I received this item on July 14, 2014. I immediatly opened it and took it outside and placed it on my front porch to begin charging it. That evening, I brought it in side and kept it under a floricent light all night long ( I have heard that this will also charge the lights or batteries). The next morning I installed it on my flage pole. It has worked very well every night since I installed it. Now, keeping in mind, the area I live in (northern California, and I do mean northern Ca. not San francisco) Crescent City, Ca. where it is always overcast or foggy, this flag pole light has operated perfectly each and every night without fail. I do wish though that it gave just a little more light as I am flying two flags and the bottom flag doesn't light up as much as I would like to see it. It does look wonderful at night, and especially when there is a slight breeze.I totally love this item. Thank you so much for a wonderful product.

I've been wanting to light up my flag for quite a while now and came across this little gem of a solar powered LED light. I do not have a end piece on my flag pole so I drilled a hole in the end cap which is plastic, put a washer over the hole in the light itself (the hole is about 1/2 in. in diameter and screwed the light to the end of the pole. Voila! an ez pz slight mounting modification and I had this up in the yard in minutes. See attached photo taken just as the sun was going down. We liked this so much I ordered another one for my 9/11 Honors Flag. As far as light output, it actually lights up my little patio. So far the charge is sufficient that the light is still on come morning. Love this product. well done.

I've had this item for 11 months as of today..It sits proudly and very brightly atop our twenty foot flagpole. Installation was a cinch. This thing illuminates a 300 square foot deck..and illuminates our Flags far better than I had expected. It did have one of the many LED bulbs stop functioning not long after I installed it, but that has nearly zero effect. This light is BRIGHT! We live in the Wilderness Bordering Sequoia National Park, so it is DARK at night..This light is so bright it effects the stargazing..If I could change or add a feature, it would be a remote on/off switch. That way I could turn it off while stargazing, or watching the International Space Station go over. However, for the money I paid for it, my expectations have been far exceeded. Funny Story, We were hosting a Birthday Party for our Daughter, (40th), and one of our friends got a little "enhanced" and thought it was a UFO!

We bought a telescoping flag pole and flag recently and one of the options was to purchase a solar light for the top. The light cost between $50-$60. I don’t remember the exact cost but we decided not to go with it for that price. While browsing Amazon a few days later I spotted this one with great reviews AND a low price. We ordered it and - it came right away and were so impressed! The light fit right on the top perfectly and came on the very first night and is beautiful! I would highly recommend this light. The picture doesn’t do it justice.

So far we like it very well. Easy to install with a telescoping flag pole. Much brighter than the ones we used in the past. Holds the power over night during the winter months which is a very nice thing.

It took me a couple of weeks to pull the trigger on this purchase. There is another brand that is twenty bucks more expensive, but I compared the features and they were exactly the same. 3 batteries and 6 solar cells, with the same amount of LED lights, so I bought this one. I figured if it didn't meet my expectations I would return it and try the other one. No Need To Return. I charged the light for an entire day in full sun. Then I took it into a closet and closed the door. I turned it on and nearly blinded myself. Seemed like plenty of light to me and wondered why some reviewers complained about it not being bright enough. Installation on my 20' flagpole was only a bit involved, because as others have pointed out, the standard mounting bolt that was on my ornament wasn't long enough to extend past the center hole in the light and reach the pole. I had a 3" long bolt with the right threads among my nut and bolts collection (probably less than $1 at local hardware store) and used that by cutting off the head of the bolt. Also, I had to create a "sleeve" that would fill the space around the narrow bolt because of the hole in the light was larger and I didn't want any potential for the light to move from center. For that, I just wrapped electrical tape around that part of the bolt that passed through the light hole until I had the right diameter to create a snug fit. Plenty Of Light When night came the light went on at almost 9:00 p.m., just after it got dark, and almost immediately my neighbors noticed my flag was lit. I received compliments from them all, telling me how great the U.S. flag looked lit up. I found the intensity perfect for my 20' pole (I can't speak for other heights). Yes, when unfurled in a breeze the light doesn't extend to the farthest point of my 3'x5' flag, but doing so would probably result in an angle of light that would shine directly into my neighbors windows. As it is, the light reaches the ground in approximately a 20' foot circle, which does well in illuminating my sidewalk and steps. I had a wake-up call from Mommy Nature at around 4:00 am in the morning, so I took a moment to look out my window. The light was still brightly lit. That was almost a full 7 hours of being on and it appeared it would make it to dawn without difficulty. It could be because the batteries are brand new, but I'm hoping it stays that way for quite awhile. Time will tell. UPDATE 9/7/14: The second day of use had me up at the crack of dawn (6 a.m.). A full 9 hours of light! I took 2 pictures and uploaded them to the customer images. Those from West Easton, PA were taken with my cell phone. Since this review doesn't cover a long-term ownership I will update it again, should it fail prematurely, or other circumstances require my downgrading it.

I love to display our country's flag. However have had a difficult time in finding a light that really lights the flag not the pole. I have ample charge to light the flag throughout the night,, at least during the summer hours. It was not as easy to place on our flag pole as stated. I have the type that the pole slides inside another pole to lower the flag. With a little adjustments we got it to work and I LOVE IT. RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY. The seller sent it before promised.

I had solar spotlight on my flag that I had to constantly pull up to mow and re-aim. When I tried to mount my spotlights on the pole aimed straight up, they got rain in them and corroded. THIS was an answer to my prayer! It just screws on to the top of the pole with the existing ball at the top. It lights up my flag all night, even when we have several cloudy/rainy days in a row! My neighbors are jealous!

Wife had my son buy this for me for Christmas! What a great surprise and excellent gift. It isn't a spotlight and doesn't blind the neighbors, but what it does do it supply light to my flag. Our national symbol of pride has never stood out so much in my front yard. It was very simple and easy to install. I did take some electrical tape and wound it around the threaded rod to my ball a few times until the light fit snug, then I slid the light over it and snugged it up on the flagpole cap. In the dead of night my flag stand out against the darkness, that is what I wanted, that is what my son gave me. UPDATE 1: Over one year and the light is still doing it's job. Haven't even had to replace the batteries. UPDATE 2: Over 3 years old and still doing well. Still using original batteries.

This is a great produce for a great price. It works well and I can tell you from experience, very durable. We had some big wind about a month ago that snapped my flag pole in half and this light fell all the way to the ground. I assumed it was done for, but I put the pole back up with it at the top and works just like it did when I took it out of the box. Haven't had to do anything with it.
