Keeps a long charge, lightweight for lifting yet super strong.
This is the best purchase I've made. So easy to start, The battery lasts longer than I expected it to. I can do 2 long decks plus paths to my front door from the driveway (2) and around to the back of the house to the rear patio AND a very large area for my puppy to relieve himself. It is so lightweight, easy to lift up on the decks and, yet, it is so strong. Today I went through 6 inches of snow with it. So glad I purchased it; especially since I need my UPS driver to be able to deliver my Amazon products. FYI, I am a 70 yr old woman and this is as easy to use for me as running the vacumn cleaner.

I waited until we actually had some snow to review this item!
Well, color me happy, this thing really works! It was very simple to put together, probably took 15 minutes as mostly it's assembled and you're just attaching the handle and a couple of other bits. Very easy instructions for operation too. It came with the charger for the battery that also came with it - be aware there are cheaper Snow Joe's on Amazon, but they may not include the charger or a battery! Things I really liked: - Easily assembled for anyone. - Very lightweight to lift (but not lightweight as a snow blower) - It has a little light on it (LED). - 18 inch wide chute (or whatever it's called) - Easy to adjust the direction you're blowing the snow to, even when using it, using a small joystick. - Could handle 6-7 inches easily - and more with a second sweep over. We had about 8-10 inches of snow in places where it drifted and about 6-7 on average on the flat - we cleared a double driveway, pathway, sidewalk by the street, out into the street by the mailbox and then the battery died - but we were finished already!!! 50 minutes of battery life and it's pretty fun to use - I mean anything is better than shoveling. It shoots the snow quite a long way, but heavy wet snow (which we had) can block the Snow Joe, but it's simple to clear out the tube - just switch it off first! I like the safety key and the fact you have to push a button down and then use the control bar to switch it on - very hard to turn it on by accident. The battery recharged in just over an hour and because this was so good I am thinking of getting one of their lawn mowers too. 50 minutes of battery life to snow blow - 24x 35 foot driveway, 4x60 foot sidewalk, road run up, and house path. I am very happy! I am adding a photo of this in use - the snow was about 7 inches deep judging by the 8 inch wheels against the snow!

EXACTLY as advertised :))
I am a 62 year old female in pretty good shape. I wanted a snowblower that was easy to use without having to mess with gas and oil. I have used this snow blower on several occasions to clear my drive (2-car width) and front walk of 2-4 inches of snow. I have yet to have to recharge the battery before I was finished. It does a wonderful job. It's cordless, recharges quickly, lightweight, has a headlight, and is easy to use. I especially like that I can change the direction of the snow chute from the handle. In 15-20 minutes, I have a clean drive and sidewalk. I can easily lift it to hang on a hook on my garage wall. When it 6+ inches and very cold, I hire my snow removal men. This is a YouTube video that explains assembly and use. I used it, and it was a terrific aid 😊 [...]

Best bang for your buck-very pleased!
This snow blower is perfect for what I need. 5 stars because it exceeded my expectation, not because it's perfect. Positives: It moves snow better than I expected. I read previous reviews carefully and some complained of it not blowing the snow far enough. I understand why they feel this way. Depending on the quantity and heaviness of the snow at times it does not blow very far. But if you plan how you are moving the snow you can get it where you want after a few passes. And for the most part it shoots the snow plenty far, thus a positive. Light and easy to push. Planning on teaching my 9 year old how to use it. Very light and easy to maneuver. Very easy to use. Very simple to start and has a two easy to use safety features including a key and a button you have to hold down while you start it. Negatives: My first run lasted about 40 minutes and then the battery died. This was 40 minutes of pushing a foot or more of snow, hard work (see pic below). So the other reviews that say it lasts an hour I think are accurate. This is only a negative because there are days here where I live where I will need more then 40-60 minutes of life. I guess I need a second battery. Not much of a negative considering the price. If you are looking to blow a lot of snow several times a year on a large property this is not the blower for you. But if you are looking for an economic alternative to a gas blower this is perfect for you. Do not expect to carry the same punch as a heavy duty $1600 snow blower, but be prepared to be pleasantly surprised as it carries itself very nicely for the price. Highly recommended.

