Great product. The strong magnets allow cleaning 5/8" thick glass on hurricane sliding doors where a 3" space between the fixed insect screen and the glass would have been too small for traditional cleaning tools. Using a soapy water in a garden sprayer to liberally coat both sides of the glass made it possible for the Glider to move freely in slow sweeping motions without the outside piece becoming detached. Most of the soap solution was removed by the squeeze and the few remaining drops were removed by using the microfiber cloths. This product is well designed and worth the purchase price.

The view out my third story windows in San Francisco is wonderful. However, the wonder is tempered by the dinginess of the windows - dirt, cobwebs and now fireash cover the windows. They are dangerous and near impossible to clean as only one of the windows actually opens. I’ve tried so many diy gadgets to try and get the job done and none have been easy or gave satisfactory results. Enter The Glider! Wow, just wow. It works really, really well. While it took some problem solving to get the pieces to the same place because of the structure of my windows, the second they are in contact, they snap together and then it’s easy. The only tricky thing was keeping the safety rope around my finger (definitely a necessity). I solved this by putting the ring around the buckle stem of my belt. The line was plenty long enough for the job. I’ve lived for years with dirty windows and in 10 minutes my windows are cleaner than I’ve ever had them my whole 17 years here. It was safe and easy.

I normally don't talk about this due to its nature, but I will to show how great this window cleaner works. For years various families of wild critters visits our bird feeder which is attached to the sliding patio door. There is no deck so it's hard to reach to clean. Squirrels, raccoons and opossum come every day & night for years. When it rains it becomes a muddy mess full of paw prints, fur and peanut butter. When the mothers bring the babies it's ends up needing a power washer. Sounds like it's more work then needed, but they are so polite and behaved it's unbelievable that we don't mind anymore. Now that I'm older with back issues, I can't go out to clean it, especially in the winter. The Glider D-3 grips together like you wouldn't believe. I mix ammonia and water together in a spray bottle, squirt the Velcro cloths and attach to sliding patio door. It slides across removing all the mess in one swipe leaving me with engery to stay up long enough to watch the amazing show. Definitely worth the purchase and the best purchase I've ever made.

I originally got the D2 for my double-pane window (about 20mm thick) but unfortunately the magents weren’t gripping enough. So I switched to the D3 and it’s so much better. I just moved into my apartment 3 months ago and the windows are getting cleaned for the first time. I’m so happy with how pristine they look. Gazing out of the window never felt this refreshing! If you’re on the fence or have borderline window thickness, just go for the D3 and save yourself the hassle. I’m also very impressed with Tyroler’s customer service and their emphasis to follow up and make sure I was satisfied.

Works great. I recommend it, but you might want to try the one with the weaker magnet if your windows are not double pane.

TLDR? Go for the D3 even if your window specs fit the D2!! Review for D3!! (D2 review below.) Purchased this to clean son's windows on the 14th floor which his building had not cleaned in nearly two years! Needless to say they were gross!! (Pic does not even began to show how bad they were!) We first practiced on the sliders to get a feel for it, there's def a learning curve so practicing on the sliders first made for an easier task with the windows. You need to absolutely saturate the glass (both sides!) so the tool can glide properly. In our case we had to be able to get the window cleaning solution to the top of 10ft high windows and could only do this by reaching out the window and spraying up, so to accomplish this we used a premixed 32oz liquid glass cleaner. (We followed the instructions to go in an S pattern and it worked pretty well but there was so much black gunk running down/streaking, we had to clean each window twice. (And then a 3rd time using the cloths for clean up!) Initially my son was frustrated with the amount of streaking but going back over them with the microfiber cloths took care of most of it. The one downside... because the microfiber cloths got so dirty I had to stop, wash them out, and partially dry them in the middle of cleaning which slowed things down considerably. Might not be the case if the windows hadn't been so dirty. Just the same, wish the seller included more cloths, or at least offered them as an add on when purchasing without the exorbitant shipping cost. Now the only way to get them is to pay $15 for the product plus another $10 for shipping. I don't mind paying top $$ for a good product, and the D3 is worth every penny, but $25 for four strips of fabric and shipping is a little ridiculous. I've attached pic.. left side is before cleaning, right side is cleaned window. Pic doesn't do it justice! D2 Review- 1 star... but 5 stars for Tyroler's exceptional customer service. Was so thrilled with the D3 I ordered the D-2 for my home as my windows fit the the specs for it. Well it is absolutely useless! The magnets in the D-2 aren't strong enough to hold the unit together! I spent more time pulling it back in after it fell than actually cleaning the windows. Took well over an hour to clean ONE double window! Wondering if I got a defective one?? Either that or the only one that actually works is the D-3, which based on specs, would have been overkill for my windows. Long story but I wasn't able to use the D2 until after the return deadline but I contacted Tyroler directly and they offered to exchange it for me, no charge! Exceptional customer service!

I can't believe I'm writing this, but this thing actually does what it says it's going to do. I was expecting this to be an as-seen-on-tv type product that I'd end up returning, but it worked!! I live on the seventh floor of an apartment building, and I have basically never cleaned my windows. (When I have, it's been a disaster.) I bought the thickest Glider in the hopes that I'd finally be able to get my windows clean. The magnets are VERY strong. So much so that I accidentally held them too close to each other and they got stuck. It took a bit of elbow grease to get them apart again. So my first piece of advice is keep the pieces separate - I mean really separate. Don't even put them down next to each other. It was very easy to use. I sprayed both sides of the window with cleaner (it wasn't even a glass cleaner, just a regular household all-purpose spray), then ran the squeegee as demonstrated in the how-to video. Then, I ran the squeegee over the windows again with the microfiber cloth attached. You can see the before and after pictures of my window - it's unbelievable. I've never seen my windows so clean!

Solves a big problem for me to clean bird poop off a high window that is impossible to reach from the outside by ladder. Even though the window is double glazed, the magnet is still strong enough for me to control from the inside and cause complete removal of debris on the window. Important to attach the emergency string before using in case the outside wiper becomes unnattached once in a while due to friction forces. Allow the exterior window to soak in moisture a bit before attempting to clean.
