First time parents in hot climate approve!
As a first time mom and dad we explored sole baby wearing options that included gifts and purchase alike - including and not limited to Boba, ring slings, Britax. Living in Hawaii, our primary concern next to ease of wearing was how the carrier handled heat. Well, tying wraps was not for me and forget about getting my poor husband to learn! All options were way too hot, too, even during early AM walks. Then I did a little research on Instagram and found Lillebaby. After comparing heaps of reviews I decided the look and apparent ease of use of this carrier was worth the investment, and decided on this carrier over ergo baby because it seemed to be more along the lines of what we need. FINALLY this low maintenance mom has found the perfect carrier! Loved that my husband loves it too. We feel confident carrying him hands free, and the neck support that you can button down was a huge plus. The seat was easy to adjust and the pack stays much cooler during walks. A huge plus, when you want to take it off if bub falls asleep you can just lay it down and unclip which makes for a smooth transition if he falls asleep during a walk (which happens 100% of the time). So glad we found this when he is three months and plan to use it til we can't any longer!

Just right
I've tried several other carriers, but my son hasn't loved any of them. The Babybjorn was too hot (we live in Arizona and black fabric is a no-go), the Boba and Agility carriers were too snug and I never got the Boba to wrap correctly, and he never got comfortable in a mei tai. Though it took a little bit of adjustment at first, Baby settled into the Lille very quickly and was happy as can be to ride around in it-- even on a sunny Arizona morning of 80+ degrees! It's definitely far more breatheable than the other carriers we've tried, but it's still very sturdy. It even keeps Baby snug while I put it on and adjust everything-- something that was nearly impossible with the Babybjorn, which felt like Baby would fall out while I tried to adjust it. My only complaint is that the hood can't be removed, only rolled up and tucked away. My son usually has a hat and sunglasses outside, so we don't need the hood, and it would be nice to use the storage pocket for other things. But overall? Best carrier I've used, and Baby seems to agree.

No sore shoulders! You will not regret this purchase
This carrier is a life saver! I bought it nearly 2 years ago & zero regrets. Works well for toddler, infant & newborn. I have a k'tahn fabric carrier which is more convenient to throw in the diaper bag but it hurts my shoulders after using just a few minutes. PROS: Comfortable! My back gets sore after a few hours of use, but honestly it's from diastisis recti so that's a me issue. Not too hot. Pocket is convenient. I can put this on totally alone. Mesh hoods keeps baby shaded from sun & from crumbs while momma eats 😅 Durable. CONS: too bulky to fit in the diaper bag. Straps need to be tightened every few times I wear it. Have to set baby down to put it on around the waist. I swear my 2nd child lives in this thing. He never wants to be set down but I still have a toddler to chase & play with so this thing has definitely saved us. We used it while he was a newborn too. Only this is you have to roll up a burp cloth for support in the newborn mode, but after watching a video on the Lillebaby website, it was easy peasy.

Easy and breezy!
I am a big fan of this carrier. I bought a LILLEbaby Complete in black originally, and liked it so much that I decided to get this one in the airflow fabric because I live in South Carolina where it gets HOT. And baby wearing is just hot anyway. I used it for about 4 hours at the zoo on a warm pre-spring day and it was great! It is indeed much cooler than the Complete. This carrier, overall, is just so comfortable to use. My back and shoulders usually get super tired carrying my 6 month old around, and I have many different carriers and wraps (this is my 4th). I considered many carriers of this more expensive investment style before settling on the LILLEbaby and I'm so glad I did! I can even carry my 35lb 3 year old in it on my back comfortably. And the pocket....OMG so convenient. I can put my iPhone 6+, keys and a lip gloss in the front and am good to run in just about anywhere. Overall, love this carrier and recommend highly!

