3 years running...
I've had one of these for about 3 years now. Still together and still works fine. No issues really. My cat likes to take food from his bowl and eat it on the carpet. I use this daily to clean this up. Also litter around his box. I use it occasionally between vacuuming to do quick touch up of cat hair or sock lint. Mine was refurbished and I think I paid less than $30 for it. Good value for the money for sure.

The only thing that I don't like is the way the new one has to be ...
My sweeper arrived quickly and it was less expensive through Amazon. The only thing that I don't like is the way the new one has to be emptied. The one that I replaced was identical to the new one but just had a little drawer that pulls out to empty. The new one takes a couple of different steps to get it emptied and I just like the older method better. Sometimes making something better is not always necessary so I don't think the way to empty the new one is really superior to the older model.

This is perfect. I use it primarily in my kitchen but ...
I was looking for something to help replace my broom. With 4 kids I am always having to sweep and mop and wanted something that would save a little time and my back. This is perfect. I use it primarily in my kitchen but I can use it easily in my bathroom and on carpet as well. It's not heavy and has good suction for what I need. I can use this and then my Shark Steam Pocket Mop and it makes keeping my floors clean so much easier and it works better.

Amazing light weight sweeper .
I had checked around for the best price for this sweeper and found Amazon had the best price. This is an amazing light weight sweeper .I use it for flat floors and light carpet . Love the way you can empty the dirt out without touching . Took me a couple tries to get the hang of it , but after I got use to it this little sweeper can't be beaten . Give it a try , I think you will like it also .

My second one of these
I love my Shark and this is the same as my first one. The first one I had for about 5 years and the handle cracked off the base so I looked for same thing as a replacement. 5 years was acceptable longevity. I saw my first one being used in a restaurant several years ago and knew I wanted one. I keep the Shark in the kitchen for quick clean ups and it is very light weight to take to other places in the house, wherever needed. Recommend highly.

Absolutely the best!
Absolutely the best cordless sweeper--anywhere! I have 4 of them on various levels. I have not had any real trouble with battery charges on any of them--and over all this picks up better than higher priced Shark products. I tried many other brands-and nothing works like this. (The cordless dirt devil-was completely worthless). I give this as a gift to others. I wish Shark would refocus on this--- as a cordless vac is SO helpful . And I really dislike the whole idea with the canister.

Good Rechargeable Floor and Carpet Sweeper
My husband and I purchased one of these Shark Cordless Carpet Sweepers and couple of years ago. At the time I mentioned to my husband not to leave it plugged in all the time. Just charge it up and unplug until it needs charging again. Right around that time I needed several surgeries on my knee and was out of commission for a long while , so my husband took care of the household chores which was really helpful so I couldn't rag on him about plugging in a carpet sweeper. Last fall he passed away suddenly and I downsized to a smaller place where they had just installed light beige carpets (UGH hard to maintain). I have a bigger vacuum I use weekly and I have cleaning ladies come in every couple of weeks to do the heavy cleaning and wanted to use the Shark regularly around the cat's litter box, the kitchen and a quick run over the carpeting especially fuzz and things that tend to show on a light carpet. I found what I didn't want, which was that every time I used the Shark the battery would discharge really fast. I tried another brand whose name is synonymous with floor care. I had the sweeper a week and a half and it stopped working. I performed trouble shooting and charging to no avail. I reading some of the reviews, I realized that others have had the same problem with that particular sweeper, so I decided to go back with the Shark. I checked the reviews which were somewhat confusing. Some reviewers said that it didn't get along baseboards while others said it did. some said it only picked up going forward and when you pulled it back, it put what you had just swept up back on the floor. Well I have been using it for about a week and here is my experience so far with it. It stated in the directions what I already knew, to charge it fully and then leave it unplugged until it needs charging again, which I did. It picks up well both on my hardwood kitchen floor, my tile bathroom floor and carpeting through the rest of the place. I ran it along baseboards and it seemed to pick up well. I especially noted that it picked up well along my electric baseboard heat in the bathroom in particular. I pushed and pulled it forward and back and as of now I didn't notice that it put anything that it had just swept up back onto the floor. It also has run about 40 minutes in total over the week and it does not need to be recharged, yet. So far I am pleased with the performance. If there is any change in my evaluation of how well it works, I will come back in and update it. This also has an easier way to empty the dirt cup, than the previous Shark model that we owned. Also several reviewers complained about the suction, but since this is a carpet SWEEPER and not a VACUUM I don't believe that it has suction so to speak of . Rather there is a rotating brush bar that sweeps the debris up into the dirt cup. I hope this is helpful to someone because I literally spent hours researching the different sweepers to see which one was the best for my needs. UPDATE: 5/25/15 I have been using this Shark Sweeper for four months now and it works great. When I run it along the baseboards or along the bottom of my kitchen cabinets it works well and seems to pick up everything. I run it over my fatigue mat in front of the sink and it picks up well. My daughter and her fiancé bought me a Eureka vacuum for the carpeting (the Shark vacuum with the motor up by the top of the handle is a real back killer and the collection cup is too small and you have to take it apart into five pieces just to get to the cup and one of the filters is cardboard so it is going to be sold the vacuum that is not this sweeper), so I don't need to use this sweeper too often for the carpeting now. Like my original review, this sweeper is very good. It DOES pick up along baseboards and along the bases of the cabinets, in addition to the floors. I don't find that it sweeps up and spits out. It just sweeps everything in its path and does it so quickly that I am glad that I don't have to pull out the dustpan and broom and sweep and that would take a whole lot longer. I recommend this sweeper even more now that I have used it for the past four months.

picks up dirt
This sweeper really picks up a lot of dirt on my wooden floors and carpet. I have animals that track in a lot of junk from outside and I can use this sweeper between times when I vacuum. I was really surprised how much dirt and animal hair it picks up and it is easy to clean.

Works like a charm!
I was fixing to return this because I thought it was defective. It was my mistake. I thought it wouldn't release on the bottom but, You have to touch the big black button on the right side with your foot and then it dislodges from the rest of it and then you push the button on the pole. It releases the chamber so you can dispense the dirt and debris. I hope this helps you to understand it so you won't think it's defective like I thought. I will be keeping this little beauty.
