First off, I want to be clear: I am NOT writing a review to get free products; that's not me. I write reviews when something really wows me, or makes me happy. And also, to help other people in their searches. That aside, I have never owned a yoga mat, or even sat on one before this. I purchased this one in particular, after looking at about 30 or so- some up to $70! (Ridiculous!) And most cost more if you want an actual color. Not true of this mat. After reading almost all of it's reviews, and reading the fact that it was THE number one top selling yoga mat, (on Amazon), it was the thickness I wanted, the right color, material, a 2-year warranty, and just $18?! I purchased it immediately! Two days later, I was very pleasantly surprised! It was packaged super great. I rolled it out, laid down, and wondered why the heck I didn't do this earlier. Feels like heaven on my back. I'm a 53-year old female whose joints need tender care. I only do light yoga, stretches, am only 125 lbs., so I can tell that this will last me quite a while. Excellent quality. I could even sleep on it, in the event of an emergency. Lastly, it has Velcro straps to hold it together, and a nice shoulder sling. It is perfect!

I don't "Yoga", unless you call going prone with a long range tactical rifle "Yoga." I can see where this mat wouldn't endure long-term Yoga exercises, but as a SHOOTER'S mat, it's just plain awesome! What makes this great, aside from the $16.95 price I paid during one of Amazon's "Lightening Deals" -- are a few key things that make this ideal for prone shooters. First, it's waterproof neprene with soft, rubberized coatings on either size. It won't get soaked in rain and it won't wick-up moisture from damp/wet ground. Second, it is very light and easily portable. It rolls into its own carry strap. Third, it's very THICK, making it incredibly comfortable for your knees, elbows and other pointy areas that don't last long on hard ground before discomfort quickly sets in. Fourth, it provides GREAT heat and cold isolation from the ground beneath. You can put it on a hot or very cold surface and you remain almost completely isolated. The mat compresses easily, so you can place your bipod on the mat itself and "load" into it because the feet will sink into the mat, allowing you to get good purchase on the rifle. For $17, it's an unbeatable option and worth every penny, even if you have to buy a new one every year.

Balance from Go Yoga all purpose exercise mat with carrying strap is a top of the line company for yoga products. Product colors are vibrant with many color options (we bought 4 in colors, blue, red and green). The thickness is one of the best things about the mat. I am a 41 year old mother of two with major chronic pain issues, including a knee replacement and this mat is heaven on my body. No matter what the exercise, this product delivers. The other three mats are used by my 2 teenage daughters, one who has already had knee surgery and the other who suffers from back issues, and my 45 year old husband who has also had a knee replacement, plantar fasciitis and bad hip pain and they won't go to the gym without them. They used to have mats from other vendors and have also used the gym's yoga mats and I can say with total certainty that Balance From yoga mats will bring you 100% satisfaction and your body will love you for it. Thanks for making working out at the gym a pleasure and something to look forward to!!! We are guaranteed loyal customers for all our exercise needs!

I just received this in the mail, and I knew immediately I would like it. It is incredibly cushioned, which for me is of major importance. I have bad knees, and regular mats are never cushioned enough for me. I bruise easily, but this seems like it will prevent any sort of bruising or soreness on my knees or hips. I don't really do any impact type exercise, so I cannot give a review to it on that. I do however do Piyo daily, as well as a few other body weight resistance and strengthening exercises, and this has an awesome grip. No more sliding or falling due to instability issues caused by no traction. I look forward to being able to do the exercises without fear of a few routines again! On a side note, I haven't noticed any odd or offensive smells, so that's a bonus! I am actually considering ordering a second mat for my husband! He is 6'3, and this seems like it is long enough, and soft enough for his back injury, for him to use as well

This is an unusual use for a yoga mat, but I needed something that was easily carried around that I could use for my older dog who no longer has a lot of strength in his back legs to get up easily. He is a very large bouvier and when we go to the vet, there are only tile floors and if he gets down, he cannot get back up on his own as there is no traction. So I thought about using a small rug, but that is hard to carry and not big enough. Then I found this yoga mat and it is perfect! it is easy to carry with us--I keep it in the car, and I can just bring it into any place where he might have trouble. So I unroll it, he lays down--it cushions his joints from the hard floor a bit, and he has the traction he needs to get back up when we have to move. I liked it so much that I am going to get one for myself for meditation. Sometimes a product works for an "out of the box" idea!