LILLEbaby vs Boba 4G vs Ergo 360
Lets start by saying that my husband and I love love love this baby carrier. We've spent a lot of effort and time to find one that's 1) comfortable for our baby 2) easy to use 3) versatility 4) long term good investment. We brought our 5 month old baby with us to Baby R Us to try out all the carriers in person before ordering one... we were there for 3 hours! This review will only focus on LILLEbaby, BOBA 4G, and ERGO 360...basically our top three contenders. Please note that I didn't try to breast feed while trying these on so I cannot comment in that aspect. BOBA 4G ($125): Pros: -Very easy to use. I can get baby in and out quickly. Only requires two clicks. 1st clip is located midline low back and 2nd clip is located between shoulder blades. Since the 1st click is located midline lower back, it feels like the support is more evenly distributed. Also, I think this would help if you plan on using it during pregnancy. -Our baby seemed to enjoy it. She didn't fuss at all when we tried this one. Walked around in it for ~10 mins and she fell asleep. -$125 seemed like a good investment considering that you can use this till baby is ~45 lbs -Pocket located in front, on the belt. Enough space for phone/credit cards... -Two small shoulder straps that can be used for keys/purse -Infant insert included in price. -Hood can be detached -Padded shoulder straps Cons: -Limited versatility. Only acts as front and back carrier. Baby cannot be frontal facing out (which is our baby's favorite position) -Can get really warm. I guess this is a good thing if you live in a cold place. We only see ourselves using this during the summer or inside therefore this is a huge negative for us. ERGO 360 ($159): ERGO 360 is highly rated by a lot of people and I am sure it works wonders for them. My review on the ERGO 360 is based on our baby and our experience with it. I still recommend trying it on in person. You might have a different experience than us. Pros: -Versatility for sure. You can wear baby in 4 different positions (front facing out, front facing in, hip, and back) -Baby can wear till ~33 lbs -Has a hood. Not sure if it's detachable. We didn't try to take it off. -Padded shoulder strap Cons: -Baby hated it. We tried it on 4x and she cried all 4x. Again, this is OUR baby so I cannot say that it's uncomfortable for all babies... -Difficult to put on/take off. It seemed like forever trying to get her in and take her out of this carrier. Perhaps it seemed much longer since our baby was crying? Again, this is subjective. -The giant belt is velcro. It was really loud to take it off. Huge turn off since it can definitely scare my baby. -No baby insert. You need to purchase it separately. -It's pricey compared to others. -This one also can get really warm. LILLEbaby Airflow ($125): Pros: -Versatility. Up to 6 different positions. -Mesh fabric so a lot of air flow. This is important since it will not get as warm/hot compared to others. -No need to buy baby insert -2 front pockets. one for the hood and the second one is big enough for phone, doggy bags, credit cards.. -padded shoulder straps -very easy to put on and get off. two clicks like the Boba 4G. First clip is on the side and second clip is on the upper back between shoulder blades. I don't mind the side clip but I am not sure if it would be comfortable for pregnant or really skinny people since it sits pretty close to the hip bone. the second clip had a mini pad underneath to prevent it from digging into your back from prolonged use. -Our baby loves loves loves it. -It has a lumbar support pad that can be detached. -Can be used till ~45 lbs Cons: -Doesn't have straps for purse/keys. I mean...if BOBA 4G mated with ERGO 360..LILLEbaby would be their ideal child...only carrying their best genes!!! Seriously though, I highly recommend taking the time and bringing your baby to the store to try out the carriers. Who knows, you baby might be completely crazy happy with a $20 carrier and a complete disaster with a $100+ carrier.

One of my favorite baby carriers
When our sixth baby, a girl, was born three years ago, I wanted a new carrier because our Ergo needs an insert for newborns and that’s one more bit of clutter in the large amount of things we need to haul around. Last month, we had our seventh baby, a boy, and the hot pink and charcoal Lillebaby carrier we had bought to carry out sixth baby just wasn’t going to fly- I doubt the baby would mind the difference, but I went on amazon to buy a neutral color of the same carrier. I also bought a new Ergo to compare and possibly switch to but returned it since the Lillebaby came first and he and I loved it right away. The new Ergos that are most like the Lillebaby have a removable pouch but I really prefer the zippered pouch being where it is on this one. I find that pouch to be indispensable- it can easily fit a couple diapers, keys, an ID and cash/cards. There have been some little improvements since the carrier I had three years ago. The sleep/shade/hide-while-nursing-in-the-carrier hood is helpful and necessary but, like others have said, it is always falling out of its pocket. It’s annoying but not a big complaint. One other minor complaint I’ve seen in others’ reviews and I echo is that the mesh gets snagged easily especially by rings, so if I slide my hand in to rub his back or something it catches and frays the fabric but not terribly. While they say no infant insert necessary, the packaging does say it is optional to put something under them. My daughter was 9.5lb at birth and didn’t need this, but my son was only 7.5lb and more wiggly so I have been folding a muslin receiving blanket and tucking it under him so he rides higher and more securely in the carrier. Actually, this has been a tidy, compact way to stash the blanket I often need to cover up with if he wants taken out of the carrier to nurse. With my daughter, I took off the lumbar support and lost it :/ but I don’t think I ever would’ve used it anyway because of the added bulk. Now that I’m three years even older, I really appreciate the lumbar support. The lumbar support makes the carrier less sleek for folding up to put with all of the other stuff we haul, but most days it feels worth it. When the babies get old enough to drool and gnaw at the straps, removable covers are great to extend the fresh look of your carrier.