Good initial impression
This is my 4th snowblower in 20 years. I've given 2 to my kids and I have an Ariens 2 stage that since I moved away from the Lake Michigan Lakeshore it's just more than I need. I'm impressed with the initial quality of the Snow Joe out of the box. I selected the Snow Joe because of the auger. Seemed more durable than the plastic used by the competition. Will update as I use through this winter. It is quiet, about the same noise level as a vacuum cleaner. Update: Was not expecting to update this soon. We got 2 1/2" to 3" of wet snow last night. Did a decent job. Threw the wet stuff 3' to 5', even my Ariens 2 stage doesn't like wet snow. As other reviews, you have to move rather quickly, or it will bog down. Still impressed. :-) Update Jan. 2nd 2018- Have gone through many types of snow now including 8" powder. The harder it works, the faster it depletes the battery. The only thing I think I would have done differently is bought the hybrid for the extra few bucks, just for the option of going corded, although I have not needed. The battery has been fine for the small area I do. The Sno Joe works about as well as any gas powered single stage snowblower. My favorite part is just putting in the battery, pressing a button and it goes. In the end you will have to decide what type of snow do you get most often where you live and the amount of area you need to clear. If I still lived on the lake shore with the heavy wet lake effect snow we were getting in recent years, I would have not purchased this, but is perfect for where I live now.

Great Overall and a Fantastic Upgrade From Shoveling
This is an amazing snow blower and what I've always wanted. I think you have to go into this purchase with reasonable expectations though. I'm moving up from a shovel. I can't imagine you'll be disappointed if you're making that move like me. And if you're already a snow blower owner, think you have to make sure you aren't mistaking this for having as much power as something like a gas-powered model. It doesn't, don't think it ever claimed to, so expecting it to equal its power or effectiveness means you're setting yourself up to not enjoy this purchase at all. I'd highly recommend getting the hybrid model if you want slightly more power, as the battery powered part works great, and the electric gives you the option of a bit more oomph when you need it as well if you don't mind using an electric cord. In March 2018, we had 8 inches of very heavy wet snow on the East Coast. Now, the news called it heavy wet snow, but in my area at least, it was heavy wet snow in most parts, and other parts, it was a very heavy slush, it was entirely too water laden to call it plain snow or even wet snow, the consistency was like a heavy ball of ice not snow. The Snow Joe handled the heavy wet snow pretty well, but you need to take it a little at a time, and be patient as you use it. I used the battery the entire time, didn't switch over to the electric, though that would've made things easier on me this time as it draws more power and throws it farther. It still worked great. I think I have a 50 foot driveway and it's wider, can do two cars side by side. I was able to do the entire driveway and sidewalks on the battery even though it was wet snow and could've gone at least 15 more minutes. Taking it a bit at a time, I was able to get through it. I did spray the chute and blades with cooking spray prior to taking it outside based on tips from a forum on snow blowers, and I think it helped. I did have to clear it several times when I ran into the heavy slush portions in particular, but the majority of the time it just powered through as long as I wasn't rushing. When I rushed, it jammed, so I had to figure out the right rhythm and was good to go after that. Clearing the chute several times was no big deal to me and the alternative of shoveling all of this is why this was amazing. This definitely saved my back and body in general. I did have to shovel a few parts of my property, like my steps which are too awkward for a snow blower and the end of the driveway once the plows come through. Those 15 minutes of shoveling those small areas almost did me in, so I can't imagine the pain I'd have been in had I been forced to shovel the entire driveway and sidewalk without this snow blower. So, I highly recommend the Snow Joe. I love the absence of needing an awkward electric cord and easy maintenance is what I was after. And that I didn't have to shovel the entire property and also didn't have to pay someone 75 dollars to plow me out? I call that a win and this will pay for itself after another 2 larger storms when I would've contemplated hiring someone to do it for me. I think that's who this is for more than anyone else. If you want an easy maintenance option, if using an electric cord is a hassle, or if you just want a better option than a shovel, this is an excellent buy. Update: I think technique might matter when it comes to the battery. First trip out in yesterday's Nor'easter that dropped 12 inches of heavier here, the battery was almost completely empty when I was finished clearing, maybe 35 minutes. That time, I was starting and stopping often as I moved to start a new row. Next time out, I took different lines than the first and when I was moving around even over a cleared path, I kept it running when I was moving for the most part when I was moving around. Battery lasted for 45 minutes no problem, was only on the middle signal when I was done. Just a guess, but think the start might drain the battery the most, so if you cut down on that, you'll be able to use the snowblower for longer amounts of time.

