Solid dryer for diffusing wavy hair
I bought this Conair Ion Shine dryer specifically to use with the xtava Black Orchid diffuser (also purchased on Amazon), after reading online that it fits this dryer. I was able to pop the diffuser on after removing the diffuser’s inner ring, though it’s a snug fit and took a little effort! I ordered the dryer in the glossy orange color, since that was the cheapest option ($22) and had Prime shipping. I wish there were more color options to choose from (black would be nice), though I do prefer this glossy finish to the “soft touch” versions since I find that the matte finish always ends up peeling off. The dryer came in a box with warranty information, directions/safety manual, an attachment that directs airflow for straightening, and a diffuser. I likely won’t use the attachments; you can see in the photo I included how much smaller and flatter the included diffuser is compared to the xtava. The dryer has 3 heat settings: cool, warm, and hot; and 2 speed settings: low and high. It also has a cool shot button. I find that in reality the cool shot button is more like room temperature, and the other settings are just varying levels of heat. It’s pretty lightweight without feeling cheap, and I like that the filter is removable. It does have a slight plastic-y smell when running that I hope will go away with repeated use. To diffuse my fine 2b wavy hair, I style it in the shower by scrunching with gel (aka, the “scrunch out the crunch” or SOTC method). After plopping in a t-shirt for 5 minutes and scrunching out some excess water, I use this dryer with the xtava diffuser on "cool" heat and low speed. They're pretty easy to switch between with one hand while drying. It dries fully in about 15-20 minutes, compared to 3 hours when I air dry. Then, I scrunch out the hard gel cast to reveal the waves. Overall, the dryer has served its purpose over the last couple months, and fit the diffuser. I’ll probably only use it about once or twice per week, so I hope it holds up for a long time!

513 days
I have had this blow dryer for 1 year 4 months and 26 days...today I laid this sucker to rest....It went out in a blaze of glory...and I mean that. Thankfully all of my hair is still on my head and I did not suffer any injuries when my blow dryer took its last breath...of fire. This thing started on fire! It made a God awful screaming noise, which should have been my queue to turn the sucker off but noooooo....I used it...I used it through the smoke smell....and the scream...and then...FIRE..I turned it off when the smoke came billowing out and a small fire could be seen in the back of the dryer. Needless to say...I am looking for an upgrade...until then, I will have wet and weirdly frizzy hair. This dryer was used nearly every single day I owned it, 513days It was used, it has traveled overseas, across state lines, I have used it under the influence, and on days I didn't really want to use it at all, hence the 5 stars. For everything it gave it was good, until it wasn't, I could be bald right now..but the scream was a warning. A warning I would heed and save my locks from the stinky burning smell and the weird burnt look. I recommend this blow dryer and when it starts to scream at you, listen to it.

Cuts hair drying time in half
I have had this hairdryer for years with no problems. I have CRAZY THICK hair that takes forever to dry. Not with this baby!!! It has a SUPER STRONG air power and the cool mode is ACTUALLY cold air!! I swear it cuts the amount of time it takes to dry with my old hair dryer in half. I am so passionate about this amazing hair dryer that i've bought it for my mom and sister. Everyone needs this hairdryer. For the price you will not get a better hairdryer. To be honest, you could spend 10X the price and this would still be the better buy.

A must have in my book.
I own the same exact blow dryer and it's 4 years old and STILL going strong. I bought it from Target for $30. My sister needed one for her at home hair treatments and so I purchased one for her on Amazon because it's much cheaper. The power is incredible and the settings have many options. It has never steered me wrong. I dropped it, used it to blow up an air mattress using the cold setting and it has never disappointed me. I love the 2 attachments it comes with. I use the narrow one to straighten my hair and the diffuser to enhance my curls. It's perfect. It has a long life span so it's definitely worth a try. You'll love.

