Great for my purpose: sleep sounds

I don't use this for my alarm or as a radio. For my purposes (sleep sounds and just to have a clock in the room), it's great. I like that you can dim or completely turn off the display light. Best part for me is that the volume controls for the sleep sounds are great - it can go from very quiet to very loud. I just had to return a different HoMedics device because even the lowest volume setting was much too loud for me.

Functional AF!!!

This is the swiss army knife of alarm clocks!! It's a product that delivers on its promises. The sounds are good.. just like any other sound machine IMO. The radio feature is nice, I like to listen sometimes while cleaning house. It has great volume for all sound functions. I don't find the light bothersome.. you can turn it off lol. The projection is also handy, I have it projected beside my TV screen so i'll know when to go to sleep! Alarm function also works. pleased all around.

This one is almost as good as the one that finally died

I had a Phillips sound machine for 15+ years that was an insomniac dream. I have several devices that are adequate. This one is almost as good as the one that finally died. I have trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. I ruminate, and I hear EVERY LITTLE SOUND that can wake you up. Pros: you can dim the display to very dark. (Light is the enemy). It is easy to set time, alarm. Relatively small footprint. Cons: if you adjust anything, dim lighting disappears. So then you are in the dark, annoying your husband, to get the setting you thought you had. More of a problem than you would think. After many weeks, I am upgrading my review to 5 stars. I added tape to the sound button to that I could locate it in the dark. Learned that I had to set the brightness to dark BEFORE I set alarm, all is good. Leaned that I could hit the volume to turn off the alarm. Still not quite a 5, but a 4.8. And definitely better than anything else on the market, I am purchasing another for our vacation home.

Sound machine first, alarm clock second

Bought as a present for my 13 year old, who got into the habit of sleeping with a fan. She also needs the sound feature when we go visit my family, who blare the tv loudly at night. Its a little boxy-ish but lightweight enough to be portable. The projector doesn't rotate, but the focus on it can be adjusted. She has used the alarm clock beep wakeup (not the radio yet) a few times. I love the projector feature the most, followed by battery backup, which we already had to use. If I could make a suggestion for this model, it would be to change the shape and color. I'm not a fan of white appliances in any room. But, despite how it looks, the clock does everything we wanted it to do.

Love it

We’ve been using this for 2 months now in my child’s nursery. It has a great white noise sound thats perfect for baby nursery and the volume is easy to adjust. I love that it has a clock and projector, making it easy to keep track of time during middle of the night feedings.

It is perfect for what we wanted

We ordered this needing both a sound machine and an alarm clock and read reviews on several clocks. It is perfect for what we wanted, PLUS it has a projector so that if you want the alarm to go off and you can see what time it is, you can aim the projector on the ceiling so you don't even have to roll over. :) So far, so good. We would recommend this to anyone who needs both a sound machine AND an alarm clock! :)

Can’t believe there are bad reviews

This dream machine sound maker, projector, alarm clock, radio is absolutely fantastic! Can’t belive anyone could write that it’s too loud. It’s sound can be turned down to a reasonable level, and it can be loud enough to hear from the next room if there are hearing impAired person that need this alarm clock. The sounds DO NOT sound like they are from a tin can like some reviews read. It’s just their phone and how they took the video to make it appear like it sounds like that. It has a nice full, mature sound that will lull you to sleep fast! I’d buy this thing again if given the chance! The time projector can be moved and focused on the ceiling. This thing is amazing!

Soothing

I enjoy this clock radio for the exact reason I bought it- the sounds. The sounds are soothing, and I can make them as loud or as quiet as I want them. Also, the clock projects the time onto the wall or ceiling. I prefer the ceiling. It is affordable compared to others. I didn't need anything extravagant. I just really needed the sounds, and the clock, and this suits the bill perfectly.

Great to drown out sounds so you can sleep!

I love this thing! I bought it during law school because I had a neighbor who was so noisy, it prevented me from sleeping and studying. It took a few nights to get used to, but now, it drowns out so much noise and I sleep like a brick. I even used it when my puppy was very young and had separation issues. Plus, it has 12 or 24 hour options--great for preventing mishaps with setting an alarm for pm instead of am. The only criticism is that the projection light is BRIGHT (but can be turned off). The backlight for the clock is also bright, but can also be turned off.

Wonderful Alarm Clock!

Wonderful alarm clock! The different nature sounds help to create a white noise that improves my sleep. I live in a large city, so there are times I can hear urban noises at night--sometimes the distant siren sounds, for example, sent a small alarm though my brain that woke me. I also have kids, so I do not sleep with earplugs. This is the best solution and I am lulled to sleep with the white noise. I stay asleep! I also like how the time display will light up by a press of the button on top. I can also illuminate the time on my ceiling if I want. The alarm has been reliable and the volume controls are great. This is a wonderful purchase for me.
