Cool product. Arrived well packed
Cool product. Arrived well packed, intact, works well and you can see the visible light spectrum, kids were delighted and so was I :-) If you place it down vertically, like we did in the attached pictures, and slightly rotate it you can have colors show up one by one. Thank you guys!

Amazing for photos and works really well
Probably the best thing I have bought to improve my photos. This was my first time actually have a good chance to try it out and the photos turned out amazing! Definitely worth the purchase! I did drop it and it chipped the corner of the prism which is fine idc cuz using it even with the cut off corner in the photo has no difference and the prism is 6 inches so tons of room. I recommend using this prism with a lens other than a wide angle lens cuz it doesn’t work as well as a 50 mm. Here’s some of the first photos I took with the prism.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I love this! It arrived in perfect condition, which is something I was worried about. It is the perfect size for most lenses! At least all the ones that I use! It is a cool tool to make your photos unique without having to use any effects or Photoshop. It is fun to use and gives each picture a different look. and it's a reasonable price! I am very happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this.

Great Optical Device if you know how to use it...
Prism works great. Must set at an angle to get rainbow that is very intense. I use a mirror under the prism to reflect rainbow onto wall and ceiling where you can actually watch the movement of the Sun.

Use it for photography, and love it
I use this for photography to add some artistic touches to portraits and what not. Definitely does the trick.

Pretty Much Rainbow
It's pretty cool. The only thing I did not expect was that the rainbow it creates is pretty small. Since this is a large prism, I expected the rainbow to be large, but it is very small, just maybe a few inches across. You can, however, cast the rainbow on an angled surface, and this will stretch it out. I was able to stretch it to about 2 feet, but you need to have an angled surface to cast the rainbow on. A cooler thing to do is to look through the prism at an angle. Through the prism, you will see the world with rainbow colors. You will see light from just a regular light bulb broken up into its constituent colors. It is actually a lot more interesting optically this way. You can see the light bending from the prism, as well. It is fun to try to explain it, if you know anything about optics. You can also look into one of the triangles at the ends and you will see a kaleidoscope. I wanted to see how laser light would behave through it. It should only bend, but I do not have a laser. You can do a lot of cool optical experiments with this thing. I want to see if I can magnify or stretch out the rainbow enough to see Fraunhofer lines from the sun. I doubt that this is possible, though, because by stretching it out with an angled surface, you also diminish the lights intensity. Regardless, it's a lot of fun to play with, and it's educational.

Learn About Sunlight and Rainbows
Great for helping grandson understand sunlight, its color spectrum along with an introduction to rainbows [his current fascination] . There are some very well done videos on You Tube that explain Newton's experiments using a prism. Also look for Physics Girl and How Rainbows Form.

LOVE this thing
LOVE this thing, it works terrific. But there is only one light source you should concern yourself with: The Sun. It best to have the sunlight pouring through a window, and then having part of that room still as dark as you can, so the rainbow can be most evident.

So I bought this to use for photography. I haven't taken it out to play with as much as I would like but it is very fun when looking to get an interesting effect :) EDIT: I'll need to add my new photos in here but this has been wonderful to add a bit of flare to your photography. You really need to get a feel for it so you can see what you like best but it has held its own and really is so much fun to play with!

Makes a great gift
This is a really nice quality crystal. The crystal is a great size and weight, and perfectly formed without defects. I bought it for my daughter, who is seven, as a Christmas gift. She liked it better than pretty much all of her other Christmas presents, and had a lot of fun doing experiments and playing with it. Lesson learned - next time, I'll buy her fewer toys and more science equipment! I'm also looking forward to using this with my camera for some fun photography effects.
