Great Amp for Electroforming!

I have had this amp for about a year now and it is extremely reliable! It has done everything that I have needed to do with it and has never given me any problems. Great product and reliable manufacturer!

Nice piece of equipment so far

For my uses - electroplating 3D printed parts - this has done an superb job. Huge step up from simple battery array - I can see the amps change as the plate is layed down, the sockets and included aligator clip wires are a bit short, but long enough connect with whatever I'm using for the cathode and anode. It's small and quiet, though the cooling fan is a bit louder than you'd expect. Nice piece of equipment so far.

Nice little power supply

It's a nice little power supply. It does what it says. Power seems clean and stable. Gives a nice little ka-chunk when you turn it on which was slightly disconcerting the first time I heard it but does not appear to do any harm. The leads kit it comes with is nice and the binding posts on the front are good and solid although I would have prefered them to be just a bit further apart to avoid accidents when hooking up bare wire. The unit had a pretty pronounced "fresh paint" smell - which is pretty common with cheap overseas-produced electronics. Took about a week to dissipate. All in all a good purchase. Would buy it again.

Great value!

Strong plastic-like smell out of the box, as other reviewers have also mentioned. It's been in open air for a few weeks and that has helped to make the smell less noticeable but when I store it in a bin, I can still faintly smell the plastic when I open the bin. Aside from the smell, it is a bit clunky and heavy but nothing beyond similar products. Considering the other options I was looking at were sometimes even double the price of this, these minor issues are easily forgotten. I really like that the knobs are sensitive and responsive, which allows me to have control at minute increments. The display is nice, big and easy to read, both in dim and lit room. Great value!

Works great, very happy

I just used this for the first time to copper electroform rings. It worked perfectly, I had no problems with it. It's very quiet. Every so often the fan would come on to keep it cool and that was pretty quiet as well. I wasn't expecting much as some reviewers had problems with it and it is quite inexpensive but I'm very happy with it.

So nice, we bought it twice!

My wife uses this for electroplating handcrafted jewelry, and it's become an absolutely indispensable tool in her arsenal. One day, we thought it stopped working, and it was right in the middle of a crucial project. We quickly ordered another through Electronnix, and it was here within days. But it turns out that nothing was wrong with the original, it was just the solution we were using. Electronnix and Amazon quickly and easily accepted the return of the one we'd just ordered and processed the refund. Lessons learned: the Tekpower TP1803D is a solid piece of equipment, and Electronnix is the place to order it from. Best price and service!

Great Beginners Rectifier for the Cost! Highly Recommend

I receive this item in great condition & fast shipment! I have use it for electroforming crystals & it works wonderfully! Excellent bench power supply.

I use this for bench testing various automotive components, LEDs, speaker amplifiers, etc. Works painlessly and the unit itself is very high quality. Highly recommended. Nice to have the voltage/current limiters when testing sensitive electronics like LEDs, which makes this a huge step up from cheaper power supplies.

A very nice piece of equipment

This is an excellent piece of equipment and a good value relative to competing options. The included probes are a nice touch. You have to go slowly to get the precise voltage and current you want, but can be done with a small amount of effort. I wish the current showed one more decimal place, but that is not a major problem. I have not experienced any of the odor problems a couple of others reported. Amazon reports that there is a newer model, but this model is still current per the manufacturer's website. The two models Amazon point you are the TP1505 and the TP3005. Both cost more and offer 5 amps. However, if 18 volts and 3 amps are adequate for your needs, this one is a better value as there are no other apparent tradeoffs.

Good for the price

For the price I paid it is more than capable especially for what I use it for. It is not without it's quirks, as long as you are aware of them and are not after very precise control it is more than enough. Survived the shipping to my location and arrived in working order, have already used it many times for powering simple circuits and other electronic products I don't have a power supply or battery for. If, however, you require precise control or your circuits/electronics then look elsewhere at a more suitable and expensive product.
