Really nice slow cooker. The only thing I would change is the auto shut off after 14 hours. I use it for bone broth, which typically takes 36 - 48 hours. There should be a way to override this. The manual does warn about the auto shut off, but it's kind of buried at the end of each cooking mode section, so it's easy to miss. The first time I used it for a long broth cook, I woke up to a warm pot. Fortunately, it had only shut off an hour prior, so I was able to save to pot of liquid gold! Just be sure to stop and restart the cooker before going to bed. Overall, great cooker.

This slow cooker is unstoppable. I've used it so much over the past few months. It does a great job at cooking, and is awesome for meal prep. The timer function is great. It can cook while I'm at work, then keep things warm and ready for when I get home. Cleans easily, simple to use. Haven't had a chance to use the temperature probe yet, but I imagine it would be helpful for cooking whole birds/other large meats.

This is actually the third Hamilton Beach 6-Quart Slow Cooker that I've purchased. My original (that I believe I've had for 3 years) still works great and is in my home. We needed to bring two crockpot dishes to a church function 2 years ago so I purchased a second Hamilton Beach 6-Quart Slow Cooker. I ended up donating that one to our church as they did not have a slow cooker in their kitchen equipment. Both of these slow cookers have provided many delicious meals and none have spilled out thanks to the locking lid (transport clips). So why the third slow cooker you might ask? Our daughter got married out of town in May '19 and was having a potluck at the reception. The photo I've included is the beef recipe that I made for the reception. Since the wedding was out of town and we no longer had the box for our slow cooker, I ordered the third Hamilton Beach 6-Quart Slow Cooker to help with packing everything for our trip. I also, intended to leave it with our daughter to use in her kitchen. By the way, she loves hers, too. I love that it's an appliance that continues to work well, is not expensive and does not spill during any transport. Have you ever had to clean up part of your car after slow cooker spillage? This slow cooker prevents those mishaps.

I've owned a Crock-Pot® for many years, but unfortunately the insert broke and it was going to cost me more money to purchase the insert than I'd originally spent on the unit itself. I came across this one and after going through many reviews, and watching many videos I decided to give it a try. i can't even begin to tell you how happy I was with this model. I wanted the digital display, but also needed something a little larger as Sunday Gravy in an Italians home is a big deal. My only gripe about this particular model is it doesn't come any larger. I wish ANY company would make a 10-quart but this one does the job and I can't complain. The 'stainless' exterior does get VERY VERY hot, but that doesn't bother me as I usually am not touching the machine while it's running for the 12 hours it's cooking away. I've found that, unlike other Hamilton Beach models I've read/reviewed, this one does not contain any major 'hot spots' in lieu of cooking. The food/broths do cook pretty evenly, I don't notice any burn spots when cleaning afterwords and the insert fits pretty nicely in my dishwasher.

Perfect slow cooker. Kids washing dishes and apparently placed the unit down in the water and would no longer turn on and felt a little shaky about it anyway even if it had have turned back on.....Amazon to the rescue and time for that roast!!!! Just ordered a replacement and all was well again! Get you one if you don’t already have it. Price is great product is fantastic. Set and forget about it!

A few months ago, we decided to save money by cooking our own food. (We had been eating Trader Joe’s frozen meals and going out and that gets expensive very quickly.) Thing is, neither my husband nor I love cooking all that much. So I guess it comes as no surprise that I am terrible at it. However, I did come across an awesome blog called a year of slow cooking that presented me with a bunch of easy-to-make recipes in very little time. (Since then I have found other blogs with other recipes: Get Crocked and 365 days of slow cooking for example but a year of slow cooking is still my favorite.) The recipe problem solved, I started cooking using my small, old, and very basic crockpot. And that crockpot was doable but some recipes call for cooking on low for 9 hours; others for 6 and really all I want is to throw the ingredients into the crockpot and forget about it. My old basic crockpot didn’t let me do that. The Hamilton Beach, on the other hand does. And it is so easy to use! I hate electronics (ask my husband) but I can operate this crockpot with ease. You just press the on button (the red circle on the left) then select the time by pushing the up/down arrows on the right, press enter, select the heat setting press enter and you’re done. Once it’s finished, it goes to Warm setting so your food doesn’t spoil. This means that if you set it on a Friday night and want to sleep in Saturday morning, you can. You really don’t have to worry about getting up just to turn off the crockpot. If you are cooking a full chicken or something as big as that you can use the thermometer probe and set your own temperature you want maintained to make sure that meat is cooked properly. It also has one of those lids that locks down with simple lever clamps at each end so now I can be one of “those” people who takes up the office kitchen because we are having a potluck. The lid does have a rubber seal but do be sure to keep it upright because there are small vent holes and a hole for the probe to be inserted through the glass lid. All in all, this really is a set it and forget it crockpot (as advertised). It is also worth noting (because this has been in the news) that Healing Gourmet (a food safety site) lists Hamilton as one of the ten brands to look for when choosing a crockpot and that wirecutter (a site that reviews the gadgets in our lives) tells us that this crockpot “outperformed much more expensive models.” In a couple of negative reviews I have seen, there were complaints about the glass breaking. The instructions say to only clamp down the lid when transporting food. My husband says that there is a good chance that tightening the lid while cooking would put extra stress on the glass making it more likely to break/shatter. So bear this in mind. I admit I haven’t tried those more expensive models (the whole point of using a crockpot to begin with was to save money) but I have to admit I am a little in love with this crockpot and highly recommend it.

I love love love this slow cooker. It's so simple to use. I love the features this slow cooker offers as well. There's nothing better than being able to throw something in it, set a timer, and know that after your timer goes off it will automatically set itself to warm for you. I would like to remind everyone that when you are done and go to put it up to not do what I did and put the thermometer under the bowl. I forgot I put it there and it melted. Put it inside the bowl if anything.

Love it! Cord wraps up and stores on the bottom.

I love this crockpot (slow cooker) because you can cook large or small dishes by programming the cook time and temperature. I have cooked turkey roast, pork roasts, fish, and numerous vegetables with perfect results. The best part is the easy cleanup. Because the ceramic pot easily lifts from the cooker it can be rinsed in the sink and then placed in the dishwasher without any hassle. My old crockpot did not have a removable ceramic pot and was a nightmare to clean. I also love the temperature probe feature that allows you to cook large roasts or poultry and get consistently good results. The keep warm feature is super.

I purchased this for my home, but as a request from my girlfriend. It's fall now, so it's great weather for some comfy home cooked/slow cooked meals. When she was unboxing it and assembling it (very easy to put together and not much to it), the first words that came out of her mouth were "Babe this thing is bad a$$!" She made a pot roast the other night in this thing... it turned out REALLY damn good. The meat thermometer that fits in the little hole so you don't even have to lift the top is INGENIUS. I'm no expert on Crockpots, but this should've always been a feature on them (from what I remember as a child... Ours definitely did not have that). The rest of the features are great and the auto timer is amazing for those "gotta run to the store and grab items a. and b.) Two thumbs up!
