in the sink for soaking. By the time we’re done this Soft Serve Fabulousness, I just use a bottle brush and soapy sponge to go over it. Takes 2 minutes. I set it on a dish towel to air dry. When dry, I put the plastic gasket back into the round metal base- be careful. Mounded side up, or you will force it and it will break. I screw on the elephant trunk top and screw all this onto the machine. Takes 2 more minutes. Less time and cleaner than going out. And my husband sitting on the couch happy as a clam not eating cholesterol raising Dairy or Junk Food- PRICELESS.

with better consistency and less fuss
I have always used my Vitamix for blending fruit into "nice cream" -- but this machine does a really phenomenal job at it, with better consistency and less fuss. My acai bowls are amazing with this great machine -- no need to pay restaurant prices anymore!

Almost Too Good To Bear
What a wonderful appliance! For an ice cream addict who is lactose intolerant, this is heavenly. The ability to make what tastes like ice cream or sorbet with an appliance that has components easy-to-clean that can be tossed int the dishwasher is more delight, taking it over the top. The recipe book that comes with it is about as big as I am. How amazing is that? The pumpkin is fabulous and to be able to pumpkin "ice cream" all year round, too good to miss. Healthy is desirable. Healthy and delicious, plus easy, is almost too good to bear, but, be brave, and take the glory. You'll be glad you did.
