I use these in my jewelry crafting and design. I am 50 and have both osteo and rheumatoid arthritis in my hands, and good tools are essential to my work. Giving up my passion is simply not an option, thankfully at least yet. These wire cutters have reduced the pain and fatigue in my hands as I work quite a bit, as well as the design of the nose of them being just perfect for making jewelry where I often have to use them in harder to get at spots, or more particular angles. Also they are much better at making a clean cut, without the ends of wires or other metal bits shooting off in the room unexpectedly, although, of course it still happens occasionally. The price here is excellent too, compared to other places I shopped for the same pair.

I purchased the cutters for use when making plastic model kits. I needed something, other than a sharp razor knife, to remove parts from the sprue trees with minimal damage. I also didn't want to spend a lot on them (as you can see, with a quick search, others can be quite expensive). I had not seen these before and took a chance on them when they "popped-up" as a recommended item for me. I'm glad I did. I've now used them while build a model and found they work very well. This was a European model kit which has soft plastic, these cutters easily handled them and cut through the plastic without crushing. The parts came away from the sprues cleanly and without effort. The handles are spring-loaded and the cutting blades, on my example, are perfectly aligned. I would readily recommend them to other modelers as a cost-effective tool for model building.

These are a nice set of micro wire cutters. They are sharp and have a warning on the handle. The warning says to wear safety goggles. The reason for this is that if you cut a small part of a copper wire off, it can go flying in any direction. At least look away and close your eyes. (no really wear safety goggles) I pretty much ignored the warning and cut a small bit off a wire. The small piece hit me on the cheek. I respect them now and I try to avoid clipping off tiny pieces. They are sharp. I hope they stay that way. (will update if they don't) I had never owned a pair of wire cutter this small but I am glad I do now. I use them more than I thought I would. The price is great. There are cheaper options that ship from China but you end up waiting weeks for those. I see this same pair under different brands at B&M stores for a bit more. (Microcenter carries them for example) Do you ever need to cut off a small zip tie off of something but don't want to cut the underlying wire? These work well for that. I also use them to trim the wires on Ethernet wire before trying to fit them into the connector. (making wire into a cable with ends) I get a nice and even cut across all of the wires with one cut. I was using large diagonal cutters before I got these. That worked but not near as well. My wife saw these and took a pair for her jewelry making hobby.

Alrighty. I’m preface this with - ‘Don’t try this at home’. Nevertheless, it worked!!! My horseshoe septum piercing was stuck. I couldn’t get either ball loosened at home. Two piercers at the local tattoo shop were also unsuccessful in removing it. We discussed options and he reluctantly mentioned wire cutters. I knew amazon would have a rock bottom price for a good pair. THESE WORKED LIKE A CHARM. Scared the pants off me when it cut through the 14g horseshoe hut that was doe to my fragile nerves and images OFM me cutting my nose off. All is well and I’m on to a new septum ring that looks great!! I highly recommend these cutters!!

I originally bought these for the singular purpose of providing clean wire cuts on these connectors: UbiGear 100 Pcs Pass Through CAT5e RJ45 Network Cable Modular Plug 8P8C Connector End I've since learned that they are a lot more versatile, and very valuable. Yes, they allow me to cleanly and precisely cut my CAT5/6 wire pairs at exactly 90-degrees, but also allow me flush-cut plastic posts on project cases (I'm an electronic nut who builds his own projects and then jams them into existing or newly purchased enclosures). They're good, they work well, and I would recommend them. What more can I say?

These cutters are excellent at the $5 price point. I purchased one to add to my at-home vaping tool kit, and a second pair for my electronics repair tool kit. After about a month of use, these are points to consider when purchasing this product. To help in deciding to purchase I have added photos for you to see the product up close. Pros: At $5 dollars, you can't beat the price. The handles are non-slip rubber/plastic without being to sticky, doesn't attract dust or dirt. The handles protect your palm when cutting, softening the feel when applying cutting pressure. The blades are hard metal, and after a month show no nicking or bending. (see picture) The blades are at enough of an angle to get close when cutting without blocking your view. Warnings on handles reminds you to ALWAYS WEAR EYE PROTECTION and CUT WIRE MAX THICKNESS 1.3 mm Spring back handles feel firm and just right for repeated cuts. Cons: Only for use on small, soft wires. ** Not designed for heavy duty or home electrical wiring. I have seen some review stating the blades are uneven when handles are squeezed together (seems rare) [...]

This is a delicate tool and is meant for cutting SOFT material. I ruined my first pair trying to cut steel nails with it. (Don't try that!) I did purchase a second pair, which I will take better care of. These work great for precision cutting, for example to flush cut material. I used it recently to cut some zip ties so that the tail would be flush with the head, so as to not have any jagged edges. Prior to that I had tried with a pair of scissors and could not get the cut flush, and the zip tie's tail end was a little too sharp for comfort.

As you can see from the pics, mine have been ridden hard and put away wet. Do not let the cutting blade condition fool you, these will work forever if you use them as designed (small elec wire, cable ties, etc). However mine have been put into service performing operations they were not strictly designed for. These cutters have survived: - Loosening screws - Cutting thin sheet metal - Cutting plastic - Cutting more robust wire than they should have - Prying up random clips and such - Being accidentally dunked in carb cleaner - Being sprayed off with Brakleen after being dunked in carb cleaner - Being covered in brake fluid - Being sprayed off with Brakleen after being covered in brake fluid The pivot has never loosened, the grips are still intact, and they still cut well. These do their job (and clearly others) better than any small cutters I've used. Buy one, or five.

Although these are advertised as soft wire cutters, I bought them for my PC tool bag mainly as zip tie cutters. Using normal wire cutters to cut the extra length off of the zip ties after fastening them can leave a small amount of the clipped tie still protruding, which ends up being sharp and pointy. When using these cutters for the same task, they cut flush to the head of the zip tie and leave a very smooth edge with no protruding remnant of the clipped tie. They cut soft wire equally well. I've made plenty of cat5e ethernet cables using these cutters and they cut cleanly and easily every time. No stray strands are left attached like with some wire cutters. The handle is very comfortable and provides a nice grip in use. Also, with it being red, it's easier to find when digging around in my tool bag. For the price, these are a great investment.

I've always been askeered of these snip-type cutters - they always sent a tail flying...the same shock force that did that went into the component! diodes don't like that treatment. Scissor (shear) style cutters don't shock components while cutting the leads. Well. Shear style scissor cutters can't do a flush cut. And I cant explain how these things cut so smoothly without ANY shock, without sending the clipped tail flying. As a matter of fact; it's a bit irritating that the cut-off tail STAYS in the cutter jaws! What manner of sorcery goes on here?
