Blown away. Would buy again.
I was not expecting this to be as good as it was! I read the reviews about it being very stable and figured "ok, probably pretty good" but no, seriously, this thing is rock solid. I've been using it heavily this past weekend after setting it up Friday night and have been nothing but pleased. The hinge under the mount is stiff enough to keep the laptop where you want it, yet loose enough for easy adjustment. The build in cord organizers keep everything tidy and I can't emphasize this enough, this thing DOES. NOT. GIVE. Even under large amounts of typing it remains rock solid. They also get bonus points for putting the grippy rubber under the base, it's a real pain to have to use cloth scraps to keep pressure mounts from scratching up my desk. Stop debating! Get one of these!!!

High quality product, easy-to-follow instructions, well-designed.
It gets 5+ stars from me. I had my laptop propped up on a box for the longest time because I needed to improve my posture and was tired of leaning down over to see the screen, but because I then needed my Bluetooth keyboard in front of it, I still ended up having to crane my neck forward to see the screen well. Then, I ordered the VIVO Single Laptop mount. It took about 20-30 minutes to put together (GREAT set of instructions, by the way. Very clear and easy to follow, even for someone like me who can hardly ever figure out how to put things together). It's very high quality, mounts easily and has improved my posture while seated at my desk, and now, as a bonus, I can actually work standing as well! I LOVE all the thought that went into designing this product. It even has a place to store the Allen keys that allow you to make adjustments if needed so that they won't get lost.

I'm really happy with the stand
I received the stand yesterday, and put it up immediately. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble, but mainly because I didn't pull the desk out from the wall. It took me another 30 minutes tweaking and adjusting to my liking and working on all the cable management, but again due to my specific setup. Overall, I'm really happy with the stand. It accomplished my goal of regaining desk space at a very reasonable cost. PROS: - Cheap (cost NOT quality) - Easy to Assemble - Very Sturdy - Highly Adjustable - Everything needed was included (except the screwdriver, but come on...you should already have this) CONS: - Height adjustment can be a pain once monitor is attached. (Nit picking here - More below) I have to say I was rather skeptical about the build quality of this product, but I was completely wrong! This is a solid stand, well built and trimmed. I didn't find any sharp edges or un-coated areas. The fluidity of the parts can be adjusted with the included Allen wrench. The only thing to know when buying is that the arms cannot be adjusted height wise on the fly. It requires you to loosen a bolt to adjust. But I knew this coming in to this stand, so no star deductions from my end. I've attached some pictures to show the before and after. I was able to regain a ton of space and was able to unclutter my desk. Love it!!!

The result looks good and is very sturdy
Very solid construction with a design that lends itself to many applications. In my case, I wanted a place for my laptop on my exercise bike. I bolted the bottom bracket of the stand to the steel frame of my exercise bike. It was a bit of work, but my use case is unconventional, so not at all a negative for the product. The result looks good and is very sturdy.

This thing is rock solid.
If you adjust it properly (easy to do), you can trust it with your expensive laptop. ☞ Built sturdy, with high quality engineering, materials, and workmanship. ★ Note: THIS IS ALSO A MONITOR STAND. All the hardware is included so you can use it either with the laptop tray, or the VESA mount on a monitor. Nifty. ☞ I've got a heavy 17" laptop on it, arm fully extended, and sagging is minimal. It's easy to adjust to keep the laptop level. ☞ The only shortcoming is that the height adjustment requires the appropriate allen wrench. You can't just loosen a knob, raise or lower, and tighten the knob. You have to do this with the included tool. As others have said, this minor inconvenience is trivial compared to the superior quality of the stand. Highly recommend.

Your back and nexk will thank you
I should note that I bought a similar mount from another vendor that had certain advantages (notably, it had two screws to affix to the underside of the desk). However, it was damaged upon arrival, and I ordered this rather than run the risk of another poorly packaged product. First, this is an idea whose time has come. I mean, most home office desks are about 32 inches raised from the floor. A standard laptop stand will add only a few inches more -- not a lot if you spend much time craned over a laptop. The difference here is HUGE, I mean, you're neck will thank you inside of a week. This is solidly constructed and very simple in appearance -- works well in my effort to declutter. What you need to know: * This is of sturdy construction and is a breeze to put together (even for me! ;) * It raises a laptop to eye level (I'm 6' 1" and, as noted, my desktop is about 32" off the ground) * The arm has several joints and the plate holding the laptop angles to about 15 degrees allowing for adjustments to fit your own preferences (closer, angled, etc). * The plate holds my 15" wide laptop without concern of it's falling off despite a slight overhang on either side. * Blessedly, you can swing your computer out of the way to clear your desk of any clutter and to get down to the business of writing longhand, etc. * I was concerned the clamp would not prove sturdy, but after more than a week of intensive use I've had no issues.