I bought this to use while traveling because photos of my Airbnb revealed that there was no carpeting anywhere in the apt., all hardwood. It was small enough and light enough to fit into a suitcase (not the carry-on size but one larger) and cheap enough to leave it there for the next resident! I used it with a towel on it, so I can't attest to how slippery it is without. It certainly didn't slide around on the floor; you have to actually pull at it to move it. The thickness was just right for my Pilates exercises which include kneeling but light weight enough that even I, with back problems, could lift it and roll it if needed. It comes with a two straps (attached to each other) that go around the rolled-up yoga mat on two ends and you can sling it on your shoulder with the in-between attached strap. I'd buy this again for sure.

I love the thickness of this mat. Feels like a memory foam cushion between me and the floor. I wanted a thick mat especially for keeping my knees protected from the floor as I do a lot of dancing as well as yoga. This mat did not fit in my yoga bag though, as this mat is significantly longer than the yoga bag I purchased -- and the carry handle did not stay on, slipped off at some point, but I haven't needed the handle. I just keep it rolled up in my car and then carry when needed from my car to the yoga studio. Best part -- NO funny chemical odors. One side is smooth, the other side is striated. I use it with the striated side down and the smooth side up. It can slip occasionally but has not been a problem for me as I usually have it weighted down with the bolster or a blanket. If slippage becomes a problem, I can always place this on top of the regular non-slip yoga mat they provide at the yoga studio.

Pros: +The straps that hold the rolled up mat make for easy storage and portability (whether to a different area of the house or to carry it to a class, or somewhere outside. +Stable on the feet and floor. I have used other mats and they have slid around on various surfaces. This holds tight during poses, which is obviously also related to... +SAFETY. Even balanced on one leg I don't have fears about this slipping. My feet sink enough into the material to be cushioned/supported, and also still. +Comfort (especially for knees). I have a knee condition which has led to various surgeries, including a screw in one, so my knees can be tender on hard surfaces, especially when holding poses that keep you there. This has made a HUGE difference in comfort, which has led to an increase in the amount of yoga that I do. +Variety of colors. I always know which one is mine! +Price- at $20, this is worth it even if I use it out in a year of regular use. Other mats have been huge disappointments and people will spend outrageous amounts on mats of the same or lesser quality. Why? +MINOR con: Although it's temporary, it should be noted that the first couple uses included that "new" smell, which is not very pleasant if you have your face down in the mat. However, after a few unrolling uses, it dissipated. I got one of these for someone else as a christmas gift, before buying my own, and they love it for the same reasons!

This exercise mat is actually pretty fantastic given its inexpensive price. I purchased this mat to use at an outdoor "boot camp" exercise group I just joined. The padding is cushy and thick enough to protect your back, knees, and other weight bearing body parts utilized when exercising. I liked the nylon strap that came with the mat as well. It's nice to be able to roll the mat up, put the strap on, and toss it over my back. It keeps the mat from unrolling and getting destroyed in the back of my car. That and it also keeps me from looking ridiculous when trying to carry a mat that won't stay rolled up! I did some jumping on the mat wearing tennis shoes and it's true to the claim that it is anti-tear. I was surprised it didn't rip the moment my less than beach-body ready bod started flopping around on it! Wash it with a damp cloth to get any residual dirt off and you're good to go! Also, let it dry before rolling it up because it can get stinky. Speaking from experience here.

...and I love it! I'm not a tiny person and yet it's firm enough to cushion, but soft enough to be comfy. I use it ripple side up and it isn't slippery at all....and, believe me, I'm sweatin'! I bought the purple version and it was very true to color in the photo. It had small marks where the straps were fastened too tight, but nothing terribly noticeable, and they do puff back out after some use. It's definitely better quality than I expected for the price. Namaste with this mat !!!
