After 32 pounds lost, I'm pretty thankful for the role GLG Collagen has played!

I have used great lakes collagen for about 7 months now. Most days I have 3 tablespoons of collagen mixed into 10 oz of orange juice. Usually I'll drink half of the drink before a workout and half of it after. While I'm working out, I have some fuel to allow me to perform at my highest level. After I work out, I have some fuel to feed my muscles and keep my body from because stressed or starved. I've also added this powder into brownies, coconut flour pizza crust, smoothies, quiche, and more! After trying a few things, I realized that more often than not.. it works in recipes! I started using collagen as a way to boost my protein intake while on a new fitness journey. The collagen has helped me increase protein and also lose a significant amount of weight. Since starting my program, I have lost 32 pounds and cut my body fat percentage in half. I dropped from a size 10/12 to a size 4/6. Although it wasn't the collagen alone, it never is one thing, it was one piece of the puzzle that lead to my success.

Long review but worth the read.

I am fairly young, at 29 yrs., and have had issues with stiff joints ever since childhood such as cracking wrists, stiff fingers and locking ankles when jumping or going down stairs. I have been taking this supplement twice a day for about a month and am feeling a TREMENDOUS difference in my joints. But that's not it, my skin is loving it too! I have always had great skin, but this is making it even better, it already feels firmer and am noticing the fine lines (crows feet) by my eyes are dissapearing! Also, I have been experiencing the best quality sleep I've ever had, my baby sleeps better too! If these things aren't good enough already, I am seeing my waist slim as well. It's really insane the changes I've seen. I had a baby 4 months ago and got a few small stretch marks that are hardly noticeable now also. I have not otherwise changed anything about my routine, so I know it's this stuff! (side note: the cracks and stiffness were getting a lot worse with breastfeeding over the past 4 months.) My hair and nails are much stronger, shinier and healthier too. I believe that how I am taking this is making all of the difference. In the a.m., I mix a heaping Tbsp with boiling water, organic lemon slices and a half Tbsp organic, raw locally sourced honey. In the evening, I drink 1 heaping Tbsp with warmed organic, raw, unpasteurized locally sourced milk that is grass-fed start to finish. I've always heard that warm raw milk can make you sleep better because of the enzymes, but with this, it makes all the difference. The lemon water (first thing in the am) helps your body to detox in a gentle way. The milk combo at night gives your body protein to build lean muscle and keep in mind, your body does its recovering while you sleep as well, so you're giving yourself a shot of rich vitamins, minerals and good fats necessary to heal. Also, mid-day, I take a Trace Minerals power pak, love these, I get an extra dose of the high quality minerals I need. I am breast feeding and I find I need an extra boost throughout the day. I do not notice any flavor, but my boyfriend does - he says it's totally not unbearable but can taste a slight 'beefy' note. Sometimes when I'm in a rush I will add it to my morning coffee. I only drink one 8oz cup of good quality coffee as caffeine will dry your bones out, but I believe coffee has some good benefits also in moderation, like helping to keep my sanity for one hahhah. One importank thing to note, I tried to increase my dosage to about two tbsp in one serving and got a headache, and I rarely ever get those so I can easily attribute that to the extra dosage. Think I was getting obsessive because of the results I've seen lol. I literally can't say enough about this stuff. I do yoga and my boyfriend works a physically demanding construction job(9 yrs in construction) and we both are feeling a huge difference in the fluidity of our joints! Do I get to be a paid spokesperson yet?!

I would definitely recommend anyone to give this at least 4 months to ...

I've waited a while to give a review for this product to be sure if it is working for me. I started taking this product in Aug. 2017 (2 TB twice a day in my coffee) mainly for hair loss and joint support. I also noticed in the reviews that some were giving it to their dogs for skin conditions....I have a 9 yr old shih tzu. So, when I started taking it, I started sprinkling a little in her water bowl every day. Slowly but surely I have lost less and less hair when I shampoo and about 4 months in down to just a few hair strands in my hand and new hair growing in. What hair I had around my face that seemed to stay short is finally starting to get longer, so far by a few inches. Stronger nails and some improvement in my skin. I would definitely recommend anyone to give this at least 4 months to start to visually see results. I am thrilled that I am seeing improvements and will continue to use the full amount recommended and looking forward to what the next 6 months will look like. And as far as my dog...3 months into giving it to her we no longer have to have her anal glands expressed, which was something we have done for her every 4-6 weeks for 9 years!! I was shocked when the vet said her anal glands were empty!! They are always full every time. So for the last 2 1/2 months they have been empty. The day after I gave her the collagen she was like a different dog! She has some arthritis in one of her hips and has problems sometimes going up stairs or jumping up on the couch. She was running full speed ahead the next day and bouncing around...I thought, no way. She's been like that for 5 months now and that's the only thing that's changed. Needless to say I love this product and my dog, Raven, does too!! I put it in my coffee in the morning and decaf at night and have not had a problem with any taste at all. I did have some bloating issues for a few months, but that seems to have gone away. I will continue taking this product every day!! I have pics I took before of my hair. I will get them organized and put on here as soon as I can.

