• SoundSeal Technology which delivers ultra-quiet performance versus a standard disposer
  • MultiGrind Technology , with two-stage grind to quickly grind virtually any food waste
  • 40 oz. Stainless steel grind chamber and grind components for longevity
  • 3/4 Horsepower Dura-Drive Induction Motor; power cord not included
  • Magnetic CoverStart activation means no wall switch is required. The robust, chrome plated stopper holds back water when needed, and will only turn on the disposer when manually activated

Replaced my old disposal which worked fine but was loud and required reaching and flipping a switch every time. This one is so much quieter and was very easy to install. I like that the drain cover stays in place to allow water to drain but can be left in place to allow water to drain and prevent stuff from falling in that shouldn't, or lifted out to allow large food particles to wash into the disposal. A slight twist of the drain cover activates the disposal. I'm very happy with this and recommend it.

Delivery was as expected from Amazon, fast and reliable. Product is very heavy duty and of very high build quality. Once installed, the unit is as quiet as I have heard a waste disposal be, and the function of the magnetic stopper is excellent. Not only does it provide way more safety (we have two young boys so this was key for me) but it just works great, once you get used to the mechanism and how it 'feels' when it should be on & running. The general urge is to push it down tight into the whole and turn it but you quickly realize there's a knack to it and it's not designed to go all the way down. The stopper doesn't plug in all the way and you need to start it at about 5-to the hour and turn it to 12 to engage it and make it turn on. I noticed other reviews which complained that when the stopper's in water can fill up in the sink. That is true in the sense that, as with a normal sink stopper, if it is fully pushed down it doesn't let water drain. However, the design of the stopper, when in 'functional' mode, is that it sits up slightly from that position and allows water to freely drain down either side of it, which is an excellent design feature. So, it's very rare you would ever have water fill up into the sink, unless you don't actually know how to operate the stopper. All in all, this unit performs really well, is quiet as you could hope for with a waste disposal and does its' job.

This is one hefty disposal. Very quiet. It comes with a very nice cover with automatic start. I missed that when I purchased this unit, and purchased an air switch. You do not need a wall switch or air switch as the cover turns the disposal on when you twist it into the drain. Very happy.

Fantastic. Quiet; it also dampens the sound of the dishwasher emptying. Powerful and wonderful to use. My plumber installed it, so I can’t comnent on any details around that, but he installed a similar one for me ten years ago that he provided. I can’t remember if this came with a cord kit or I had to buy one, so you don’t know, check on it.

The installation was really easy. The only problems I had was lifting the unit because it is heavy. I supported it on a paint can and different size pots. If I had phone books it would have been easier. The other problem I had was squeezing the hose clamp but that was just me being stupid...got the pliers and problem solved. When I turned the electricity back on and turned on the disposer I had to look into the unit to see that it worked it was so quiet I didn't even know it worked! The seal on the stopper is excellent. I'm able to fill the sink. So far I'm very pleased. And it came so fast and was packaged in another box so it was well protected.

We bought this to replace a noisy 13-year-old 1 HP Waste King batch-feed unit whose circular mounting ring snapped from corrosion and left the unit half hanging from the plumbing connections. Other than the noisy operation, the Waste King was sturdy and trouble-free. However, the corrosion problem worried us. So we looked for another brand of batch-feed unit and our plumber mentioned the InSinkErator, and its little brother, Badger. My better half is partial to batch-feed disposers because they are safer: The cover must be place and is used to turn the unit on, so no chance of it being accidently powered on with a hand inside the unit. This from raising 3 very inquisitive toddlers. True, the batch-feed units are more expensive, but to our mind the safety aspect overrides the cost. Installation by our plumber was straight-forward and it connected readily to the existing drain line and our dishwasher. We used the new InSinkErator tail-pipe and sink flange that came with the unit. The electrical connection was via a wall-switch that powered the outlet under the sink. The wall switch wasn't needed but our home was built to accommodate a continuous-feed disposal -- we leave the switch on all the time and simply use the magnetic cover to turn on the disposal. Anyway, the plumber hooked every thing up but thought something was wrong because he couldn't hear the disposal when he turned it on. Well, it was on but it hummed so quietly and so unlike the usual disposals he installs that he thought it wasn't running. That sold us on the InSinkErator. Long story short: My better half loves it and would fight tooth-and-nail to keep it. I can now hear the TV when the disposal is running. We can highly recommend this unit without reservation.

We've owned two of these garbage disposals. One at our precious house and we liked it so much we just purchased this one for our new house/kitchen remodel. Why I like it: 1. You don't need a wall switch (that you turn on thinking it's a light but instead jump at the grinding sound). 2. It feels safe because you won't accidentally turn it on with your fingers inside because you need the batch cover in place. 3. It's very powerful. Take note that it's a pretty big machine and the plumber had to work hard to get it to fit under our extra deep sink. (I think this is because he had drain pipe in wall located too high at first, and slope to drain wasn't steep enough- don't make that mistake!) He also said he wasn't able to use the below sink air vent (used in some newer construction) with this setup (our vent is up through roof and part of waste line-pretty common). Hope that info. helps save another some time and money!

I have installed this brand in two kitchens over the past two years and love it! You may or may not like this newer model with the added protection of the locking cover. Although water flows past the cover when it is in place, food does not, of course. When I am preparing a large meal with lots of peelings, the cover can become an annoyance unless you remember to remove it after processing each batch and not let additional waste build up in the sink as you prep more food. But for safety sake, it is a great idea for the young and the elderly.

Unit is relatively large and operates quietly and without much vibration. Installation was quite easy but know that the electrical fitting to connect either a typical cord or electrical conduit is not included. The unit switches on/off via a magnet inside of the drain plug so no more mechanical switches. This is a really nice feature. One of the few "batch" units available for those who do not have a wall switch. Only time will tell if it is reliable but first impressions are positive. Edit:. After a couple months of use still working like day 1. Quiet and powerful unit. Not quite as fast as the old one but the old one was much louder and vibrated the entire sink. Edit #2: After a year of use still works as well as day 1. No leaks, no corrosion on the metal parts, no performance issues whatsoever. Still very happy with this purchase.

I ordered this to replace a much older unit (purchased by previous owners of my home.) As in other reviews, my very handy husband was easily able to install it. Unfortunately, the unit, once installed, would not turn on. We checked the outlet and the breaker. They were fine. After closer inspection at the bottom of the unit, my husband noticed that there was a crimp with only one wire connected. Once the companion wire was connected, and replugged, the unit purred ( yes, it's really quiet!) to life. We are very happy with this purchase, and only mention this little snafu in case someone else should encounter the same problem.