This is the one you want!
I was researching several options of an easy to use baby carrier with my third child. I had a Moby and a ring sling with my first two. The ring sling was uncomfortable after long periods of time, and while I love my Moby wrap, my son wanted in and out too many times a day and it was becoming a hassle to wrap us up so many times. I was looking for something that I could easily put on and take off. I originally bought an Ergo because it seemed to be a popular one. I had read reviews that I could use it without the newborn insert by just tucking his legs in the newborn frog position and it worked great, but my sweet son was born in summer and gets hot easy (which is why I didn't want the new born insert). He hated it. We'd both sweat, inside!!! And he didn't like his legs being in the frog position for too long. I was debating on switching to the Ergo performance or the Ergo Venti. That's when I went to a Baby Wearing International meeting so I could see them in person. I immediately decided the Venti wasn't for me. I'm short (5' 1") and it is pretty tall. I was disappointed because I thought it would be the best since my son gets so hot. I talked to a lady there about exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a carrier that is easy to put on and take off, it had to be well ventilated, and I wanted to be able to nurse discretely. Also, my son was only two weeks old at the time so it needed to be suitable for a newborn. She showed me the LILLEBABY. She showed me how to use it and I put my son in it while we chatted a bit. He fell asleep very fast and because it adjusts to newborn size it allowed his feet to dangle so he didn't get hot!!! (They didn't have to dangle. I could have tried the frog position). I was able to rent it for a month. I fell in love with it so I bought my own! My son is now two months old. We use this thing EVERYDAY!! Inside or outside and while we may get hot outside (no longer inside!!), it isn't enough to wake him up or bother me. Let's face it, baby wearing is hot! But the LILLEBABY Airflow made it bearable! We only use it facing in because he is so little still and I am sure that if we were not considering having more children I would have considered the Ergo Performace more closely, but I love that I can use this carrier with a new born!! His feet can be exposed which helps him not get so hot, but they can also be in the froggy position. A huge bonus is we can nurse discretely without an extra cover. My sister-in-law was shocked when she found out I was nursing (my son is a loud eater and she could hear his clucks). We love this carrier!

Life Changing
I had a cheaper carrier initially and it caused a lot of shoulder/back pain. I also tried a wrap, which worked well for weight distribution but was WAY too hot for the Texas heat. This one is much cooler. This carrier distributed most of my baby’s weight to my hips which has made a HUGE difference. We bought this carrier so it could accomodate me and my husband. He is 5’11” and has really wide shoulders. I’m 5ft even and have a very small frame. I have this on the smallest settings and it fits wonderfully. My LO has been in the 90+ percentile for height and weight since her 2 month appt, so it was extremely hard on my back and shoulders until I bought this carrier. She also had reflux and needed to be upright for 30 minutes minimum after every feeding, additionally she had a lot of trouble if she was laying flat on her back. As a result, I couldn’t use her nap times to catch up on housework. (My husband was gone for work months at a time so he wasn’t present to help) This carrier made my life so much easier. It allowed me to be able to enjoy her sleeping on me without pain and help her with her reflux. I cannot recommend this enough.

Comfortable, secure, no strain on my back, the cool mesh fabric, & the ability to use w/out insert made LILLEbaby beat out Ergo
I struggled for months & months trying to decide between the Ergo & the LILLEbaby. My final decision came down to comfort -- I live in an area that doesn't see any seasons other than summer & regularly hits 90+ degrees so I chose the full mesh LILLEbaby because of its ability to keep myself & baby as cool as cool as is possible in this California climate. Some other perks were the ability to use it from birth without having to buy an insert, even with my little preemie who only now just hit 9lbs at 12wks, & the front pocket big enough for my cell phone, keys, & a binky. It was a little tricky to get on at first but a quick search for a YouTube video fixed that. I also would've liked a bigger choice of colors & designs, although the navy color I ended up with is very appealing nonetheless. I still plan on keeping my Boba for those times when it's a little cooler out or I want to feel a little closer to my boy, but I'm so happy to be able to choose between the two. It's still my first day with it, so I may come back & edit this review. I've also just signed up to become a member of a babywearing club where you get to rent different carriers on a monthly basis, so if I find a better one I'll be sure to let you know 😊. Please let me know if you found this review helpful, as I also rely heavily on others' reviews when purchasing from Amazon.
