Got a used bean roaster at good will. This looked like a good bean to start with, I wanted a basic 100% Columbian. I have always ground my own beans but still couldn't get coffee as good as the local coffee shop. Twenty minutes in the roaster. Ended with the best cup I have ever brewed at home. I have been able to completely change the flavor just by adjusting roasting time. Ligher roast was citrus and sweet and a little spicy. Darker had a deeper flavor and more complexity. Will buy again and can give fresh roasted beans to friends and family.

This is good coffee, smooth and mild with nutty flavor (this can be controlled by the roasting time, but that's how mine turned out most times). I was on a roasting kick. for awhile and this was one of my favorite and a great deal. I recommend this for someone with knowledge of coffee roasting or someone wanting to learn. I am still learning so roasted mine in a cast iron pan, not ideal, but it worked. I recommend a coffee roaster for ease of use. Also to get the best out of the bean remember do not roast it all ahead or it defeats the purpose of fresh. Roasting this coffee really makes the house smell great.

Very Happy. I love Colombian coffee. You can't find it in a light roast anymore. So I roasted my own. Roasted to City to City+. Bright, sweet, rich, nutty & chocolaty cup of coffee. Very balanced. Freshly roasted brewed coffee infused the house and makes it smell like a coffee shop. Good quality green beans as far as I can tell (All physically intact, consistent shape/size, clean smell--roasted coffee is fragrant and supremo size) but, I'm no expert. Differentiating between first and second crack is difficult. Continuous cracking between first and second into a Vienna roast. Toastmaster popcorn popper: city roast about 2:40, city+ at 3:00. Home roasting is fun. I can't stop smelling the fresh roasted coffee I made. It's addicting! (2/2015). Addt'l Info: Ordered direct from company for 2nd 5lb bag and got a less tasty bean batch; bags weren't marked with shelf date as Amazon beans are.

I use this coffee to make grande lattes and the result is excellent. I don't drink neat espresso but my guess is that this would not be balanced enough for most espresso drinkers' tastes, and it doesn't generate as thick a crema as other blends. However, the coffee works great in large milk drinks due to its powerful, chocolaty, non-acidic traits. It actually works better than other more expensive espresso blends I have tried, both green and roasted varieties. For instance, I prefer this coffee over my previous favorite - Sweet Maria's Liquid Amber espresso blend. Some notes on how I use it: I roast 12 oz batches in a Behmor roaster and cool just as the beans enter 2nd crack (about 20 minutes) to get a "full city+" result. I let the coffee sit for a day before either using it or freezing it in a glass jar. I use a Mazzer Mini E/A to grind it and a Profitec 700 to brew it. Brew temp is set to 200F and I extract about 36g of espresso in about 24 seconds thru 20g of coffee before adding 8 oz of steamed/expanded milk to fill a 16 oz container. Delicious!

I am on my 2nd 5lb. bag of these green beans. With the use of my hot air popcorn popper and a half cup of green beans, I have freshly roasted coffee in 5min. 30sec. The beans swell up to almost 3 times the size of the green beans. While the roast is dark, the coffee is very smooth. While not labeled the beans could be considered the "fancy" grade of beans, very smooth. For just over $6 a pound, the coffee brews up to taste like expensive resort coffee. Bye-bye STARBUCKS!!!! ... I'll never go back to them!!!

I roast it in a popcorn popper with a 3" vent pipe to keep the beans in and the chaff out as soon as it starts cracking and smoking into the colander for cooling nice shiny oil on the surface grind it in a hand mill so it does not get any powder and wow the flavor is awesome just make sure you use a steeping method not an automatic drip maker

These beans roast well and taste amazing. I never have issue with them turning melange on me, even as a novice roaster. I lay them flat on a sheet in the oven and they are evenly roasted and the shells come off easily. As a newbie to coffee roasting at home, I cant say if it is the columbian or this company but I love the consistency and promptness of delivery!

Roasted some of these beans yesterday and brewed some coffee with it this morning. Good taste. I am new at roasting but I think it is good.

Great green beans and perfect Columbian Supremo flavor for me. Mellow and smooth without a lot of bite. I like the City roast bordering plus. I stop and cool the beans with my home SR 540 French Roaster at 1 1/2 minutes after 1st Crack.

Roasting your own is the best, bet beware, very smoke and very aromatic.
