I'm going to keep my baby!
My monster/toddler has been making my life hell because it is almost impossible to change/dress him. I almost gave him up for adoption but decided to buy this instead. Works as described and I love the materials. Easy to clean and strong enough to hold down a 14 month boy (25 pounds) that I am used to wrestling. I have decided to keep and raise him now because of this product.

Update: New and improved velcro strap!
I have used the PooPoose for a few weeks with my 6 month old daughter and I have mixed feelings. I appreciate that it allows me to step away to grab a new baby outfit or wash my hands really quickly. I like the wipe-clean surface. My child does not like being strapped in, but it's handy when I need it. Unfortunately, after less than 2 weeks my daughter is already starting to undo the Velcro. The flaw in the design is that the bottom strap has a large Velcro surface, but the connecting strap on top only has about a 3 inch rectangle of Velcro. A strong baby can pull the strap off with a little effort. Now I am uneasy about stepping away for a few seconds. I do like the product, so I will try to fix it by adding more connective Velcro to the top strap. UPDATE: A week after submitting the above review I received a new and improved PooPoose strap in the mail. This new strap has tons of strong Velcro--no baby could ever escape! The accompanying letter said that this is the new design so you can rest easy knowing that your baby will not be able to undo the velcro. I'm changing my review to five stars. THANK YOU POOPOOSE! What amazing customer service.

Finally an intelligent invention
OMG this thing is a total lifesaver for me. My 11 month old thinks that fighting me while changing diapers is a great idea. He used to turn around and his strenght doing it, feels like fighting a bull, usually I would be totally exhausted fighting him and trying to get his attention while changing poopie diapers, you even don't want to know where I used to have poop after this ordeal. So, thank you - thank you for this grandiose changing pad and screw all classic once with the security straps which are completely useless fighting a bull while changing.

Can't live without it!
My 9 month old was able to flip in an instant and start crawling away with a poopy diaper in the mix. My husband and I had to work together to hold him down for every change and he cried. With the PooPoose, he stays in place. We've had it only a few days but he doesn't struggle at all which is a big surprise. One of us can change him now without a problem and, because he thinks he can't move around while on the pad, sometimes we don't even bother to close the strap. I wish we'd bought it sooner but I discovered it only by chance. Update: When he was 10 months old, he was strong enough to pull the velcro apart but he never tried to crawl out perhaps because the velcro kept him entertained or perhaps because he didn't know he could. Now, he's 16 months and we're still using it to change diapers and put on his shoes and socks. If he ever gets to the point where he pulls it apart and tries to crawl away, I'll add industrial strength velcro patches which should hold. I've recommended it to everyone I know who has a baby.

Best diaper changing pad EVER!!!
If you have a newborn (or are about to) buy this one. Otherwise, you'll be replacing the first one you bought at 6 months for this one. I tell everyone I know with a baby close in age that this is what they need to buy. Once your baby can roll over, diaper changing becomes a nightmare (at least for boys it seems). Mine fights diaper changes and screams when first constrained but after a few seconds he calms down. He can't flip himself over and he can't fall off. Now at 13 months he can undo the velcro (but I can usually beat him and re-stick it before he gets it completely off). The important thing is that he can't flip over onto his belly or crawl off the table while I'm trying to change the diaper. My only wish was that this had a "shield" attached to the belt that would block their hands. Then it would be absolutely perfect!

Works great for our newborn--highly recommended
My wife and I are first-time parents, so I don't have much basis for comparison, but we did order this changing pad after a lot of research and comparison to other pads. This one appealed to us because reviews of other cheaper pads described that they were difficult to clean and/or too small and/or incapable of securing a wiggly baby, whereas the reviews and descriptions here are quite the opposite. Once we got it, diapering our son immediately got MUCH easier. He's a wiggly little critter (we had had lots of drive-by-peeing incidents because he would always wiggle off whatever we put over him for cover) but the soft, wide cloth strap keeps him comfortable, secured with Velcro, and about as still as you could hope for. He still gets cranky during some diaper changes, but not as cranky or as often as before, and he's actually fallen asleep while strapped to the changing pad a couple of times (we obviously took pictures that we plan on busting out when he brings home his first date!). The pad is VERY easy to clean--the cover itself is smooth, wipes completely clean, and dries quickly. The cloth strap is removable, so we've been able to put it through the wash a couple of times when it's gotten dirtied. It's a little funky to remove and reinsert, but the little plastic sleeves that get in the way serve to keep the foam from soaking in any poop/pee--those and the cover will keep this thing clean as new for a long time. Our guy is still pretty little, but the pad leaves him with a lot of room to grow. We have the pad on the floor (no room for a proper changing table in our apartment) but there are two little strips you can use to secure it to any table/dresser/desk top for a more permanent/secure changing table setup. All in all, it seems like they've thought of everything! I could really ask for more, except for some sort of auto-diaper changer or a beer tap. It ain't cheap, but for what you get, it's definitely worth it!

Worth every penny
My only regret is not buying this sooner! Our daughter used to squirm, spin and even try to sit and stand up during diaper changes and now she is snugly and securely strapped in so she can't flip like the other changing pad. I love this thing and recommend it to all my friends with babies.

Cheaper pads a great when your baby is young and doesn't squirm around
This is the only changing pad you should be buying. Cheaper pads a great when your baby is young and doesn't squirm around. When they become more mobile, you'll be glad you bought this. The strap keeps your baby in place while you change them. This made changing my baby MUCH MUCH easier and faster. My kid hated the strap at first. Cried a lot when I put it on, but after a while, he got used to it. Now, he'll put the strap on by himself.

OMG It works!!!!
I was hesitant to buy this because of the price. I still can't understand why it's so expensive but I was desperate. Plus, my baby is very strong and has great upper body strength so I was thinking this would work for some babies but was ready to return if it didn't. Baby kept flipping and grabbing baby wipes, diaper cream and anything else she could get while I was changing her and it was driving me crazy! Sooo we bought this and wow it actually works! So far she stays put. She's not too happy about it but I think she's getting used to it. The velcro kinda freaks her out but I'm hoping she will get used to it. She's not a baby who really gets scared of anything so I was surprised to see her eyes go wide and cry when I unstrapped her the first time. Second time just wide eyes. Third still the same. I think she will get used to it. Hopefully this helps her give up the rolling all together hahah. Fingers crossed!!!

Great changing pad
So glad I splurged on this changing pad. It’s soft and the Velcro strap is very strong. I have a 4 week old so she’s not rolling over yet, but I’m getting myself in the habit of of securing her every time I need to step away from the changing table. I feel confident that it will keep her safe even when she starts getting wiggly. I have a changing pad cover and a liner under my baby so I’ve never had to worry about any messes and can’t speak to how easily the actual pad wipes clean.
