Great Little Wood Chipper

I don't have high expectations of this little wood chipper because I bought it refurbished. Each year we have to trim down five myrtle trees and they grow really fast, into full blown trees each year! I got this great idea to turn my myrtle tree limbs in to wood chips for my "back to Eden" garden, and this little SunJoe was perfect for the job. And, it held up, to my surprise to the job at hand. My neighbor was curious at what we were doing. As he watched, he decided it was time to trim his bushes. We noticed that he was doing so, and when we finished our job, we took SunJoe over to him. He was so happy to use our little wood chipper and his gave us some of his wood chips for our garden too! Well, this refurbished version held up to one season and kept going and going all day, so I have high hopes it will do well next season. If it hold up to a third season I will definitely feel it was well worth my money, but I got to say, I am very pleased for the time being.

Sturdy, efficient, and easy to use at a great price!

This is a great solution to handling the waste from shrubs and trees on several acres. It's not meant for large branches and limbs, but branches up to about an inch or so are chipped with no problem. Anything larger we use as firewood, so it's perfect for our needs. The unit was easy to put together - just put on the wheels and the stand with the tool supplied. I was up and running in a matter of minutes. I have used it several times with only one jam. A thick branch with unusual twists and turns jammed, but clearing the jam was super easy. I simply unplugged the unit, used the convenient knob to unscrew the top, and pulled the branch back out. The branch then fed through fine when reinserted. The blades seem very sturdy, the unit is easy to transport, and the price is great. I will still buy mulch for use directly against our house foundation, just in case anything I chip has pests. However, the Sun Joe makes short work of debris and the output is perfect for mulching around our property! I am left questioning why I didn't get one of these years ago!

The chips are pretty small.

Very impressed with this little chipper! I cut down 2 persimmon trees (very soft wood) and chipped all the branches up to 1" in diameter. I didn't need to let them dry out. The chipper never clogged. The chips are pretty small...perfect for the garden.

Great price and great condition.

As discribed and packaged well. I got the refurbished one but everything was there except the clip for the pushing paddle. This is not for large jobs but it works well for my patio and the ficus I have. I use it to mulch the leave that fall and the small pruned branches.
