I have used this for three things: 1. Charging two Nexus 4 Android devices via the 2.1 ports and a radio transmitter via the 1.0 port. 2. Powering/charging my laptop. 3. Powering a 500w PA, large amp, and electronic drum pad (all at the same time, no joke) for playing music outside. I use this thing constantly. It has never let me down and has lasted a very long time; I'm still using it today. The fan is a little loud when you turn the switch on, BUT you can use all USB ports WITHOUT turning the switch on. I don't think most people know that.

Great For Travel Trailer

This is the 3rd BESTEK inverter model that I have purchased in the past 5 years. I have it hard wired into the travel trailer 12 volt TV power adapter with an inline 10amp fuse. The first one lasted less than 3 years of light use only when dry camping to charge mobile devices and to power a small LED TV. At about the 2 year mark, the USB ports would no longer provide power but had no effect on the AC outlets so it no longer worked for our needs. I purchased another one and shortly thereafter sold the trailer. Most of the older trailers supply one 12 Volt socket for your TV so this model is perfect for RV travelers. You can simultaneously charge 4 mobile devices without having to turn on the inverter thanks to the "pass through" technology. Only when you plug in to the AC outlets do you need to power on the inverter. The fan runs continuously but not loud enough to draw attention to when watching TV. Just remember you are limited to 8 amps for the TV outlet even though the inverter has an inline 30 amp glass fuse so don't try to power a hair dryer, flat iron or heater or you'll surely blow the fuse in your trailer and overload the inverter.

Does exactly what it says without fail. Great product.

I had wired this into my 2015 171 R-Pod camp trailer. The wife watches a lot of TV at night, and we never camp where there is shore power. Also, I wanted some USB plugs to keep the phones and walkie talkies charged. It's mounted on the wall and looks/works terrific. Great product very well build.

Great option for keeping devices charged on the road

We bought this for a road trip to keep our phones, tablets, low-wattage computer and handheld game systems charged up while we traveled. This little device performed wonderfully. I placed it on the center console of our extended cab truck and while there is a fan to keep the device cool, it's just a little louder than a whisper. Devices used on our trip included two smart phones on the 2.4A USB ports, a tablet on the 1.0A port, and two devices on the AC plugs, a Nintendo Switch wall charger and a low wattage laptop/tablet hybrid device.

Works great and gives me the amps I need.

My cigarette lighter only has a 15 amp wire, so that maxes out at 180 watts before the fuse blows. This baby right here is as close as I am going to get. And it works great, I love being in the passenger seat using my laptop. You can also use it to plug in other simple devices like a speaker. Just make sure your devices are under 16 amps total or the thing could blow or just hopefully shut off.

Is it every day

I do home health and drive an older car. I use this every day to charge my laptop and my other electronic devices. It does make some noice every once in a while- I smack it once and it usually goes away (I'm not mechanically inclined like some other reviewers). Only pitfall is that it uses the one cigarette lighter in my car. I have to use the other one in my middle console to power my GPS unit. The new unit looks like they've addressed this little issiue.

Great for charging drones/camera gear on our weekend adventures!

Bought this to charge my drone/camera gear while out on weekend adventures. Build quality is great and the 4 USB ports are great for charging cameras/batteries. The 3 AC outlets are perfectly spaced to use those large wall adapters or camera battery chargers. It has a built in fan that runs all the time but I can't hear it over the road noise. With the engine off it works flawlessly using the trunk cigarette lighter port on my 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander. I have left it running overnight and it did not drain my battery, though the devices it was charging were probably fully charged after several hours. However, in my 2008 Nissan Armada it will turn on for a few seconds, then off again, and continue to do this until you start the engine so my Armada will not charge my gear while the engine is off, though the cigarette lighter port is active.

A must-have have for a sales rep

This thing has saved me more times than I can count. I can't tell you how many times I had to power up my laptop in the car and the company has not given us car chargers. This product was Fantastic Four that! I even did my hair before an interview in a car because of this product. I cannot believe that this product actually powers a hair straightener! While it is a little loud, it's definitely something that everybody should have in case of emergency. I'm a sales representative so I spend a lot of time in my car and many sales reps have purchased this product after seeing the ease that it provides into my day.

No reason this wouldn't deserve 5-stars for me

As many others may have mentioned this is not a pure sine wave AC power inverter. But then again, it's only twenty five bucks. I purchased this for powering chargers and basic electronics in the car for road trips, and does that extremely well. Knowing what it is, and not setting my expectations for anything else, I can't find any reasons to give it less than 5 stars. It's compact, the plug is really solid, it's a great value, and pacifies kids in the car. Product description is very detailed and seems to clearly and honestly communicate the limitations and caveats that so many other reviewers have complained about. The fan does make some noise (because it's a fan). The item description clearly sets the expectation that it does have a cooling fan and it will make noise when t's on. I just made sure to put this under the seat in the car, where it could still get good ventilation and none of us even noticed it. Especially over the road noise. It's just a trade-off for convenience of having power where you otherwise wouldn't. I'm sure there are people out there who buy gas generators and are surprised to discover that they are loud.

Perfect accessory for every vehicle

this has been a life saver when it comes to having to "charge" as we are driving from point A to point B. The G'kids are much happier when their electronics are working and I am less bored if my iPad or Kindle is charged. Plug this into your cigarette lighter and you are setup 4 usb ports and 3 DC outlets. These inverters have a tendency to get hot but this model has a great little fan that keeps the temperature down. The cord is ample length but if the cord was slightly longer it would be PERFECT. [of course perfect length depends greatly on where the cigarette lighter plug in is located] I would buy again [it would be great to have one in every vehicle] AND I would recommend to a friend without hesitation.
