Really happy w/this!
My first use! Used on top of stove with vent hood running. Followed manufacturers instructions & lightly sprayed w/cooking spray... wiped excess off. There was some smoking (I think was cooking spray) but vented hood handled it. To cook steaks to medium, I completely defrost in water (micro defrost ruins flavor), let sit on counter w/worsteshire & favorite steak seasoning until steaks are room temp (1-1/2 hour). Heat grill to “sear”... wait for ready light. Used searing plate to sear steak 30 secs on each side, then drop heat to 350 & grill 2 1/2 min on each side. Let steaks rest 2 min on warm platter or cutting board. This is how we always grill outside & was pleasantly surprised this cooked so well! We have very cold winters so no outdoor winter grilling. Entire thing went in dishwasher along w/that evenings dishes. Stores nicely in my appliance garage. On to pork chops, salmon, chicken & shrimp....

Forget all the negative reviews on this product and listen to your girl over here. I love this grill. I clean it immediately after use. I use only Dawn and warm water. I spray Pam to better protect the grill. Get you one. Follow instructions. Take care of it properly because that's how you maintain longevity.

What’s not to like?
I can find no fault in this grill. It’s the perfect size, clean up could not be easier. I grill out at least 4-5 times a week, 52 weeks a year. I am in the process of rebuilding a deck, my grill was on its last legs and weather has delayed construction so I have been without a place to cook... broiled meat is horrible. I bought this grill based on its positive reviews and I could not be happier, grilling out as much as I do I can of course tell a difference, but the difference is so inconsequential it’s not worth mentioning. My wife cannot tell where I cooked what. This grill works so well I don’t believe I will be firing up my outdoor grill unless I’m cooking for groups to large to cook on this. Clean up is ridiculously easy, when I’m done cooking I rinse off the grill bed, soak in soapy water while I eat and rinse and replace for next meal.

Love This Indoor Grill!
I actually bought this same grill off Target website for $59 (on sale) but wanted to review it here. My biggest concern was whether it would smoke a lot and set off our smoke alarm but it doesn't. I have used it multiple times and it sits on my counter next to the stove. I leave the oven overhead fan set on low (which I do not even think I need to) and there's no smoke filled air with the lid closed. I have not used it without the lid on so I can not speak to whether that would leave your home smokey. I can easily fit 3-4 steaks or chicken breasts at a time on this grill. I love that the drip pain catches everything. There is no way for grease to fall elsewhere. I love that it breaks down for easy cleanup and that I can throw the parts into the dishwasher. BY THE WAY I'm not sure what size dishwasher they show the parts here in but the lid doesn't fit into my dishwasher.. The other parts however easily fit. It has a control knob that you can set the temperature from 200-400 (then Seer). BTW, I made this mistake so here's a little warning for you - you are supposed to preheat before placing your food on there.. Me, I forgot to preheat and set all the food on then remembered I was supposed to preheat and thought about taking everything off.. But decided to just let it go through preheat with the food there. Well, the food on the grill got seer'ed pretty fast! I'm not sure why since I only had it on 350 but don't make my mistake.. It turned out ok but just a heads up. Allow it to preheat as the instructions indicate. The preheat takes less than 2 minutes. Heats up FAST. I give this grill 5 stars because I personally don't find a single flaw. However, I did debate 4 or 5 stars for this simple reason. The cord is extremely short. This is not an inconvenience to me because I have a plug in easily accessible in the spot I need it but to those of you who don't might find this as a flaw. The cord is only 25 inches long. Great grill marks and flavor. Highly recommended.
I used the grill for the first time last night with excellent results. I turned the grill to sear and waited for the green light to come on, which took 10 -12 minutes. This is about the same amount of preheat time as my outdoor grill. I cooked two venison tenderloins, which had great grill marks, were cooked perfectly and had a great flavor similar to my outdoor gas grill. I’m extremely happy with the results, which far exceeded my expectations of an indoor BBQ. I would prefer if the sides and drip tray were made of metal instead of plastic but I don’t think the plastic will have any impact on the grill’s cooking ability or performance. Overall I highly recommend this product. It does exactly what it is advertised to do and it definitely beats going outside in 15 degree weather.

I'm tempted to tell you it's bad just so there are more left for me to buy as gifts
We. Love. This. Grill. I wish I would have found this years ago. For the past few years, we've been considering various indoor grills, but reviews always scared us away - especially regarding cleanup. Have been watching a particular show that has shown indoor smokeless grill ideas, so went looking again and found this beauty. We have made chicken (with bbq sauce and without), brats, London broil, hamburgers and pork chops on this grill multiple times and multiple ways since receiving it less than a month ago. (Seriously, we want to grill on this thing more than we grilled this summer, and we grill as often as possible in summer.) Everything turns out juicy and perfect. The cleanup is ridiculously easy. We don't have a dishwasher, but soak the grill for 5-10 minutes and everything comes off cleanly and easily. No need to spray the grill at all before cooking. It would be great, though, if you could hold off on buying this a couple of months until after I get a chance to order a few more as holiday gifts! Thanks!

I LOVE THIS GRILL!!!!
Seriously, I love this grill. Recently moved into city and can't use my grill so thought I'd give this a try. Man, it's amazing how well this works considering what it is and what it costs. I really can't see why anyone would have ANYTHING negative to say about it. No, it's not a Traeger Grill and clearly has its limits but take a look at the photos of the first two meals I cooked on it... they looked fantastic and tasted even better. Seriously, if you've been on the fence about this grill get off and just buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Superior, well designed product. A cut above the rest.
Below are several reasons I chose this particular grill. I feel each is important which makes this a superior product in my view. - It sears - does a great job. - It has actual temperature indicators on the dial, not just low-medium-high settings. The settings are 200, 250, 300, 350, 400 and sear (which is 450). This temperature feature gives you greater control. - The unit is 1200 watts (not 1800) which would work great in an RV. It only uses 3 volts according to our meter and 10 amps. And it gets VERY hot. - The lid design is extremely well thought out. First of all - it has one! And with this particular lid design, you will find little difference between this grill and an outdoor grill (other than the quantity of food you can grill at one time on an outdoor grill). In addition to heat retention, the lid is quite high above the grill plate so you don't have to worry about fitting larger, thicker items (such as really large chicken breasts or thick cut steaks and ribs) on the grill. This is the reason I didn't consider the Delonghi Perfecto which received complaints about the lid touching the meat. - It's not a contact grill. This was important because I want to control the cooking - not be controlled by the grill. I want to turn the meat at my discretion and I like to keep the juices in - not have them squeezed out by the weight of a top plate. Then there's that searing thing again (which is great.) - The meat doesn't sit in grease while cooking. Since the grill plate is "slatted" and not solid like our old Presto, this is not a concern just as it is not a concern with an outdoor grill - same design. The grease drains off naturally and falls between the grates into the drip tray. - The heating element is embedded in the grill plate, so no worry about hot and cold spots. - The cleanup is easy enough. - Not overly heavy. Easily transportable. - If important to you, the unit is attractive to leave out on the counter. I feel there is precious little difference between this grill and an outdoor grill when it comes to both design and performance. As I said this grill is plenty HOT - preheat as directed just as with other grills. For us this was a great purchase - well pleased.

I cooked a 1" sirloin for 5 minutes on each side & it came out a perfect medium rare
I used this grill for the first time last night. I cooked a 1" sirloin for 5 minutes on each side & it came out a perfect medium rare. It was delicious & clean up was so easy. I recommend this for single people, couples, & anyone with a small yard or disinterest in sweating over a hot grill outside.
