I will speak only to the results from my specific use of this mitt because there are many ways of messing up a claying job and causing more problems than you solve. I used the fine-grade version of this mitt on a small car in a moderate climate with CarPro Immolube, which is *the best* clay lube I have ever tried (seriously). I always use iron remover solutions *after* claying because the clay shears metal contaminants off the clear coat but often does not remove the deeply embedded parts. I do not clay often: once a year or so, and almost always it's in preparation for polishing the area with my DA. Clay is an abrasive, so every time you use it you are marring the surface at least to some extent. Clay bars work great and I've used several different brands now with no complaints beyond how time-consuming and clumsy the process is. The mitts really take care of that problem. This mitt in particular has worked great for me. I got all the contaminants that I could detect off of there pretty quickly and then IronX spray got the embedded stuff, no sweat. Three warnings for newcomers to claying: (1) If you do not use enough lube, you **WILL** damage your car's finish! This stuff is an abrasive and must be used correctly in order to get proper results. (2) For Heaven's sake don't leave it in the Sun on a hot day. As another reviewer mentioned, that'll melt the clay side and you'll end up with a real mess on your hands. This also means *never clay while the car is hot*! The vehicle must be cool or you're inviting trouble. (3) When washing the mitt after use never, ever make the mistake I made: do not wring it out in a twisting motion because that will permanently damage the tacky surface of the mitt if sections of it get squished together. Do wash the mitt, but *never* wring it out or try to pat dry the tacky side with towels or anything--it's a big mistake. In fact, this is the very reason I find myself having to buy a replacement. We live and learn, eh?

I was a skeptic when it came to using this mitt instead of using clay, but I think it's a great product. This mitt is way easier to use than clay as well as more comfortable. You can rinse this mitt and continue cleaning whereas you would have to fold your clay (same process if dropped). You also get a tactile feel when you go over your paint and you can feel the contaminants. And the best part, it definitely lasts a lot longer than regular clay. Although I will note that a clay bar will always work better, but this mitt comes really close at a fraction of the effort and time. I would highly recommend this product!

THINGS TO KNOW: First thing to know is that this product is totally safe to use on your paint. I was leary about the thought of dragging a big rubbery surface across my paint, being skeptical about it being as safe as a traditional clay bar. The microfiber side works well as a basic wash mitt and the foam material inside retains a lot of your soap mixture to keep things nice and slippery. PROS: - by far the fastest way to get a regular soap clean and clay follow-up - both sides work well for their intended purpose. Having both in one product is genius. - size seems appropriate. I generally wear large sized gloves and it's a comfortable fit for my hand. I feel like I can easily take advantage of the whole surface without any fuss. - the mitt design makes the "clay" side easily stay in place (it doesn't drag and rotate around your hand) and you can also feel when the contaminants have been picked up as the strokes start to feel smoother with each pass. - cleaning off the clay side is easy - just dump it in a bucket or hose it down with water or soap mix. - promises to last a long time - we'll see. CONS: - I truely cannot find anything to complain about so far. I've done two cars, one of which was very neglected, and this was a joy to use. HOW I USE IT: I use a foam sprayer similar to the "Gilmour 75QGFMR Foamaster Adjustable Multi Ratio Cleaning Gun" in one hand, and the mitt in the other. As I hose the car down with the soap mixture, I follow right behind with the microfiber side of the mitt. I do this one panel at a time. When the panel is clean, I follow with more soap mix and use the clay side of the mitt till it's free of contaminants. I follow this method for the entire car, rinsing the clay side after each panel and do a final water-only rinse of the whole car before drying. There it is - you've just cleaned and clayed the car without a bucket, without a "detail spray lubricant", and in record time. Your now free to go about your polishing routine. CONCLUSION: Buy this product! If you want the flawless surface that only a clay bar can provide but hate the time consuming hassle of using one, then this is the perfect product for you. You will not be disappointed.

