The stand works great for when I want to prop my Kindle up ...

I've had this for about a year and a half now, and it's still going strong! My kindle is in one piece (despite my children throwing it and spilling things on it). The stand works great for when I want to prop my Kindle up while reading or surfing the web. I suppose it does add quite a bit of "bulk" to the Kindle, but since I bought them at the same time, I've never known any different. I'm just grateful it keeps my tablet safe, and am more than happy to sacrifice the "slimness" of the kindle for that.

Great Kindle Case

Really like this Kindle case. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't need any screen protectors with this case. It comes with one. Very nice and couldn't really tell it was used. I am adding this in Sep 2017. This case still is wonderful. It really protects your Kindle. I still love it and if I ever have to replace it I will definitely get another one.

OtterBox provides the protection I needed

I bought the Kindle Fire HDX for my grandson who is leaving for college. I have an OtterBox for my ipad and really value the protection it provides and wanted the same protection for my grandson's kindle. It was easy to put on and the only problem that I have encountered is that it is a little difficult to remove the protective piece over the camera eye. Over all I have been very satisfied with the Box.

I ordered blue like in the picture but I was so impressed with the case when I received it that I forgot. I recieved a black one instead. I don't mind now that I've realized the mix up. The case looks spiffy and is very durable. It does a great job protecting my kindle from toddlers hands

High quality

OtterBox makes great cases and it protected my kids Kindle from falls on multiple occasions.

Definitive protection

There isn't much new I could say that others haven't already. It's the definitive protection I was looking for. As others have said, pricey but it's like insurance you're investing. So, given the longevity I'm expecting from my device, it's justified. Essential for active use. No worries. The product is actually very light weight. The bulky protection seems to be equated with additional weight, when in fact it's surprisingly light weighted.

If you got accident prone kids? BUY THIS!

The OtterBox Defenders come with a hefty price tag, but dang! They do what you need them to do! They protect your electronics and they are great stands! My girls use there's to watch cartoons on Netflix every weekend while they're eating breakfast. I use the stand whenever I'm cooking and following a recipe I found on Pinterest. THESE CASES ARE USEFUL AND MADE TO LAST. Happy shopping!

One Extremely Happy customer

I love my kindle, I actually purchased it for a better reading experience, however I search the web, check social media, have quick access to my emails, and use the video option often (I purchased a push2TV3000 to mirror my kindle to my TV, as I didn't have the correct TV Brand to mirror directly from my Kindle, and I love both the Kindle and P2TV devices). Both devices were easy to set up, and are easy to use. Amazon has excellent customer service and they seem to want to please and retain their customers, and that is huge in this digital age. thank you Amazon!

A tough little case.

I have all of my tablets and phones in an Otterbox Defender Cases they seem to be the only ones that I've used and my things have survived when I drop them so I am willing to deal with the bulk and weight of the case. The case fits my Kinde HDX pretty well. I like the case, but I don't like the bright funky colors I just wish it matched my other Otterbox things a little better. Like some of the others, I do think that the plug covers are tight, but they are not at all difficult to get to. I did purchase a headphone splitter that looked more like a cable than a square because I felt the case would interfere with odd shape. The power button is pretty easy to push, but the volume buttons do require some pressing I am guessing as the case wears that will change. The case cover has a stand that pops up which is nice because it is much heavier than holding a naked kindle you can rest the kindle on one side of the stand in either landscape or portrait mode and have a nice angled view for movies and typing. You can also spin the cover around and use the other side of the stand in either landscape or portrait mode and the Kindle will sit at more of a 90 degree angle. Overall this case offers the protection I was looking for and in a compact design with a stand to boot.

"Thank you, Otterbox!" That's one of my family's favorite phrases. We are not the most coordinated people on the planet, and I say thank you every time I drop my phone, which is usually once or twice a week. So when I dropped my Kindle on a tiled floor and shattered the screen, I knew I'd need an Otterbox Defender for the replacement Kindle Fire HDX. It adds great protection against drops and screen scratches. I haven't used the stand very much, but I like the adjustable angles. The case is customized for the device, so there are openings for the camera and speakers, headphone jack and power cord spot. The power button and volume controls can also be used without removing the case. And having the case means I won't worry as much about spills and splashes when using Kindle cookbooks in the kitchen.
