Purchased for an outdoor set of lights around my back deck. I was looking for something that I could easily turn on and off without having to unplug all the time. I liked that it had a timer but my favorite part is the remote! I honestly never use the timer but every time my dogs go outside, I push the button and the lights come on and I never have to even step foot outside if I don't want to. When they come back in, push the button again and I'm done. Really easy to work and no problems thus far (used daily for about 3 months). HIGHLY recommend this product if you are looking for something quick and easy like I was. Can't really tell you how the actual timer works or anything fancy but the remote is worth the cheap price in and of itself. Hoping this lasts for at least a year but longer would be even better!

We have LED cafe lights outside on our pergola, but the plug is too difficult to get to on a regular basis. I didn't want the lights on a timer because I didn't want the backyard to look like Christmas every night. Even though this device is a photoelectric timer -- that is, it senses dusk and times accordingly with the settings you choose -- it can be also be used as a remote control. The timer is behind a wall, yet the range is good enough for me to turn on the lights from inside the house, using the key fob remote, about 15 feet away. The programming itself needs to be done on the device and cannot be effected from the remote -- it is purely an on/off fob. The quality of this timer is excellent. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

I bought this to replace a Christmas lights time on our outdoor porch . We live on the SF Bay and the salt air and driving rain hasn't seemed to kill it yet after 6 months. The timer is WAY easier to program and use than most of the ones I have had previously. A single rotating dial; turn it on, turn it off, turn on/off dusk to dawn, turn it on at dusk, then a choice of staying on for 2, 4, or 6 hours after dusk. JUST what I want. No more lights staying on all night. For me, I like On aty dusk then + 4 or 6 hours at Christm,as. Then, if I leave them up in the summer , they come on pretty late and I just select 2 hrs more before turning off. We'll see how it holds up, but seems sturdy and has done well so far. The remote control on off is a great topper for the features . It has some lovely 'logic for how it works in relation to the dial settings on the master controller, , but that can be your spoiler. Just say it is logical and works quite nicely. I like it! I am not a REAL Christmas Light Professional like on TV, but I endorse it!

We all know this feeling - It's late, kids are in bed, you're tired and ready to go to bed. Only that your fancy seasonal decorations are still blowing/glowing/moving outside. You don't feel like putting your shoes and coat back on just to turn them off. Here's the solution! Simply use this timer with its convenient remote control! Sure, you can also set the timer but every mechanical timer can do that... There are two more things that I absolutely love about this particular timer: 1. The angled plug with [an admittedly short] cord 2. It has three outlets The outlets on my porch are conveniently located such that they are behind the open front door, meaning that a bulky timer or a wide open flap of the outlet would be at risk of being smashed when opening the door. Having an angled plug with a cord keeps this risk to a minimum and was one of the main factors for me to buy this particular timer. I don't think I need to elaborate on the benefit of having three outlets instead of one... I have used the timer and photoelectric settings - both work great - but my favorite feature is still the remote control. I can highly recommend this timer and should I ever need more than one, I know what to get!

This is probably one of the best and most economical timers I have ever purchased. Used this all through the month of December. Which for us was the monsoon season. I didn't keep the timer out directly in the rain however. I had it plugged into an outlet under an awning. So it's was exposed to a lot of moisture, but no direct rainfall. It worked like a champ though. Matter of fact, still is. I use it indoor now. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone needing a timer. I would advise with any electric product if using outside to keep it covered from direct exposure to rain, sleet, snow. I mean that should just be common sense. So anyone giving a bad review because this quit working because they let it get wet, well that's pretty much there fault, not the product. And for the price, you can have them all over the house. Great for being away. Just always use a Multi-Strip.

This is the stuff of wizards! I cannot believe that we survived so long without one of these. If you are a like-minded person interested in saving a few bucks on the electric bill, and are stepping outside your door in the freezing cold in your robe and slippers to unplug the lights....PLEASE! Do yourself a favor and get one of these! We have used this for one complete Tennessee winter season, and it performed flawlessly. 1. Plug it into your outdoor outlet. 2. Plug in your extension cords, light cords, etc (it has 3 plugs on it). 3. Set the timer to the number of hours you would like it to stay on. 4. At dusk your lights will magically illuminate. Don’t ask me how. Like I said. Magic! 5. After the timer expires (we used 6 hours, which had the lights turning off around 1030 pm), the lights are out. The beauty is, if you want them on longer, you grab your remote and push a button..Walaa! Lights on. No more contact frostbite from trying to save a few bucks on the electric bill. Ah, technology!

Purchased this timer 8/22/2017 to go along with two sets of Brightech Ambience Pro LED Commercial Grade Outdoor Light Strands. The pergola we hung the lights on has electrical sockets but unfortunately the only way to switch lights on or off is from the fuse box and we haven't gotten around to adding a switch. This timer worked perfectly for our purposes because we can keep the fuse box switch on and control the on/off from the timer. Although the timer has a sundown/sunrise feature as well as a timed number of hours setting, we are using it manually (so no auto on/off) through the remote that came with it. Some reviews comment that the remote is not long lasting, that remains to be seen. I have not researched replacement remotes so I don't know whether those are available. For now, it's just what was needed, so much easier to benefit from the beautiful lights. The remote is hung on a hook near the back door and it does not have to be in direct line of sight to the timer (can turn the lights on/off from inside the house). The timer also worked from the front of the house at the end of the driveway :) but I have not tested the limits (ie can I drive by and click them on ha ha). Very happy with this purchase.

I love this! I have my outdoor lights and pool light plugged into this. I can turn them all on with 1 remote from inside the house. I only wish the length was a little longer and the red light not so bright. In the photo you can see the little red light in bottom right.

Over the years, I've tried a variety of timers to turn our Christmas lights on. Mostly, it's because I'm lazy. I have very snoopy, judgy neighbors who would have fits if I dared to go outside wearing my robe and slippers in the morning to unplug the lights, or without a bra at night to plug them back in. I also have a Homeowner's Association populated by even judgier people, and they seem to live for the chance to leave nasty notes on residents' front doors when they fail to turn their Christmas lights off during the day. (God help us if we don't have them taken down by mid-January, too!) I should probably move to a more pleasant, less petty neighborhood but that's an expensive, burdensome process. Fortunately, I've been able to solve the problem thanks to this well-priced, nifty gadget. I've plugged our outdoor lights along with the small lit Christmas tree on our front step into the thing, then set it to come on at dusk and go off at dawn. No more nasty looks from the neighbors about my fuzzy bunny slippers and shabby robe!

We have lots of lights in our back yard ran off an extension cord and too often I'd wait until it was dark and try to plug in the lights, in the dark, and then have to remember to unplug them before bed. THIS solved everything. The lights turn on automatically (I set it for 8pm for summer) and they shut off 4hrs after that automatically. If I go to bed I know they will go off soon or if I want the lights off I just use the remote (which has great range) and shut them off knowing the'll come back on tomorrow at 8pm. I couldn't be happier and would definitely recommend this if you have outdoor lighting.