I used the Fine Grade Mitt on my Wife’s 2019 GTI, that paired with some Car Pro Iron X before claying made it super easy to get the decontaminants off the paint before I sealed the clearcoat. I used this product with the Adams quick detailer (Pink Stuff) after I had washed the car after the Iron X. It seem to do a very good job although the car only had 2500 miles on it but you could definitely tell there were contaminants in the paint. For a car with more miles on it I would probably try the medium grade clay mitt. I am a weekend detailer, but it’s a pretty easy product to use. Definitely would recommend!

I have clayed 2 cars using this wash mitt as prep for sealing and waxing. It is fantastic. The cars end up silky smooth and I could do an entire car in about 30 minutes. I also use it on my windows to get them crystal clean. Just make sure that when you initially use the product you spray your lubrication on a window and clean the window for about 30 seconds to remove the protective coating. Also, use a lot of lubrication, err on the side of caution. I bought the Nanoskin Glide and it worked great (you can't use only water). You can feel it slightly grab the paint if your hand wanders to a spot that is not appropriately slick. I didn't notice any scratches on my paint after using it, but my paint isn't in show room shape to begin with. I highly recommend this product over clay bars. The higher initial price is more than justified based on the time savings and the ability to reuse it.

I was skeptical when I purchased this product. I had heard a lot of good things, but I also heard a lot of bad things about these mitts. I wash my car frequently, clay it once a month usually. It takes time to clay and that's my problem. I don't have a lot of time. I tested this mitt on my hood after a thorough wash. I felt the paint with a nitrile glove on and there was a decent amount of contamination on the paint. I clayed a small section until I was happy, then I tried the mitt next to it so I could compare the two. I dunked my mitt in the soapy wash bucket (second bucket in the 2 bucket method) and squeezed it out on my hood. I rubbed the mitt on my hood and it was just as good as the clay, except it took much less time and I didn't need to use any clay lube. I ended up just doing my hood because my car was already pretty clean. It took about a minute to clay the hood with the mitt. I will still use clay on the tougher spots (lower rockers, bottom of the doors, behind wheels etc) because it is pliable and cheap, but the mitt will be used on everything else. It is awesome!

This an amazing clay bar mitt. Takes 1/3rd of the time from using that messy clay bar type clay. Use a liberal amounts of a proper lubricant or it will give you an occasional small brown streak when it hits a dry spot. You can rub it off or a streak comes off faster with any type of clear coat cleaner. I use a product called Klasse One Step, its abrasive, yet cant scratch the clear coat. One small bottle last for years and is great for getting any contaminants of your finish between waxing. A dab on the corner of a wet washcloth is all you need. I've clay barred 3 cars already. The $42 or whatever I paid for this mitt it is well worth it!

I can't even begin to describe how much easier this is than a traditional clay bar. It's exactly the same as when you wash your car, only your washing your car with a giant clay bar! It only took me about 10 minutes to restore smoothness to my cars paint, rather than 2 hours. I have used this product 3 times since i bought it a year ago, and it is still holding up very well! I would highly recommend this to the beginner, or advanced detailer!

This clay mitt works very well. Much easier and faster than the old clay method. You still must use some type of lube like clay but the results are just as good and like I said less time. You simply rinse off the mitt and it is ready to use again. From what I hear it is good for around 50 uses. Also if you drop it you simply wash it off and use it again unlike clay that you must throw away if you drop it. I personally think it is easier on the paint than clay scratch wise.

I was a little skeptical about the glowing reviews for this thing being as good as clay, but I HATE using clay. Clay is a pain, you have to constantly shave off bits and/or re-mold it to expose a clean part, and, in my hands at least, it seems to scratch/mar the paint easily. So, I decided to try the Nanoskin mit - and it's AWESOME! You need to lubricate a lot - I used both soapy water to rinse the mitt often, and a cheap Tutlewax claybar lubricant spray. But once the paint is nice and lubed-up, this thing works as well as, or better, than clay. And it's easier to clean and will last much longer! I plan to buy many more of these!