Helpful for my Allergies

I love this product. I have been taking it as directed for about two and a half months now. I have an auto immune disease where my joints ache and seasonal allergies are off the charts. I suspected that I had a leaky gut due to the different prescription meds I had to take in order to keep my condition under control. A leaky gut can wreak all kinds of havoc with the immune system as food particles escape the gut and enter the bloodstream. The particles then get attacked by the body's immune system which then gives us allergies, pain, swelling, etc.. After reading reviews, I started taking the collagen to improve my arthritis pain. I haven't seen much improvement with that, maybe I haven't taken it long enough, but one thing I do notice is that my allergies are so much better. I have been on monthly allergy shots for years now and still have to take two AllegraD's per day. Since taking the collagen, I've dropped the AllegraD's and all my nose sprays. Also the shot reactions are a lot smaller then they used to be. My arms used to swell at the injection site and stay swollen for a couple of days. Now, hardly anything happens. Best of all, my dairy allergy seems to have abated quite a bit. If I ate 1/4 cup of cottage cheese my sinuses would immediately congest. Now there are no symptoms. Of course that doesn't mean I'm going to go off and eat an entire hunk of Brie, even though I'd like to, but it's nice to know I can eat small amounts of dairy now with no repercussions. At any rate I am very pleased with the product. For those that are interested, my blood and urine is tested every 3 months because of my condition. I do think the collagen did change some of my blood values but not adversely. So if you get your blood tested be sure and have a look see, to see if you have any changes that may or may not be good. I have since gotten my husband and sister started on it. I hope this product works well for everyone. I highly recommend it!

Saving My Stomach

I love this product! Started taking it because my doctor can't find out what went wrong with my digestion and told me to just take prilosec the rest of my life. I found this, and it's been working great! No more prilosec. And maybe I'll see some other benefits of skin and joint care as well.

Good product, but cheaper on the Great Lakes website

I started taking this because some of the research that has come out regarding this product suggests that it can slow or prevent cartilage deterioration, and I had part of my lateral meniscus removed at a young age. I haven't noticed a significant reduction in pain, but anecdotally it appears to make my facial hair grow in fast and thicker. I would suggest comparing prices, because this pack costs $22.74 per can, whereas you can get a 12 pack on their website that lowers the cost to $18.33 per can (all prices before taxes).

Great product!

I accidentally came across this product while surfing on Amazon and read the many positive reviews. I purchased a can and noticed an improvement within a few days. Specifically, I had a shoulder injury from almost a year ago that I went to several months of physical therapy for. The pain was always there until I took this product. I dissolved a heaping tablespoonful into a glass of water twice daily and drank it. The easiest way is to just drop the powder on top of the water and give it a few minutes to become saturated. Once that happens I stir it and drink. I also notice that my joints do not make clicking sounds when I get up in the morning and I don't hurt after regular gym workouts. For me this has truly been a life changing product and I will continue to purchase it.

Arrived in a timely fashion

My husband and I have been using this product now for approx 3 years. We put a heaping tablespoon in our morning coffee everyday. You cannot tell - I drink mine black. Buying it through US I save over $50 (daughter lives there) per 4 pack order as opposed to cost in Canada. As to pain relief.....I know it does not affect my husband but then nothing for pain relief does. For myself I am not 100% pain free but do feel my joints are in a really good place - very mobile with full range of motion.Hair, skin & nails are great. Other acquaintances that I have swear by these types of products so it is an individual matter.

Visible results in my face. Joint improvement.

This is one of the few products that has produced visible results. I generally quite healthy and find that most health products don't seem to make much difference. I am 62. After taking this for a while, my face is much less drawn as some of the collagen has gone under the skin on my face. I seem to notice a difference in joint movement as well.

This collagen works awesome!!

This collagen works awesome!!!! I started using it myself to help w/ my skin & joints. It was working great for me so, I decided to try it on my 9 1/2 year old Lab dog who had been having horrible joint & ligament issues. This collagen works sooo much better than anything that I ever got from the vet or the pet store. He's finally doing & walking great!!! Thank you soon much for this AWESOME product!!! WE LOVE IT!!!!!!!! :)
