• Better accuracy: The distance to spot ratio is 16: 1, meaning the laser grip 800 can accurately measure targets at larger measurement area with the same distance compared with other Thermometers with DSR 12: 1 or 8: 1
  • Target quicker: measure surface temperature ranging from -58℉1382℉/ -50℃ 750℃, you can choose the unit from ℉/ ℃; A built in laser gives you the precision to hone in on the exact space you want to measure
  • Added functions: the LCD screen is backlit, it also has an auto-off function to extend the battery life and features a low battery indicator so you never accidentally run out of juice (battery included)
  • Versatile design: infrared technology makes this thermometer handy to measure the surface temperature of various objects especially temperatures above boiling points and below freezing points; use it when you are cooking and barbequing, performing auto maintenance, doing home repairs, and a host of other tasks
  • Note: for best accuracy, the distance between the thermometer and object of measurement should approximately be 14. 17 inches (36cm); temperature readings from this devices are inanimate objects, the measured temperature for humans or animals will not be correct; FDA, FCC, CE compliant; class 2 laser, optical power 0. 5-0. 9Mw; 2-year by Etekcity

We use it constantly both as a tool and as a toy. Frying pan: 320. Heater vent: 73 (that's why that air feels cold coming out of it). I've used it reheating food and deep-frying. We took it to an unheated warehouse during the cold snap and "shot" the water pipes. 34; a little too close for comfort. We got a heater for the space. I did not realize I would use this as much as I do, and enjoy it so well. It is accurate across the range I can test. (Ice water 32, boiling water 211 - about right for my elevation). Shooting the inside of the oven matches my other oven thermometer. I like it!

Excellent product. Very well made. I use mine to ensure the cast aluminum "GrillGrates" I have on my gas grill are at the proper cooking temperature, and it works superbly for that purpose. I just point it at the GrillGrates, pull the trigger, align the red dot where I want it, and the temperature is instantly displayed on the digital readout on the back. My hands stay cool, and I get a very accurate reading. I use it when I am through grilling as well, to verify the grill has cooled down enough so I can put the cover back on it (admittedly I could do this by touching the grill with my hand, but it is easier and more fun to sweep the red dot all around the grill exterior, and verify that there aren't any hot spots anywhere). The Etekcity thermometer can also be used to check the surface temperature of anything in and around the house, from air conditioning ducts to lawnmowers to our cat's fur, and everything in between.

This product works flawlessly for me. It has a greater temperature range than most for only a dollar or two more. The product is rugged and you won't even have to read the manual to use it. This is a great addition to any tool box. I use it for cooking to see how hot my pan is. I bring it camping! I use it to monitor the RV's wheel hub temperatures. I also use it to check the level in our propane tanks. There are so many uses for this thing. I can highly recommend this product!

I bought this to check the temperature of my forge, but have found so many more uses for it. Want to check the air temperature coming out of you AC or heat vents, just point the laser and get an instant reading. It says it doesn't work well on liquid, but it gives me a reading within one degree of my pool temp which is close enough. The laser also works great as a cat or dog toy and you know what the temp of the floor, couch or wall is as fluffy chases the laser around. I would avoid pointing it at your wife's forehead. While the reading was pretty accurate my wife was not amused. I told her she was hot. Still not amused.

I bought this to measure temperature of my water pipes and water meter in my unheated garage. Last winters extreme cold froze my water main pipe and meter. Now I can keep an eye on them with this and when they drop to 32 deg. I will turn on the heat wrap I installed since. Seems to work accurately on black pipe and copper pipe. Seems to be accurate. Claims to be +/- 2 deg. I tested temp. of my tap hot water and compared the Laser reading to a Laboratory grade mercury thermometer and they were within 1 degree of each other. Not accurate on shinny sheet metal such as furnace exhaust duct work. I had a lot of fun playing with it on various surfaces. Even used it to measure water temp in my washing machine load. I did not want to spend too much and this seems to fit the bill. Some of these things can run upwards of $100.00 with features you may not need. This item lets you change from C to F with push of a button. Has a laser pointer so you can see where you are pointing at and holds the reading when you release the trigger. Blue back light works great in dark areas. Also has a blue back light for working in dark areas. What more can you ask for at this price?

Great device. Fast and easy. The only difficultly (minor) is that I didn't see how to access the battery. I knew it was in the handle, but I saw no markings for how to open it. The instructions only showed the battery being replaced, with the handle only partially visible. They seemed to show the inner portion sliding down, but it turns out the inner part of the handle flips down. You need to open it near the trigger. Such a minor issue that the device still rates 5 stars.

I work as a gaffer (electrician) for an audio/video department, and we have many lights in a studio that get HOT. There’s also a sprinkler system that we have to be careful with sources of heat. I got this laser thermometer to be able to monitor temperatures of lights and make sure nothing is getting too crazy. It works perfectly. Very simple, point and click to get the temperature. You can hold the trigger down to view live changes, or let go to lock in the temperature. I also want to point out that the manufacturer, Etekcity, is phenomenal. Excellent customer service and very friendly.

I just received this infrared thermometer this week, and used it to tell when my salt block had heated sufficiently. Despite my general mechanical ineptitude, I was able to figure out how to open up the handle of the thermometer to remove the plastic-wrapped 9-V battery, remove the wrapping and install the battery. Once that was accomplished, the thermometer worked like a charm. Fortunately, I was not dumb enough to look at the laser light, or to aim it at any guests. Because my purchase is so recent, I cannot yet review how long this thermometer will last. I imagine it will last much longer if I don't get carried away pointing it at miscellaneous objects just for fun. By the way, you cannot get an accurate reading through glass.

Takes all the guess work out of griddle temperatures. My pancakes and hamburgers cook up better since I started using this to set the flat griddle temperature with this tool. I bought another brand years ago and the prices sure have come down. I checked it’s accuracy against a lab thermometer and it was within a degree or two. You want your griddle at 375? This tool will tell you if your there. It does have a laser pointer you can turn off if you want.

The first time anyone gets an IR temperature probe there will be playing. I spent about an hour pointing it at things and letting my wife know what the reading was. She gave me that same exasperated "my husband is a nerd" look I've come to know and love.
