Car was broken into. Window was smashed. Had a gym bag taken. Safe was connect to my car seat. Was still left in the car and gun was safe. Guess I'm not going to the gym and it could have been worse.

I bought the smallest size box to transport my Glock 20 on a planned flight to Florida. I have a neighbor who is a TSA agent and was able to show him this box after it arrived and he seemed to think it would be ok for that purpose (my other option was the OEM box and he frowned at it without offering much comment other than that it was iffy at best and would be difficult to lock up; he's not much of a talker). This size box holds the full size 10mm just fine with room for a spare mag (I don't plan on taking a spare mag but it should work). So pretty much any size glock should fit into the smallest box if the big G20 can fit (I'm not sure some of the long slide Glocks would fit; see pictures for how cozy the G20 is). Some of the complaints I've noted on here are worth discussing; the cable that came with it appears to be thicker than the picture here on Amazon. It's pretty heavy, well coated and the crumpet on the loop is well protected with a heavy boot as well. I think it will meet my needs just fine and don't feel I need a heavier cable. The box itself is pretty sturdy, no flex at all and the piano hinge is slightly recessed into the box which would make removing the pin on the hinge at least a bit more difficult. Inside there's 2 layers of foam. I can just barely get it closed with all the foam in it with my G20, removing 1 layer made it easier to close, and the glock still doesn't slide around once closed. The keys do indeed seem flimsy as the attach point is just plastic. I'm going to take the key to a local hardware store to see if they can make an all metal copy so the head doesn't break off. Overal very pleased with this purchase. Once I fly with it I'll come back for more comments.

I was skeptical about this purchase as I wasn't sure about the rigidity of the construction (hinges mostly), and whether it would properly fit my revolver with ammunition as I would need this for travel to pass TSA guidelines. Well as it turns out, I was pleasantly surprised when I took delivery of the safe to find that my Smith & Wesson .500 4" Revolver, 20 Rd box of ammunition, and two speed loaders fit perfectly with room for paper work or more ammunition (even another side arm) to spare. The construction is VERY sturdy and rigid, no wobbling or deformation even with the thickness of the ammunition box, the safe closed with little to no effort and stayed closed even without locking. The only thing I have left to say is that if you're looking for a travel case or simply a small stow away for your firearm or even just precious personal belongings, this lockbox is PERFECT for the quality and more importantly the value.

For the price plus free shipping from Amazon there is really no reason to nit-pic. Sure I'll probably upgrade the cable but honestly for any crook who is prepared for cable cutting it probably won't matter much. For me this is to deter the smash and grab car thief and to keep a 9mm pistol safe from the kids. As others have stated a "same keyed" pair would be nice so I do not have to keep moving it back and forth. But I may end up picking up a second one anyhow. Fit's my Kel Tec P-11 plus spare magazine perfectly and seems solid enough for what it is. I put up a couple pics- not sure how/if they'll show up here. Anyhow, I can't imagine finding anything cheaper; let alone cheaper and this decent. Certainly not much of a financial risk if you want to give it a try. If it doesn't work out I'm sure someone in the house will find use for it somewhere. I did not receive anything in exchange for this review and paid full price for the product! Hondo!

I needed something affordable and safe to secure my springfield XD 9mm subcompact so I purchased this. I am not a fan of barrel cable locks or trigger locks, but I also didn't want to feel like there was any possiblity of someone playing around with my pistol while I was at work or out. This is a great alternative to those expensive electronic safes or one of those thousand dollar rifle sized safes. The lockbox comes with 2 keys and a steel cable ( which I think is for added security? ) and you can also get them with a keypad lock. its large enough to hold a full size pistol, probably even two if you really wanted to. I keep mine with 2 loaded mags and a box of ammo in it and it fits perfectly on the shelf and can be hidden or concealed anywhere if you wanted it to be, and also adheres to TSA regulations for traveling with your firearm. Easy to open and close, just be careful with those keys and don't lose the spare. Also, make sure you look at the dimensions of the box before you ordered it. I originally ordered the smallest size and it could fit a small compact pistol but was hard to completely shut without imprinting/damaging the felt lining inside the box.

Finally, a unit that fits securely in the vehicle and is capable of holding the largest pistol in the collection. The unit is well constructed and the keys function smoothly in opening the lock unit. The steel construction of the safe and the supplied cable work in unison to keep the valuables secure while out and about. This was purchased because the vehicle glove box locks but it is plastic and a good tug or two on it and the contents are exposed. With the SnapSafe, I feel better leaving items in the vehicle when I am out and about.

Exactly what I was looking for. If I go somewhere were I can't carry my gun I can lock it up and know it's safe. I can actually fit both My Sig P938 & Springfield XDS in their holsters together (although I never carry both at the same time) and close the lid with no problems. Fit's under my seat and I just wrap the cable around the frame of the seat.

Oh man, serious!? This case is by far the best case I have ever owned. The cheap plastic case that came with my glock (G22- 40 cal) is cheaply made compared to this case. Glock can take some notes on this as an optional safety/security feature when purchasing a firearm. I'm doing a last minute travel and needed a case for my flight...can't really say I trust airline employees with my precious cargo and I'm certain this case is as good as it gets....cable and all. Highly HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this product especially for the price.

Just got it today and from first impressions i love it. Im going to use it to fly with my carry pistol. I am also going to hide it in my car for those times i cant carry my pistol on me. But it seems to be good quality. I got the XL size. The description says the XL is 18 ga. steel but the large and XXL are 16 ga. steel so I messaged the manufacturer and they got back to me within 12 hours that they all are 16 ga. steel so I was happy about that. The cable is nothing crazy but is appropriate for the use. I was happily surprised by the quality of it all. I will add an update after I fly with it next month.
