Exactly as described. Love it!
I just wanted something small, yet powerful enough, to heighten the sound of my keyboard and vocals. This is perfect! I got one to see how I like it, and plan on purchasing another of the exact same thing so that I will have a richer sound. Excited to use it!

Great Little Speaker
The speaker was use for a senior's group that just can't hear that well anymore. There was about 28 in the first use and everyone commented on how good it sounded. Highly recommend.

Great sound compact package. Best value.
Great sound in a relatively small package. Set up easily with wireless mic set. Multiple input options. Great for karaoke or PA system.

It has a good deal of mid-range punch
I just got this RPG8 last week......I have been involved with sound systems, mostly moderate to small, for decades. THIS speaker really is something! It has a good deal of mid-range punch, which is critical for getting you vocals out. The back panel has the perfect arrangement of inputs---both XLR and 1/4" -----NICE. I A/B'd the RPG8 against an Alto Trouper, and it (the RPG8) was much louder--and clean. The Trouper is twice the price. Alto's Trouper is a good product...very good, and it serves a purpose. For my purpose the RPG8 was the speaker I decided to keep. Rockville's use of an A/B class amp in this unit, as opposed to the D Class amps that are so broadly used today, is a very cool thing. A/B amps have better specs than D Class amps--in general. D Class are lighter and cooler, but I find that A/B class amps are sonically superior. MY ONLY concern is----will this RPG8 be durable and be trouble free. (??) I have never owned a Rockville product in the past, so I have no idea of true and lasting quality. This is the BIG question. There is no handle built into the current RPG8, --I wish there was...and the company does not make a travel cover for it----bad. I have to say---I emailed them. The response I got was pretty poor. Not very professional handling. They need to work on this.

Bang for the Buck
Pros This is the highest rated, lowest priced PA speaker on Amazon. Here they're used for our projector outdoors (we live in bumf∆k rural Georgia) and they're amazing. I'ma add the Rockville subwoofer for extra punch. All y'all c'mon. We'll get them ribs smoking at noon and be ready to eat at sundown. Cons No carry handle.

great quality sound for the price
I am using this for karaoke. The sound is outstanding for the price I paid. I have owned other speakers that were much more expensive and didn't sound as good. I am using the speaker on a stand which enhances the sound in the room I have my karaoke system.

Impressive & Loud
I agonized for days on which speaker to buy. Sooo many options available to fill my need to expand upon the stage area to places far over to the sides. I am very pleased and also amazed at what these speakers can easily put out. Like others said, I experienced very bad hum at times. The solution was in the manual. Use TRS phone cables instead of TR. Hum...gone. Final conclusion: For now 5 out of 5 stars. In addition to using them for events, I can plug these up in my workshop and listen to some decent music while I'm working. These are my second pair of Rockville speakers. The first ones were a pair of passive 18' subwoofers. Solid performance so far.

Bought for my Karaoke setup, works great! Bass is a bit thin but for my needs it is fine. Sound is fairly directional and works a lot better higher up, so stands are recommended. Good speaker for the price, makes lots of sound.
