This is a great security software, the scans are really fast compared to competitors like Avast, or Norton. And the instlation process is also really fast. When I read the reviews that some people say that "this is a virus" I just laugh, because there is NO WAY that Amazon would allow anyone to sell a software that had viruses or malware on it. And I know that this is not a virus because I have done scans with an anti malware program, called Malware-Bytes in Safe Mode, and the program does not detect ANY malicious software.

I got this product as a package deal when I got my HP Envy Touch Smart laptop from Best Buy in 2013. I never bothered with security programs before for my PCs, believing that they were a rip off, but after using this one, I can say I'm a very happy customer! My laptop has remained as fast as when I bought it, and with it's extra defense options for android, I also stream lined my two year old tablet and my year old phone. All three of my devices are as fast as they ever were. The only thing that did irritate me, was the need for my android devices to have a password or pin on it to protect it from unauthorized access. However, the program does a nice in-the-background scan of all the apps I download without slowing down my device. There is also the option of clearing all device history remotely if you ever do lose your phone or tablet, so if you work with your own devices that require encryption such as protection of other people's personal information, Webroot is a great product. I have been able to maintain a safer PC, Tablet, and Smart-phone thanks to this easy-to-install program. I highly recommend it to anyone really looking for a good product at a low price, as well as anyone looking to maintain their devices at peak performance for as long as they can. In PC Magazine, this was ranked among the top 10, and for good reason: it works without slowing down your computer like other internet protection software like Norton.

This is a highly underrated Antivirus software that is a great replacement for others that are more costly and overload your computer. I run it on two PCs...one is a four-year-old Lenovo desktop and the other is an inexpensive Dell laptop...both with i3 processors and rather on the slow side. Webroot has never given me any problems on these computers or the others I've had over the years. It works quietly in the background and doesn't use a lot of resources. No Antivirus is going to give you complete protection, especially with the "zero-day" threats that exist today, but if you're looking for a quality Antivirus, I highly recommend Webroot.

So far I am very happy with this. I was using AVG for virus and Malware for malware programs. Not sure which of those two failed. But every time I was on the internet, would have repeated notifications of malware and also virus detections. Everyone of them said they were "out going" kind. I did scan after scan after scan and neither AVG nor Malware ever showed any problems. Decided to try the Webroot and since installing it have not had any notices of the "out going" detection. No issues at all while on computer. Before it (webroot) was on, any and all web pages I went to (home page, facebook, even obituary of local news paper) had repeated notices of the "out going" virus/malware. My computer even runs better and faster.

When I opened my Amazon order of WebRoot Plus I was dismayed to discover that the package was 2 years out of date. Fighting the impulse to immediately return the installation disk of the 2012 version, I carefully peeled off the "factory seal" and slipped it into my laptop optical drive. It installed smoothly and asked for the Keycode that was included in the package. Lo and behold (!) the current version was installed and said that it was good for 365 days. Yay! I uninstalled Kaspersky - which has proven clunky and only marginally effective - and established my cloud account in WebRoot. This was a bit tedious but not diffucult. I shut down my laptop, as I usually do after a session. Then, I attempted to install WebRoot on my best desktop machine BUT Kaspersky BLOCKED the procedure and locked up my machine! Undaunted, I pulled a hard reset and removed the webRoot disk. Then I uninstalled Kaspersky, informing them via their embedded "Why are you leaving us?" page that I had found a better program and gave them no more information. They didn't deserve any. Without Kaspersky in the way, my best desktop machine was soon up and running WebRoot and I logged into my account and saw that it had registered one (1) computer. Moving on to my second desktop machine, I uninstalled Kaspersky first, then installed WebRoot without a hitch. Logging into my new WebRoot account I saw that it now registered two (2) computers. Going back to my laptop, I brought up my WebRoot account and saw that it now registered three (3) computers. So, apparently, even though my laptop had intalled WebRoot, the resident Kaspersky had prevented it's recognition by my account. Now that Kaspersky was history, everything was rosey. Next, I downloaded a free copy of WebRoot Mobile on my Kindle HDX 8.9, logged into my account and saw that it was also recognized. Neat! So why the long-winded review? Just to let you know that this "deal" from Amazon is genuine and that if you are replacing another security suite, it would be best to uninstall it immediately before you install WebRoot. WebRoot is a good program and doesn't load down your hardware like many of the more famous brands do. Its great to have Amazon in your corner when you need to step out of the boxed in thinking and take a chance on something new.

I had last years version and bought this when my one year was up. I then contacted Webroot and had the software ID put on my account. This saved all my settings, history, and most important all my passwords. Saved big $$$ rather than subscribing to another year of security through Webroot's own website. The software works great - read review on PCmag website.

This item replaced my old IS software with did not work with windows 10. This software is compatible with windows 10 and works great. Scans are really quick usually done in under 10 minutes, and it doesn't seem to cause a lot of lag while running in the background. I will continue to buy this product in the future.

This product was recommended to me by a computer repair person. I bought it, installed it, and like the program very well. I have found that Webroot seems to allow my computer to run faster than other similar products I have used. It was quick and easy to install. I installed it on three computers, and there have been no freezes, lags, or hang-ups--this was not the case with the other virus protectors I have used. Seems to find all of the threats and appropriately alerts. Will definitely renew after it expires.

I've waited a couple of months to post my opinion of this virus protection software to really give it a good test. I'm most pleased. As everyone has said the installation time is so quick and the program has a small footprint. Webroot also scans your computer in a flash. McAfee came installed on my laptop when I bought it two years ago. I never got any feedback from this so-called "Name" product. Actually, the only time I heard from McAfee was during the last few months before my 2-year license was about to run out. That has not been the case with Webroot. I have received emails from them telling me about updates they've made and about using their website. (These are not "sale" emails that we all dread.) I also have checked on the scans it is doing behind the scenes and I've been pleasantly surprised that all is well. With my previous virus protection software I never could tell if it was working or not. I spent a long time doing soul searching about purchasing Webroot because some techie sites said it missed viruses and malware. However, for 13 years Webroot earned PCMag's Editors' Choice, for security software. (It's highest award.) I consider myself an advanced computer user, I'm not intimidated by computer programs or smartphone apps. I dig into them and learn their ins and outs. However, I'm not what you would call a techie. So I really weighed the comments made by fellow Amazon shoppers with more technical know-how and what a few tech sites said, most notably PC Magazine's website. They explained that Webroot "sniffs out malware differently from other programs." Webroot, unlike other anti-virus software programs operates using the cloud and a different procedure. According to PCMag.com it sits and watches how programs behave, leaving unfamiliar programs alone until they try to do something malicious then Webroot strikes and kills the program and reverses everything it did. "Static lab tests aren't compatible with this wait-and-see approach, so Webroot doesn't do very well in them. But in real-world malware detection and removal tests, Webroot tops the charts," concludes PCMag. So far, I'm glad I went with Webroot. I've been very pleased with how it has performed.

I've used this anti-virus software on two computers for several years and have no complaints. The upgrade required uninstalling the old software and then installing the newest version. I always pay a little extra for the disc version. I'm a happy customer and recommend this product. BTW, if you upgrade by downloading from the software company website in response to their "end of license period" warnings, you will pay more!
