Great monitor - worth the extra cost

Great baby monitor. We’ve bought a few other baby monitors over the years and they all had some issue that really made them frustrating to use (like you couldn’t tilt/pan from the monitor, night vision wasn’t good, etc). This monitor is definitely on the pricier side but worth it in the end since it’s a daily use product.

Just buy it!!!

Why did I wait to buy this monitor?!? I really wanted a monitor that had it all (including WiFi capabilities) with a parent module. So because this monitor didn’t have WiFi, I went with a Motorola instead. Although the picture on the Motorola parent module was amazing, I went through three different returns before finally giving up on the MP4 model. The sound went out on one and the other two I had troubles with charging because the port was cheaply constructed. Finally, after every review basically said this monitor was the best, I bought it. Why why why was I reluctant? It really is the best! The picture is great, the sound is great, I love all the features. And I really don’t miss WiFi like I thought I would. If you are like me and really don’t want to use your phone as your parent module, this really is the best monitor!!!!

Original camera way better than add-on

For some reason the add-on camera is terrible. I can barely decipher anything besides there is at least a baby IN the crib. The first (clearer) picture is obviously the original. The second pic is the add-on. Update 1/20/18: called the number on the back of the camera. Their customer service was actually pretty great. They sent me a couple things to try to fix it then agreed it was broken and sent me a new one. Just hooked it up, so far it’s just as good as the original.

Easy to install

This is a great camera. It's easy to use and install. Paired easily with the parent unit and we've had no trouble with it. I love that I can buy a spare camera so I can keep an eye on both of my kids in two different rooms. We mounted both cameras on the wall and they were very easy to use.

Quality:Great; Customer Service:Incomparable

The product is great. It works perfectly for both my little ones. The scan feature is great. I am noisily notified at any given time in the night that my child needs attention. What is exceptional is the customer service. I had a minor issue with the microphone that was resolved within 24 hours of sending an email to customer service. This is unheard of to me. We’re out of the baby making business, but I have plenty of friends still in the market and I am quick to recommend a product by a company that cares for their customers.

We bought this as a second camera to add to our other boy's room and it married right to our existing setup of the same camera/monitor no problem. Pairing was easy and it's simple to switch back and forth between cameras. The picture quality is good, the zoom is good and being able to pan around our kids' rooms is a great feature. The ability to talk to them through the system is a great feature too. Would definitely buy more of these if need be.

Works as expected

This hooked up fine to my existing monitor. I put the monitor on scan mode when both kids are in their cribs, but it's simple to stop on one of the cameras by pressing the OK button on the top right of the parent unit (it took us awhile to figure this out). I would highly recommend mounting the camera directly over the crib as shown in my picture. With my first son, we placed it on a shelf off to the side, but we can't see half of the crib. This arrangement overhead allows us to view the entire crib.

Best camera on the market hands down!

Hands down this is the best baby monitor on the market and the best company. I had my first camera and monitor for 2 years- it has survived my toddler throwing it across the room multiple times when I had it sitting on his crib (it is now where he can't reach it). I love the thermometer on it, I look at it constantly- It made me realize my son's room had a heating/cooling problem that we had the HVAC company come out to correct. I love the how much it can turn- I can literally see my toddler in his room anywhere in his room when he gets out of bed and zoom in as close on my baby to even see him breathing. I now have a second child and bought the add on camera. I love the scan mode that it goes back and forth between cameras every few seconds. My monitor charging port broke a few weeks before my second son was born and wouldn't charge anymore, even though I was a year out of warranty Infant Optics replaced it free of charge. I received the replacement in 2 days too! I don't think I could survive without this camera.

So far the best baby monitor we own

We have 3 kids and after lots of research and reading reviews, I opted for the Infant Optics DXR-8 baby monitor. The image quality, range, and sound pick-up is very good and because we are often in the living room with our other kids (and kitchen) being able to bring the monitor with us while the baby is sleeping gives us peace of mind. I would recommend this monitor.

It's perfect! For the price

When u find your self in the baby monitor world it can be over whelming! So many brands, features, and pricey. So I did some research and found this brand and model. It's perfect! For the price, camera features, and multiple camera option, I was sold. Unfortunately about a month of getting our 2nd camera it stopped tilting down. Well I contacted the company and got wonderful customer service from Mae. It was immediately replaced and even rushed so I was only without a camera for 24 hours. I do understand that things happen but if a company is willing to fix it right away, it still deserves 5 stars. Thank u -Adrianna
