Gourmet Delight

My favorite brand of Limburger. This batch was youthful and mild. As any lover of Limburger knows, as it ages it becomes increasingly pungent. I like ripe Limburger, but it's nice to have a choice. I ate the first package as it was, but I'm letting some of the others age a bit. It arrived sooner than expected in a well insulated, refrigerated box. This cheese is not for everyone, and as it ages those numbers drop. Limburger, rye bread, mustard, and cold beer is a combination made in heaven.

Terrific product. If you enjoy Limburger cheese you'll be delighted with this product. We ordered the four-pack and my brothers are already on their way over first thing in the morning to get their share. I don't think this one little box will last too long. Now I need to read up on how best to care for it: I know it is best at room temperature but that is not always convenient. Sure wish somebody made the old fashioned Limburger in a little ceramic jar-that was pretty special cheese. If you like this don't hesitate-you'll enjoy this cheese. Makes me want to know more about their sausage!!

It stinks to high heaven. Some people had to leave the room because they felt ill.

But it tastes like brie. I like brie. I don't like the smell of limburger. I would never have known that, though, if this fantastic cheesemaker hadn't been nice enough to ship me a bunch. I made a sandwich with rye and onions as recommended. I drank a stout beer with it. In general the experience was good except the stench clung to my fingers and lips for a while after. I also made the mistake of wearing a mask (this is during the coronavirus pandemic) right after and my mask smells so bad I had to get rid of it. That was just from my breath. So if you always wanted to know how truly bad limburger smells and how pleasant it tastes, this is a good exemplar.

The real Mccoy

This is the only genuine tasty Limburger cheese in America. All the other similar cheeses are rubbery and tasteless. This genuine article transports and keeps well. It priced fairly. We do it several times during colder seasons and it is a special treat.

Excellent Product

Consistently excellent Limburger Cheese. In warmer months it comes packaged in a 7"x8"x9" Styrofoam cooler with two cooler bricks. You need to let it age some to reach its great flavors and always serve it warm not cold. I find I can put one of the bricks of cheese in a sealed plastic container on a counter in the kitchen at room temperature and it ripens more rapidly than in the refrigerator. It will keep for weeks that way slowly improving in flavor and ready to snack on any time.

The smell is infamous, the taste is great

I've always seen this cheese joked about in old cartoons and it's impossible to find in my area. The smell is for real, like stinky socks. The taste is kind of like a slightly bitter brie, and after having it a few times it turns out I really love it. It's a unique taste not quite like anything I've had before. Put me down as a fan. I'm usually spreading it on toasted English muffins.

My first time having Limburger was a few weeks ago and it was from a local grocery. Like others said....found it marginal in taste and rubbery. This was completely different. Taste and texture was outstanding. I don't find this crazy smelly either as I was expecting. Very happy with purchase but did find the 3 day shipping even to northern state was pushing it. It has been freezing here during the last week and just got to mid 40's today....ice pack was completely melted and everything felt like room temp unpacking it (got some pates with the cheese too). Sure it all will be fine but probably would not order outside of winter to be on safe side.

Excellent product, thank you. Haven't been able to find this delicious cheese for years. The rye bread, cheese, onion, & mustard sandwich was simply great. Those that turn noises up about the cheese...eat it on hot dogs & hamburgers and love it ... first, melt the cheese, and mix ketchup and mustard with it. Adds a great flavor to dogs and hamburgers as a dressing. They don't know they are eating Limburger Cheese and ask for that special dressing.

Outstanding Product!

I am 71 years old and I have ate Limburger since I was in my teens. I especially liked the Kraft creamed Limburger in the jar that Kraft stopped making years ago. This product arrived by FedEx today and I immediately opened one and got the crackers. Absolutely outstanding! The "Wisconsin Cheese Mart" has a customer for life for whatever years I have left here. This product is better than the Kraft Limburger.
