This proved to be the ideal solution for a single septuagenarian householder who had found the good old Weber charcoal kettle grill too much bother for one person but was tired too of cast iron frying smoking up and overheating the kitchen. The Q1400 was easy to assemble (the additional accompanying stand was harder but manageable). Everything I have grilled on it has been a success. If there is any drawback at all, it would be the absence of that flavor that only charcoal can impart. I give it a unqualified five star recommendation.

The greatest grill ever! I had originally purchased the 2400 grill but then getting it, there are only 4 people in my home and for the amount of grilling needed the 1400 is the better choice. The 2400 grill is perfect for 4+ people and that was too big. I used my grill tonight and the steak came out PERFECTO! It was a half hour and it was done. I just love my new outdoor electric grill as I bought a perfect triangle sized table for $20 dollars off FB marketplace someone made, bought a copper sheeting to go on the table then a few hooks around the outside and I have myself a grill table. I love love this grill and will be using it alot. Can't wait to start making some burgers, then I'm going to invest in the grill plate so I can make some eggs and breakfast on there along with bacon!! Love me some bacon! then I'm planning on buying the side table inserts that go into the handles. FYI they fit both sized grills so just be sure to buy the right sized grill cover. You can't find this grill in a store, so glad to have Amazon and Amazon to sell it! I'm a happy griller for the first time in my life!! I hope this grill lasts me many years!

I don't often write reviews, but I am so satisfied with this grill I needed to write one! If I would have known you could get this kind of flavor with an electric grill, I would have bought this years ago! I really am happily surprised. I have been making foil smoke pouches with hickory chips, and it works great that way. No need to soak the chips or anything. I do like the flavor without the extra smoke, and I do get smokiness without them. I just always loved cooking over wood, and that helps! Since I live in an apartment with a balcony, this is the only real option I have for grilling. I am so excited to be tasting these flavors again after years of just doing without. Not gas or charcoal per se, but it's definitely NOT disappointing!

Because I moved I decided that I would not move my old Weber to my new condo and I left it for the new owners--that one had served me well for about 9 years with only replacing the heating element after about 5 years of very regular use. As with most condo's the only grill's you can use are electric so for my new one I went back to Weber--no thoughts of others I had used in the past (all of which did not either heat up enough or did not last over a few months). My old Weber was the largest but I thought I would try the smaller one this time. As others have indicated because the smaller generates the same wattage, or heat, that the larger one does, it really gets hot--I burned a nice steak last night as I forgot I was using the smaller model. I could find a cool spot on the larger to bake a potato but I also found that I could not do this with the smaller and cook a roast. So, buy a Weber and you can have grill marks for a long time--they are very well made! Buy the larger one if you want more area and a higher above the grill use for like beer can chicken (you cannot do that with the smaller). Buy the smaller if you want to have a really hot grill.

So far I've cooked: 1. barbecue chicken (I boiled the chicken for 30 minutes before cooking it on this grill). 2. Italian chicken sausage 3. barbecue hot dogs 4. asparagus in garlic butter 5. barbecue turkey burgers All of the above food items tasted the same as if they were cooked on my Mom's gas grill. Deliciousness in 20 minutes. Cooking has never been so easy. I will eventually cook: 1. barbecue cow ribs (I will boil them first of course) 2. salmon 3. more barbecue chicken 4. zucchini 5. etc... If you live in an apartment and cannot use a gas grill, this is the way to go. Amazing grill! I can't say enough about it.

I had one of these for 5 years. Outside on the deck summer and winter. Not covered. Snow, ice, rain, summer sun. Used it 4--5 days per week. Never failed. Finally blinked out at 5 years. Tossed it out. 1 month later discovered it was the outlet it was plugged into. Oh crap! Bought another 2 months ago. This is the best electric grill made. Buy this small footprint as it heats up to sear temperatures. The larger ones have the same wattage but can't reach the same heat. Smaller is better in this case. KEEP THE LID CLOSED. Baked potatoes and grilled porkchops tonite at the same time. (started potatoes 40 minutes earlier). Awesome result. This unit is bullet proof and easy to use. No gas, no charcoal, no mess. Good luck.

Got ours Thursday and used it twice. We also own the Weber Q100 gas grill. The new Q1400 is just as good. (we live on the 2nd floor and can't use the Q100 gas grill w/o having to go down stairs - fire code, etc.). The electric Q1400 preheat time that I have experienced is approx. 15 mins (not the 20-25 mins that others have said) and it's fully HOT & ready to rock. Hot dogs & toasted buns 1st night, burgers and toasted buns tonight. Everything was seared perfect, ready to eat in less than the times that I have seen in other reviews. This grill is exceptional, more than I expected in an electric grill. I highly recommend it to anyone who cannot have a Weber gas grill because of the bldg./fire codes. Bought the whole nine yards to replace my Q100... long cover and stand.. all are USA made quality! Tomorrow night -we are doing steaks on it! Can't wait for football season to begin !! Grillin' on our Weber electric Q1400 and watching football .. it doesn't get better than this!! (I use a 10ft outdoor -medium duty x-tension cord with no problem to comfortably use the grill on our 2nd floor balcony. Thank You Amazon & Weber.

I have just moved in with my family to a rental apartment in Florida. The rules here state (and correctly I might add) that you cannot have a charcoal or gas operated grill in the balcony of your apartment. The only choice was to buy an electric grill. After reading all the wonderful reviews about the Weber Q1400 Electric, I have decided to take a risk. Unpacking and putting the grill in place was a breeze, and we were delighted on our first grill. The corn and meat came out just as if it was a gas operated grill, minus the odor that is typical with the gas / charcoal grills. This odor can be good or bad depending on what you want from a grill, personally I like it, but I know that it might cause some health issues in the long run, so I might be better off without it. Thanks to Weber for this wonderful product. now I can grill to my heart's content in sunny FL.

I've had this little Grill for about two and a half months now. It has exceeded my expectations very much so. We got the 1400 model and it's been just perfect for the two of us. This Grill Cooks as good or better than any gas grill I've had, my last gas grill was the Q300 Weber. It took a little getting used to but the clean up with this Grill is very easy I clean the grates every time I use it when it cools I just put them in the sink clean them and put them right back in and the liner in the bottom I use aluminum foil with it some people don't but I find it keeps it a little cleaner and I wash that also throw the aluminum away replace it and I'm ready to goThe top liner has gotten stained from the smoke and Heat but I wipe it down after the grilling and it's as clean as it was if it was brand-new it just doesn't look it. So I've been a little long-winded on this but I would recommend this Grill for anybody really especially for singles or two people.

I moved into a condo and could not longer have a gas or charcoal grill so I was a bit distressed. I figured I try an electric grill but I wasn't excited. AT ALL! I figured it would be like a griddler that I had many years ago...just not much. But I decided that I really wanted a grill for my porch so I dove it. After a lot of research, I decided I'd buy the Weber knowing that they usually had pretty good products. Well, the little grill arrived today. It was really easy to set up. I just had to attach the lid and then the handle so that wasn't much. And I decided to try out some chops. MAN WAS I SURPRISED!!!! This little grill performed just like any gas grill except I didn't have to worry about the propane tank going empty. I followed the instructions and let it warm up for 20 minutes on high. Then I threw these really thick pork chops on and heard sizzling. SIZZLING! I let them sear on one side and fipped them over and seared them on the other. They were cooked to perfection in a flash. There was smoke but no fire. And the pork chops were juicy. I'm more than impressed. I even called my best friend and told her she had to get one of these. No charcoal, no gas. Just plug it in and throw the food on. I could not be more pleased.
