Easy to install and Easy to use, has the wifi feature and can add the rain detector.

Very Feature Rich. Amazingly Simple Installation

I just replaced a Rain Bird EC6 controller with this one and it was not possible for it to have been an easier install . It was basically 30 minutes and done. But, that's not the main reason I give this controller 5 stars. What is most impressive is the clarity of the controls. I've used a few different sprinkler controllers in the past and could hardly ever 1) remember how to modify the settings 2) remember how to put it into manual test mode and 3) get it to conform to my city water restriction ordinances. This ESP4MEI model fixes all 3 problems. There's a nice instruction card connected to the inside door with velcro that lays out how to modify the settings but the most impressive part is how straight forward each setting adjustment is. This is the first sprinkler control box that I feel I can actually understand and is about as feature rich as you can get. Thank you Rain Bird.

Nice controller, plenty of room for expansion

Had an older ESP4 model (2012) that got taken out by a lightning strike. Looking at the pictures and description, it looked like it was very similar including the zone expansion modules. The only problem is the zone models for this one were different. The old one had 4 zones per module and this one only comes in 3 or 6 zones. I didn't see that when I ordered so I had to go back and order the expansion module to get all zones to work. If you need more than 4 zones you will have to also buy another zone module. After getting the zone module I needed everything ran perfect. This one has a lot more control than the older module and the digital controls make it much easier to program than the old one.

Great simple controller for irrigation ... I was looking for a very simple controller that works for multiple zones. This one has been installed and does the trick.

Switched from Builder's Irritol Controller to Rainbird

I replaced a 15 year old 6-station Irritol with this controller. The interface for the Rainbird controller is a little more intuitive. I liked the modular design, but didn't realize before I bought it that the base unit only controls 4 stations. An expander for 3 extra stations cost an extra $30, but was no problem with Amazon's one day prime delivery. Also, there's no need to unplug it when adding up to 20+ stations!

Simpler than I though it would be!

Very simple to install but be sure to take pics of how the wires look on the old unit before removing it! I don't know what I would've done if I hadn't taken the pictures! There's all different colors of wires and they go in all these different places.

very easy to install

Arrived in new condition, very easy to install. This was a replacement/upgrade unit for one that had worked fine for 10 years until lightning strike damaged it. I just noted where the wires went on the old unit and how many add on modules were and just ordered the same online. Saved a huge amount of $$. The installation alone was more than the price of this new unit.

Great product, easy to install.

I replaced a 13 year old rainbird controller that was struck by lighting and this one was quick and easy to install with exsisting wiring. The controller is very large since it is designed to expand up to many zones.
