They are very comfortable right out of the box
I bought these boots last week and wore them all day yesterday. They are very comfortable right out of the box. The fit was true to size for me. I love the composite toe. The temperature was down in the thirties and my toes stayed warm as toast. I like the thinner boot laces. I noticed in the posted reviews some people complained about the thickness of the laces. They are thinner, I will admit, but I noticed I did not have to retire my boots all day yesterday. My previous work boots did have thicker laces and I was constantly having to retire them despite using double knots. This is my first Carhart purchase and I will have to say that I am impressed with their workmanship.

YOUR NEXT WORKBOOT!
Great boot! I'm a painting contractor and been wearing these six days a week for 7 months on concrete floors, scaffolding and ladders so they get a workout! Composite toe is real comfy and light, I find steel toes real uncomfortable and they callous my toes. I clean and polish them about once a month but that's it. All stitching is still intact and insoles/ interior is still in great order with no rips. Tread on the soles still has plenty of grip. All other brands I've worn have the soles well worn at this stage. On the second pair of laces but you expect that. One of the best boots I've owned for value and longevity/wear. Dunno about insulation qualities as I live in NZ and winters are mild but damp, seem to be pretty watertight in wet conditions. Got a pair for one of my guys and he loves them too! So it's not just me!

Great buy!!
I bought this for my boyfriend who is a metal fabricating blacksmith and he loves them! They are much lighter than his steel toe workboots am are very comfortable.

It took a few days to break them in
So when I got these I immediately tried them on and wore them around the house for a while. They were very stiff, which I expected them to be being all leather. They were also hard, I mean super hard, in the footbed and I thought I had made a huge mistake. Hoping that they would break in, I wore them to work the next day expecting to be miserable by the end of the day. To my surprise, they were very comfortable and I don't have the "tired feet" or the beginnings of plantar fasciitis that I had with my old Carhartt force boots (2 years old). I cannot speak to the longevity, but they are comfortable and after I wore them for a few days they broke in beautifully. Also they came with those hard rope-like laces that everyone hates because they won't stay tied, but these stay tied. I am very happy overall and based on my less than 1 month usage I would buy them again.

Tried and Tested Under Extreme Conditions
A little background: I am an industrial mechanic. At least once a day I have some task involving electricity. The environment is 99.1 degrees Fahrenheit and 84.0 percent humidity. This temperature is consistent year around. At times during production there can be inches of standing water on the floor. The Review: I can honestly say that I would recommend these boots to friends, because I have. The company that I work for will reimburse me for any pair of electrical rated, safety toe boots up to $130. Last year I decided to buy these Carhartt boots for my free pair. I didn't miss one day of work and I worked a lot of overtime(sometimes 80 hour weeks). I really beat these boots up bad. But let me tell you, not only did the tread hold up, but they remained waterproof until the last day I wore them. As you can see in the photographs, I replaced them with the exact same boot. Although I can't say for sure, I'm confident that these boots have also saved me from a zap of 480V once or twice. Please always remember, Lock-Out every piece of equipment you work on. Working on energized equipment unnecessarily is for people with a death wish. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

Great work boot
These work boots are great quality and very effective. I had a similar carhartt work boot prior to this that was great in every regard, except the stitched rubber toe basically disintegrated (and those were more expensive!). The rest of the boot seemed pretty high quality, the anti-slip grip was very effective and they were warm and waterproof even for daily use in a shipyard in Wisconsin. If these hold up as well as the last did, they’ll be great boots!

Beats any expensive boot by far!
Old and bad knees, still working construction. Tried lots of boots, spent big bucks. This boot for under a 100.00!!! Comfort, wide wide at the toe! Light ! Working 10 hours outside 27 degrees, did I tell you I'm old! If pass on these brother your making a bad decision! And there water proof! My feet are dry every night! I do use a boot dryer at night, so far no stink, no wet feet, and I'm putting some serious miles on them.

Great short boot!
Good boot! I like higher boots normally but gave these a shot as I respect the Carhartt brand and wanted more of my lower leg to breathe as I work in a high temperature environment and the taller boots were causing too much irritation due to sweat and friction regardless of sock type I tried. It took a day or two to break in the boot and allow my foot to adapt a bit. The stock insert supports my high arch, this is normally an issue for me. Definitely a good purchase.

No break in time
First pair of boots that were comfortable right out the box. I’ve been wearing these every day for 10-12 hrs a day, 5-6 days a week, for 7 weeks. Soles are great, they actually hold up very well in water. I’ve been through several deep puddles and rainstorms and haven’t had any wet socks. The eyelets and hooks are strong. I’m in south Florida and my feet aren’t sweating during the day which is a huge plus. These replaced a pair of timberland pit boss boots and my feet in a sauna with them. I would buy these again when they reach the end of their life.