Very decent blow dryer, quality may decline over time?
We owned this model that we bought several years ago but this same model has gotten much better (or the other one declined in performance over time, I'm not really sure). Either way, this one gets your hair dry quickly without causing a lot of heat damage. I was looking for the cheapest/best model out there, as long as it had 3 heat settings and 2 speeds, and this one works great. However, I don't really have any experience to compare it to, I am sure there are much better models out on the market, but if you don't have hundreds to spend on one, this one feels very decent for the price.

A curly hair must!
Purchased this because it had great reviews and a diffuser. The first one I received had to get sent back because it wasn’t what I ordered (the black came with oil but no diffuser, don’t let the pictures fool you). I reordered in orange, which was on sale. Let me start by saying I have naturally curly hair that frizzes for any reason or even no reason. Doesn’t matter what I use. I was so tired of it I was straightening it. This hair dryer is a blessing! My hair use to take an hour to blow dry because I had to straighten it with the concentrator with my last dryer. Now, it only takes 15-30 minutes to blow dry and I end up with perfect frizz free hair. If I use cool/low it takes 30 minutes but I have no frizz; if I use med/low, it takes 15 minutes but I have a drop of frizz. I wouldn’t try it on anything higher for my kind of hair. I’ve recommended it to my sister and niece as we all have the same kind of hair.

Nice quality hair dryer
I really like this hair dryer for several reasons. Probably the most important feature for me is that you have choices concerning heat level, as well as air flow level. If you're in a hurry, this hair dryer gets hot enough to dry hair quickly without frying it. If you want to dry more slowly at high heat, or even at a lower heat, the settings allow for those choices as well. You choose the combination that best suits you. The control buttons are placed on the handle, and I have never found their placement inconvenient. I've never accidently changed a setting while using the hairdryer. Another feature I like is that even though this is a big hairdryer, I don't find it overly heavy. I don't feel like I'm lifting weights when I use this product. Although there are probably hairdryers that are lighter, I've not seen one of this quality weigh as little. I definitely take this hairdryer when I'm traveling, simply because I love using it that much. It is not compact, and it does not fold, but that's not a problem for me.

Second time owning this dryer
I bought my first hair dryer of this exact same model, exact same color about 6 years ago and have pretty much used it every single day. I have long, very thick hair so having a hair dryer that will not frizz my hair and dry it expediently is very important. Sadly, I dropped the hair dryer on a hard tile floor in just such a way that it literally broke apart and while it still turned on and heat up, I did not trust it for daily usage. I searched Amazon and read review after review for different hair dryer models and didn't like a lot of what I was reading, especially for the more expensive models. So I decided to go back to what I know and trust and placed an order for this model again. It has not let me down in the past. I would advise giving it a try. I do have to put in here though that if you are looking for foldable, travel dryer this is not one and if you need a super quiet hair dryer, this is also not one. It is a bit noisy.

Really nice
Ok, do... my old dryer works just fine. But. I saw on Amazon that there were dryers that let you do high speed low temp and vice versa - whereas my old one has hot and high. So, as part of my project to update my hair syling appliances with low temps for my fine hair, I bought this one. It feels nice in my hand, looks great, controls are easy to adjust while using it, and the results look great. I am glad that I replaced my old one.

Happy Wife -- Happy Life!
My lovely wife tasked me with replacing her previous CONAIR hair dryer which actually lasted through 10 years of hard use by her. She has very thick and naturally wavy hair and likes to keep it straight. Although she said that she would be happy with my choice for a replacement, I refused to fall for that trick (once again). So I researched her old unit and found this one as a good replacement. It was as close as you could get to the CONAIR model she had previously. This one is orange in color versus her black and grey old model. Since the color didn't matter to her (had to think on that a bit to see if it was another trap) I ordered this INFINITIPRO. After commenting on how pretty it was she fired it up and said that she had to maintain a good grip on it since it was so powerful! She is extremely happy with the product so that takes a bit of pressure off me when she assigns me my next task. Score one for the old man!