A Unique Perspective on a Great Product.
This product has been exactly what I needed. I have a bit of a unique use case and this gets the job done for me. I have a portable standing desk from container store) that uses hydraulics to go from a sitting desk height to a standing desk height. I'm trying to transition to mostly standing while I work. The problem was that when using a laptop in the standing position I was still having to look down all day at my screen which was not comfortable for my neck. I wasn't convinced that the standard height VIVO mount would be tall enough so I ordered the VIVO Laptop & LCD Monitor Stand up Desk Mount Extra Tall Adjustable Stand fits 1 Screen up to 27" (STAND-V012C). To be honest the pole is a bit too long if you're using it the way I am, but it's designed to allow you to stand when it's mounted to a sitting height desk which it would be perfect for. That being said you can adjust the height of your monitor & laptop to whatever height you want to get the perfect viewing angle. I suppose you could always just cut the top of the pole off to the desired height as well if you're using it in the same way that I am. I'm currently using it with a laptop as my only screen and I've mounted that at eye level. I'm using a wireless keyboard and mouse on the desktop surface so that the ergonomics are ideal. I haven't installed the second arm for the monitor yet, because I haven't decided which monitor I want. My setup requires something really lightweight, and for now the setup I'm using with the laptop only is working great. Also keep in mind that all of the parts for this thing a fairly modular. I mounted my laptop plate to the arm that is designated for the monitor, because I didn't need the extra length of the laptop arm for my setup. You can also shorten (remove a link) from the laptop arm if you desire so that you have two arms that are the same length. So you have some flexibility with your installation. You can customize it quite a bit to fit your needs. One thing I forgot to mention is that even in my setup which is a bit unique in the sense that I'm mounting it to a portable and lightweight structure this thing is still extremely solid. It's securely attached and doesn't give a bit. All in all this is a great product that allows some flexibility to meet whatever your specific needs are and I highly recommend it. Lastly I wanted to mention that this review is not a sponsored post. I paid full price for this thing and I highly recommend it.

Stronger than expected, very stable. Don't need a grommet hole, just a 3/8-1/2" hole for through desk/table mounting.
Just finished installing this unit. I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy and well made this stand was. The C-Clamp and mounting bracket are thick sturdy metal. If I was installing using either of them, I would trust that they would hold. I used the grommet mount. Should have read the directions and looked at all the parts first. I drilled a 2" circle in my desktop, only to find that it is only 3/8" bolt, not a sleeve that goes through the hole. Wish that was clearer, but not docking a star for it. Anyway, I've found the entire set up to be very stable. I have a laptop and 27" monitor setup and everything is very sturdy and not showing signs of unwanted movement once I tightened all the joints. I just wish I had searched for the model with a wider laptop tray, so I could put my mouse on the tray as well.

Perfect For Anyone Needing to Make the Most of Small Work Spaces
Perfect for what I needed. I couldn't be more satisfied. Took me 45 minutes to put together, and that was while my interest was divided on a work conference call. The instructions were missing a step, but it was easy to figure out by that point. It's sturdy for what I need. I will mostly be leaving it in the same position and typing on my wireless keyboard, so I'm not at all worried about wear and tear. It's versatile as far as positioning goes, height, angle and such. It's eye level and I can move it closer or further away, tilt if I move my chair...It looks pretty neat, too (I think) and best of all, it frees up my tiny desk for my keyboard, mouse and a notebook. This is perfect for anyone who needs to make the most out of small work spaces.

... have been searching for a long time for a good laptop mount that would work with my recliner chair
I have been searching for a long time for a good laptop mount that would work with my recliner chair. I read a few of the negative reviews of this but decided I would take a chance as it seemed to be what I wanted. It is very sturdy although some people found it too heavy. I thought it just right. The tray that holds the laptop has a good lip but I recalled a criticism that a laptop could slide off. I don't see how. One thing I did add - tablecloth clips that keep the laptop secure when I want to open it. It was not difficult to assemble but did take a bit of time since there are dual instructions - for laptop tray or for TV mount. Lots of extra pieces. As I just received it yesterday and got it set up today after changing around the table next to my chair to one that more easily accommodates this. At least now I can have my computer in a good position for typing but can swing it out of the way when not in use. If there are problems that develop later I will update my review but as of now it seems perfect!
