I had another set of a similar product made by a different manufacturer, RF-LINK. It too was 5.8GHz, but only worked "okay" for several years -- it was never great. It was about 15-20' from the TV in the kitchen, but it had to have a clear line of sight or there would be noise and interference. We just lived with it. But finally, the RF-LINK went bad altogether, sending the TV image into a slow vertical roll. I tried to change the channel on the transmitter, but it wouldn't change anymore, so the device itself was toast. So, seeing the positive reviews and ratings on this Nyrius, I decided to try it out.. WOW!! Like night and day. The picture is super sharp and clear and I like how the IR repeater doesn't require power like my old one did on the RF-Link. I am SUPER happy with this purchase.

I must say I was pretty skeptical about this working for the application I was intending to use it for, but with the reviews being so positive I thought I would give it a try. I just couldn't find a review that was over 40'-50' in broadcast distance. I wanted to try 135' line of sight with no obstructions in a rural area. So I bought this to give it a try. I must say It worked flawlessly at 135' no obstructions! I refused to pay the satellite company for another dish and receiver or another over priced monthly fee! We can now watch football at our pool patio! This little set will open a lot of watching possibilities all over your home. Nyrius NY-GS3200 5.8GHz 6 Channel Wireless Audio/Video Sender Transmitter & Receiver System with IR Remote Extender

This system is the best electronic item I've purchased for a long time. I have for years run A/V cables from my living room to the bedroom plus a remote extender so I could watch my cable in bed. I dislike paying for one cable box, so no way I'm paying for a second to use an hour or so once in a while. The Nyrius allows me to move the TV around the living room without having to re-route and hide the cable to the bedroom. The picture and sound are just as good as with the cable plus the remote extender portion of the system works much better than the one I had. I would recommend to my friends and purchase another if needed.

I wasn't going to write a review of this product, as I am only using one third of its features: just the video feed. (I have an old pair of AR Wireless Speakers handling the audio, and I don't need the remote control feature.) But then the vendor offered to extend the warranty on this unit for an extra year in exchange for a review, so let me comment just on the video feed. This Nyrius 5.8GHz sender works better than the Terk 2.4GHz sender I had before, apparently because there is less interference in the 5.8 frequency range in my location (first-floor apartment in Manhattan). The signal doesn't have that far to travel -- probably twenty feet -- from my living room to my bathroom (yes, I watch TV while I go through my endless dental ritual at night). But it does have to pass through several walls of a pre-war building. It took me some fiddling to get the optimum picture. The quick-start instructions weren't very detailed, but I found an inscription on both the receiver and transmitter advising the user to orient the adjustable antenna panels so the sides engraved with squares face each other. That done, I'm getting an excellent picture in the bathroom and one that doesn't seem prone to the constant interference the Terk 2.4GHz unit used to pick up. I do notice that the picture quality fades if I open the door of the cabinet above the bathroom sink, blocking the transmission, and if I lean too far over the sink brushing my teeth. Other than in those two situations, however, the Nyrius delivers a fine picture to my little five-inch RCA LCD TV. So if you need to send a TV signal from one room in your home to another, I would certainly recommend this Nyrius. It does the job, and it's reasonably priced.

So far so good! Took a while to figure out why the picture was black and white. Trouble shot every piece of equipment only to realize I didn't have the tv on the correct input. User error. Had it on composite instead of video. Pic is decent and in color. Wanted HD but the wireless HDMI receiver and transmitter was junk. I have this set up approx 75ft away in s cabinet through a door to my tv on the patio. Haven't tested the ir yet, but don't care cuz my cable remote is RF. One of the speakers isn't working but I'm sure it's a bad RCA ir something I am doing. I installed it high so there is no interference when walking through the path of the antennas. When down low if you break the path it cuts out for a second. Otherwise this thing is awesome!

Had issues when I first got it with static. Kept playing with it since I was determined I would get it to work. When my home phone rang it made massive static! Talking one night the person said they were having problems hearing me so I switched phones to newer model and all is fine! I'm a happy camper!!!! Patience paid off....One more thing, my Tivo remote works very good except the volume control so I use the TV's remote. Still a happy camper!! Update 10/20/17 I'm also finding my phone modem is causing static. I unplugged it and then static was gone. I noticed static on phone which makes me think it's my hook up with cable company (having wifi issues!). I can live it . Better than no TV in bedroom and playing cable company even more!

Does just what it says it will, pretty much. It gets audio and video from one TV to another wirelessly. I wouldn't count on the remote extender thing to work, so just be aware that you'll probably be limited to watching only the same channel on both TVs. For me, that's not a problem. I'm using it to send a signal through one wall, with wood studs, to a TV in the garage that sits about 10 feet away. For me, aiming the transmitter and receiver antennas toward each other hasn't really even been necessary. Probably because they're physically pretty close to each other. Also, no high def picture on the receiving TV, but I knew that going in. If you need high def, you'll need to spend a couple hundred bucks on one that has HDMI capability. I'd definitely recommend it for what it is.

This setup is the cats rear end... In a great way. Plug and play...and the reception and remote extender is perfect. We are currently going thru a major remodel and had to live in our fifth wheel camper for almost a month. We were transmitting 100+' from a satellite receiver upstairs in our bedroom. That means the signal had to penetrate 2 interior walls, an exterior wall, go 100' and penetrate an aluminum akinned camper wall. The picture and sound were as good as if we were plugged directly into the receiver itself. We have now partially moved back into the house and are using it in our "temp" LR and still perfect. This is probably one of the best buys I ever made. Never again will I have to pull cable if my wife decides to rearrange the house. Score one for me!

I already had a similar RF-Link Unit from Radio Shack, that had Problems / Failed after Several Years of Good Use. It was basically the same unit as this Nyrius 5.8 Ghz unit ( Doesn't get interference from 2.4Ghz Phone/etc.), But this unit is a Fraction of the Cost (1/3) . So this Setup was a Snap Replacement - Took about 35-40 min., and I was up and running again !! What is nice about this type of unit is, I can Unplug it from Kitchen and carry 19" TV and this RF Link out to my Screened in Porch and adjust the Links Trans / Rec Ant and watch stuff there too. All within 75-80 ft of the Main TV that I'm using !! works great !

I had planed to purchase another set of Terk leapfrog transmitter and receiver , but thanks to an Amazon review on the product I realized that the 2.4 ghz systems where becoming obsolete due to the saturation of WIFI signals .So I deduced that it wasn't that my Terk system failed it was that my neighbor got new internet service . The Nyrius set up works perfectly at 5.8 ghz and I can even run my microwave w/o interference . and it pays for its self because the cable/satellite crooks charge upwards of $7 a month to "rent" additional units . My primary TV in the family room I use this on my kitchen TV ,the remote works a room away no issues . I have additional receivers coming for use on my patio this summer and for the work shop in my garage .Now if only the networks produce some decent programing worth watching .
