These are great switches, I have had no issue with function or range so far. Also,,,A little trick I figured out: With over 3000 reviews someone may have figured this trick out already and posted it, but I am not going to read through all the reviews. In the instructions there is a procedure to "Reset" the outlet. This is actually a "reset/assign" feature. The process assigns an ON/OFF button set on the remote to the switch. So by using the same procedure you can assign two, three. or more switches to the same ON/OFF button set. So if you have multiple lamps or devices you want to switch at the same time you don't have to run extension cords all over the place. Just assign multiple switches to the same ON/OFF button set. It appears all the remotes are the same three addresses, so if you assign a switch to one ON/OFF button set it will work with another remote if you have multiple remotes. However, understand that you only have 3 control zones to work with, regardless of how many remotes or switches you have. If you get the units with the "Learning Code" feature (a button on the side of the outlet switch) there is probably more flexibility, but these switches operate as described above.

We now have four sets of these outlets. My family prefers them over app-controlled outlets because they don't want to be dependent on their phones to turn their lights on. We have one set in my son's room - controlling two lights, one set in my daughter's room - controlling 3 lights, one set in our living room - controlling 3 sets. We just purchased a fourth set - to control the three sets of interior XMAS lights. They all work great. We had one issue where two controllers were on the same channel. The Etekcity folks sent us a replacement set and the shipping label to return one of the conflicting sets. So, beyond the great product, the customer service is just as good. You won't go wrong with these outlets.

The Etekcity Wireless Remote Control Electrical Outlet three packs are a nice small investment. These little gadgets are not only extremely useful, but also a bit of fun. I ordered a single 3-pack several weeks ago, connected them to different lamps in the house, and I was extremely impressed by them. In fact, so were my aunt and grandmother, such that I purchased two more 3-packs for them. Description and use are quite simple. There are four pieces to each kit: Three outlet adapters and a remote control. You simply plug an individual unit into a power outlet and then connect whatever electronic device you want to power toggle remotely. And that's exactly what they are, power toggles. The remote has six buttons in total, which ends up being a pair of "On" and "Off" buttons for the labeled adapter. Since they are simply power togglers, the best use for them is lamps or other products that are simply turned on or off. I don't recommend them for televisions, computers, BD players, etc... as they require you to turn them on and off manually. Each adapter has a number right on the front that says "1," "2," or "3." You simply use the corresponding pair of buttons on the remote and that's pretty much it. However I should give notice that these are pretty large adapters, about the size of a standard plug-in air freshener so there is a very good chance each of these could turn each two-outlet panel into a single outlet. I wouldn't say its a drawback, but it might require planning for some users. All-in-all, these are handy and worth the money. I've seen Amazon price them anywhere from about $16 to $21. Either way, you can't miss with these.

They work great, strong range. Saves a lot of tedious busy work on items that don't have an on/off switch or have a switch that is not easy to reach especially when it's a daily process like the odd Christmas lights/tree. You could get very creative with these. Want to distract an intruder? Plug a lamp in another room into one of these sockets and you can turn it on from the other side of the house. I don't care who it is, they will experience a bit of misdirection. Sometimes that's all you or a loved one might need to be able to slip away if that is the only option. Breakdown of my ratings: *1 star – Don’t waste your money. It should have just been lost in transit. It's not worth the hassle of opening the package it came in. **2 stars – Not much better than *1 star. Waste of time and money. ***3 stars – Useful but not quite as expected. This generally means it’s just okay and it will serve a purpose to a degree but it’s lacks something. May or may not be worth returning. ****4 stars – Very good. As described in the listing. Met all of my expectations. Has all the features promised at a great price(the full product price) and it will get put to use as planned. *****5 stars – Exceeds expectations!!! Will definitely buy again at full price. Well worth it.

These are amazing! Our dog snores so we run an air purifier in our room at night to drown out the noise. We can't turn it on until we turn the TV off, otherwise we can't hear the TV. Without this wireless remote, we'd have to get out of the warm cozy bed, dash across the cold floor to turn on the purifier (brrr) and that just ruins the sleepy buzz you had 4 seconds before. With this remote, we just press the button from the comfort of our bed and the purifier magically turns on. Now if only there was a remote for the dog...

I just had one of these short out so I thought it's probably a good occasion to share my thoughts on this product. These have served the last 8 months in my boys' bedroom as a means for Mom or Dad to turn their reading lights off when it's bedtime and in that role they've actually been fairly useful. Today I was in another room when the lights flashed momentarily and I heard a pop. I immediately went to my children's room because, well, you go to where trouble can usually be found. There I found that one of the reading lights was off and the remote switch would no longer activate it. So I took it apart to see if I could fix it. What I found was curious. The solder trace on the back side of the board that connects what looks like a thermal switch to one end of the relay blew completely apart leaving a metallic deposit on the plastic housing. Given that there's nothing here but a thick trail of solder I can only assume that there was a strong internal surge that went found this the path of least resistance. This could very well be an intentional feature of the circuit to protect the user in just this sort of event and if that's the case nice work, because it was very effective. If not... Well, as it turns out I was fiddling with the reading lamp it was connected to and the physical switch on it had a massive short (a crackling, flashing, smoking, short). So this remote switch (the bit plugged into the wall) actually served a sacrificial role and prevented some serious injury happening to my little boy. So for that, I'm bumping the stars all the way up. Seriously, thank you, even if it wasn't necessarily intended to function that way.

Recently, I was recovering from lumpectomy surgery and I found that I had trouble lifting myself up in bed during my recovery. I tied a scarf at the end of my bed and that did the trick. Now, I am getting chemotherapy and I get tired very easily and don't have the energy to turn off the lights. I wondered if anything like this existed. I did a search on Amazon and there it was. It works beautifully. I have horizontally placed wall sockets and the unit doesn't block the other outlet. I have placed it in the opposite direction, facing to the right. The actual remote is small that I decided to put it in a plastic pouch that makes the remote easier to find and harder to lose in folds of blankets and on tables. When I get around to it, I will find a bigger plastic pouch, perhaps with a straps to make it even more visible and harder for me to lose. I also ordered one for my 79 year old post-polio victim mother. She has very limited mobility and physically can't reach back and turn out the light when she goes to sleep. She loves it! P.S. Since the remote control is small, it gets lost easily. So, I bought a little zipper pouch to put it in. Having it in this gold colored pouch with a wrist strap makes it easy to work and access and harder to lose.

These remote controlled outlets are great. I use them in my livingroom for some lamps. I have one floor lamp in the corner that has one of those foot switches. Rather than having to go find the switch and step on it, I can just pick the remote off the coffee table and turn it on. I also have two other lamps plugged into the other outlets. The lamps have shades and the switch it all the way up under the shade so I would always end up knocking the shade and then I have to fix a crooked shade. Not anymore though, I just press the button and turn on the lamps. I'm using the remote from a short range and have never had a problem. It always turns on and off the first time I push the buttons. I also tested it from the other end of the room and it still worked. The only downside is the size of each outlet/receiver. They are on the large side. I had to use a couple 12" extension cords for two of them so I could fit them in the plugstrip/outlet. Overall, I'm very pleased with them.

If the remote was a little more fancy and tougher this would be the coolest thing i have. My light switch turns on a outlet that we don't use but this now lets us more lighting into a more practical area without extension cords strong around. It sets up super easy and works great. My only concern is the size of the remote and the sturdiness off it.