my favorite place in the whole wide world
I am a 68 year old widow with a large driveway and back walkway. I can no longer handle the large snowblower that my husband used. Faced with paying someone to clean the drive and sidewalks, I decided to see what Amazon, my favorite place in the whole wide world, had to offer. I was surprised at the number of styles of equipment available. After a little research, I found JUST THE RIGHT product for me! The snowblower was delivered the day after a heavy snowfall. This equipment surpassed my expectations. It handeled the deeper snow, the crusty snow and you have to believe me, was a dream to handle. The body is NOT metal and for a semi-disabled person, it was so very easy to get the job done the first time. It is light, the battery power is AWESOME and the instructions were easy to read and follow. No longer will I struggle with the almost tractor like behemoth that my husband used last winter. I have my own, personal snowblower that does NOT stink like gasoline and one that I do NOT have to put stabilizer into the gas tank. My 16 year old grandson pulled the machine out of the box, unfolded and secured the handle and said it looked like a toy to him. Well folks, this machine is NO TOY. It gets the job done. No more gasoline smells everywhere and no more dead batteries! The battery recharges in 30 minutes and lasted me a whole four hours before needing to be recharged. The snowblower sat on the cold back porch with no loss of battery power. It started right up. OH.....did I mention the really nifty LIGHT???? It folds down when not in use and is quite bright in the evening hours into darkness at night. This was money WELL SPENT. Then again, that's what Amazon does.....saves us money, offers quality products and delivers them to your door. Thanks Amazon and Merry Christmas to all your employees!!!!

I love this snow blower
I love this snow blower. I am an average 62 year old female, and am not paid for this review. Live in an area where snowfall can be unpredictable. often snow melts the next day, but not always--last winter was a bear. I have a 2 1/2 car driveway about 60 feet long and sidewalks. Shoveling takes about an hour + for a mere 3 inches of snow--more if more snow, especially because snow gets heavy and it can be back breaking work, even for the sidewalk. I admit to being intimated the first use. How to get in the battery, start the blower, move the snow spray--yeah, I'm a geek. But the harder thing was getting the courage to get the blower our of the box and diving into putting it together. It weighs about 20-30 pounds so dragging tn the house was easy. Taking out of box was easy. And believe it or not, putting it together was easy. I have more trouble hanging a heavy mirror than putting this together. I charged the battery--easy. Then on the day of the snow fall--about 5 inches--it took me all day to get up the courage to figure out how to use. Took me less than 5 minutes to figure it out. Slide the battery in, push the button and pull back the handle. That's it! Easy! I plowed the driveway and sidewalks in about 15 minuets.. Easy. No, it's not self propelled, but pushing it was not a problem--so much easier than pushing a shovel. I mean like using a mop inside, not the shovel which loads up with heavy snow, then you have to lift it and throw heavy snow aside. The snow is thrown about 10 feet and more, depending on how heavy it is. I did get the spray so the snow doesn't stick--please do that--spray the crap out of it.. At first, I didn't spray the blower part and snow stuck, but the second time, I did and it was perfect. Again, it's not like the heavy lifting of a shovel full of wet snow, more like dusting the floors. I've used the big snow blowers before and they are great if you have a larger, and I mean larger area with deep snow. I have two steps that lead to the door, and because this machine is light weight, I just lifted it up to the next floor area. More light weight than lifting a shovel of snow. Though wouldn't recommend for actual steps. This is perfect! Love it! LOVE IT! And it's quiet as well. I did the front area twice without recharging the battery.
