I recently installed this valve on my 18 year old fridge and it worked perfectly. I was sceptical at first because I didn't see a Schrader valve installed in it, but after reading the directions a couple of times I learned the piercing valve also plays as the shutoff valve when your done servicing the devices. Make sure to clean the area of the tubing you plan on installing this valve but don't use sand paper as it will leave scratches in the tubing which will more than likely result in a leak. I personally used 00 steelwool and lightly to polished the tubing of dirt and then followed by wiping it down with a paper towel with a little break parts cleaner which doesn't leave any residue. After installing this and topping off my fridge I checked the connection with a refrigerant leak detector and found none. I would highly recommend this valve and I even ordered a second valve to keep on hand as a spare for future use.

Used to Fix my fridge. Followed Instructions, added a few ounce of R-132A and that fridge is chillin' again. Getting some more to try and fix dehumidifiers.

This valve helped me bring a fridge back to life! (Rennervate!) been a month, no leaks, had options for different size pipes. i even overfilled my fridge (oops!) by 20psi and no leak! I didnt apply any teflon or anything to help seal before i put on the valve altho u might want to?

These are impossible to find in real brick-and-mortar stores, I had looked everywhere before Amazon saved the day (Home Depot, Autozone, Lowes, ACE Hardware, Harbor Freight). This thing is amazing, I was able to refill my old freezer which is factory brazed closed, I put this on the low-pressure side line, and cranked down the center piercing screw and filled it up! You might also need "Interdynamics (VA-1L) Retrofit Valve for 7/16" Low Side Port" if you're intending to use R134a with this valve. Copy and paste that product into Amazon's search and buy both, you'll be rockin in no-time.

I had several water coolers at work that all stopped working. The small appliance guys weren't interested in fixing them. I have done refrigeration work before, so I got these to have a go at it. I got some R-12A from an ag repair shop, vacuumed them down and did a refill. The coolers have never worked better.

Contrary to many (not all, by any means) HVAC professionals, these do work and seal if properly installed. If you have access to the proper refrigerant for the system you are working on and have the proper diagnostic equipment such as vacuum pump, oil injector, electronic pyrometer and leak detector, you can save a lot. For me it meant the difference of replacing a camper roof top air conditioner at the cost of $1200.00 to the actual repair of less than $100.00. Well worth the purchase.

First time I ever worked on any kind of refrigeration. Was able to install 1st try no leaks tested with leak detector. I only used on low side with r134a I bought 4 of them as a add on item. Used one so far but no complaints at all. Drink machine is up and running. If you never done this before just do your research you got get just the right amount of coolant in the system or it never cool right.

My favorite mini-fridge began to work only Olin the freezer compartment while the refrigeration area got steadily warmer and warmer. 10 years after purchasing, it clearly had a slow leak. Since it is a sealed system, I thought it was junk. No way! This little gem gave me a way to check refrigerant level with a gauge set (not included) pull it back to a vacuum and recharge it properly. With my unit recharged properly, it now functions perfectly again as it did 10 years ago. Money well spent.

This is an awesome product, bought 2 of this. The first one i bought I used it for adding freon. Then i discovered that the pipe has a hole. I tried several things to seal the hole even tried sealing it with JB weld and that did not work because of the pressure coming out on the pipe. Called a cooling company and qoute me a minimum of $300.00 so I hung up the phone. Then suddenly, it came to me, if this can pinch and cover the pinch hole then I also can use it to plug a hole, did that and the rest was history. So far its been 3 months and still working good. Thank you much it save me a lot money.

I was told by an rv air conditioner expert that my roof top air would have to be replace since it is a sealed system and could not be charged. The bullet piercing valve took less than 20 minutes to install and charge. I used refrigeration propane instead since it is not environmentally harmful and can be bought by the public. This worked so well, I did the same thing to a portable a/c unit.
