Not for novices, this kit allowed me to fix my iPad Mini 2 in a couple hours. Note, as one other reviewer commented on, the following link was extremely helpful in showing you the exact steps needed: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pS7qbJoKzts The touch screen in the kit is ready to go, containing the IC chip and home screen button already attached, and contains the adhesive already applied to the underside of the touchscreen and covered with clear plastic, however you need to buy the following additional parts to complete the repair: - vinyl or latex gloves, powder free. You can get these from your local drugstore - an extra spudger. The kit only provides one. Note that the heat gun can easily melt the spudgers. - A heat gun. This is required, a hairdryer won't cut it. You can buy a good one on Amazon for about $13. Be aware of the fire hazard and/or the damage you can cause to furniture with the heat gun. I had a couple of pieces of tile for insulation and a cookie sheet that I did most of the work on. Also note that the vinyl or latex gloves do not insulate from the heat produced by the heat gun. After you heat the iPad, if you touch it with gloved hands it can be quite hot. - five minute clear epoxy. This is used in very small quantities to attach the corners of the touch screen during the final assembly process. - pointy ended tweezers. These are almost required to pick up the tiny screws. - also recommended is a strong magnet, so that if you drop a screw or one of the magnets from the iPad, you can find it easily. :-) A couple of things not clear/missing from the above video: - disconnect the battery connector to avoid blowing a fuse for the LCD panel - the connector is right next to the touchscreen and LCD connectors - the magnet placement is important - the video doesn't really show you this, but if you look closely and watch the video where the magnets are reattached, you will see about where they should be installed. One thing I learned is if the magnet is not installed in the right spot you will have difficulty closing the case with a new touch screen on it. I discovered this after I had put on the Apoxsee and remove the clear tape from the adhesive on the touchscreen, only to find that the case would not close in one corner. Luckily I was able to separate a corner of the touch screen from the case a little bit and inserted a spudger and pushed on the magnet until I could close the touch screen properly onto the case. - two of the screws are longer than the others, which the video does not highlight. One is used for the connector cover, which takes three screws, and goes in the top left corner, using the same orientation is the YouTube video. The other screw goes in the bottom left corner of the case, after the LCD panel is reinserted.

I love this screen, and the very cool supply of tools that come with it! Everything you need except the heat gun! Word of advice though... prior to using the SlyPro tool (the long black pry tool), I would suggest wrapping the middle handle part in a few layers of black electrical tap! You WILL NEED THE CUSHIONING! It is a very sharp tool lol. I have my own set of precision tools for phone repairs, but I really liked the tools included in this set! On another side note: VERY IMPORTANT - disconnect the battery prior to disconnecting the LCDD and Digitizer. Otherwise, you run a very liekly risk of blowing the fuse on the motherboard!

This product doesn’t have any instructions as other reviewers have stated. We watched a very good 52 minute video on YouTube entitled, “iCracked Official iPad Mini Screen / Digitizer Replacement Video & Instructions”. The installer in that video was giving instructions for his product, but was very easy to follow. The two magnets that I removed didn’t seem to have any adhesive to replace them, so I had to buy some to make them stay in place when I was reassembling everything. Also, toward the end of the reassemble process, the replacement screen / digitizer had a plastic adhesive tape removal film that was hard to see. But after that was removed and everything was in place, my iPad mini worked like a charm. My eyesight isn’t very good and the screws are tiny. A magnet to hold the screws is a must. And of course, you’ll need a heat gun or hairdryer to make this work.

This kit comes with absolutely everything you need (with an exception of a blowdryer) to remove and replace your iPad mini screen and works absolutely perfectly. I have seen people complain that their iPad lost the magnetic lock function after replacing the screen and that's because you have to pull the magnets from your old screen and replace them before installing this one (I personally did not do this because I don't use a magnetic case so this feature doesn't matter to me). Also, do not remove the adhesive backing until you TURN ON your iPad and TEST the screen BEFORE sealing it down permanently because once it's done, it's done. I've also seen complaints that the home button felt flimsy, from my experience the home button felt fine although there is little bit of play in it, more so than the original but do keep in mind that you can remove the home button from your old screen and apply it to this one (for me, it wasn't worth the trouble, the home button works fine.) Make sure you understand exactly what you're doing before attempting this and you won't have any complaints. This 25 dollar screen brought my 300 dollar iPad back to life and I'll buy it again if I have to.

This is the best quality screen I have ever used , whether for the iPad or iPhone. I went thru 2 other iPad screens with either ghost touches, or connectors that never seemed to snap tight but this one is great. Adhesive works wonderfully, just make sure to leave some weight on it for a little bit after testing, overnight is best. But before leaving weight on top of it overnight I was "testing" it for an hour or so without issue. This is the screen to get if you don't want to redo it and have to return it.

If you like grown up legos, this is your thing. I recommend watching multiple you tube videos on how to do this carefully and with lots of patience. Find a clear surface, get a magnetic dry erase pad to make sure you can keep the tiny screws from moving around and at the same time label the steps. Less complicated that an iphone screen replacement but not for newbies. As long as your lcd is fine this screen is easy. BTW wear gloves when handling the screen to avoid fingerprints on the inside of the glass.

My daughter shattered the screen on her iPad mini. Normally, I would ask my husband to fix it, but he was unavailable. I got a few quotes from repair shops around my area, and everyone wanted $100+. Forget that. I'm a woman of the 21st century. I can do this! I watched a video on YouTube, ordered this replacement, and waited patiently. It came super fast, and in perfect condition. I was able to replace the cracked screen in about an hour. I especially love that the adhesive was already applied. So much easier than having to do that yourself! There were some reviews that stated the adhesive was too weak. I did scrape the majority of the old adhesive off it seems pretty sturdy. The whole process was much easier than I expected it to be. Would definitely order this product again in the future.

Was a little bit skeptical as I've have my screen replaced on my ipad mini 2 once already and it lasted for about 2 days before my 4 year old was somehow able to crack it again with 1/2 inch foam case on it. Don't fool yourself this is not up to apple quality, but for 22$ currently I can't really complain when similar from apple is roughly 200$ including install. For the last digitizer and install I paid 100$ for a local repair place and as mentioned quality was less than this and it had no logo on the home button. I would recommend a hair dryer or heat gun to warm the adhesive to make it easier to release but all in all with the assortment of tools that are included I had no need for anything else and took about an hour to do from start to finish. An small ice cube tray or ifixit makes a nice magnetic mat that can help keep the micro screws in order for ease of reassembly. The only thing that I think they could improve on is if they made pull tabs for removing the adhesive covering as it took a some finagling to get it off while the tablet was almost all reassembled, but that is just a minor gripe. I would also recommend putting a tempered glass screen protector just to add a little more strength since it's not as durable as the original, I bought the anker one for 10$ and am please with it. Pros: all tools needed for the job, short of things that make it slightly easier like a hair dryer and parts tray has logo on the home button good fitmant price Cons: not as durable as the original, but for 22$ what can you expect adhesive covering is hard to remove

In the process of replacing the shattered screen on a friend's iPad Mini 2. Got to the point of testing to verify the digitizer works and found I somehow damaged the LCD in the process of removing the old glass. I'm quite experienced doing this sort of work so word of warning: if you think you're being careful slow down and be even more careful. There's not a mark on the LCD so it must have just been a momentary pressure from the pry tool on the corner that did it. Just seeing vertical lines along the left quarter of the picture now... As for the new digitizer, I haven't removed the plastic covering and put it through all its paces but it responded to my swiping just fine in the brief on/off I did a few times. The included tools are surprisingly high quality and worked well. Will update my rating if necessary once a new LCD arrives and I get it fully fixed.

I bought this product after researching a few ways to inexpensively replace my daughter's cracked screen. I was hesitant that it would include everything I needed for this low price (I was quoted $90 for a local business to repair the screen). Long story short, this does contain everything you need, and if you follow the instructions (available online), your iPad will look like new in about an hour. Be warned that the lengthiest part of the repair will be removing your old cracked screen and PLEASE! wear eye protection while doing that, as splinters of glass can and do fly off the screen in all directions. I highly recommend this product as a very inexpensive and very effective solution to your cracked iPad case. I just came back to buy another one for my other daughter's iPad :)
