Consumer Reports and others do a good job on behalf of the corporate beasts to scare you into paying $200 a tire.
Needs a bit of a break in period I think to smooth out the rubber, but feels and sounds about the same as the Pirelli's that were stock on the GTI, but cheaper. Great deal for tires to me. Driven in rain and dry and the grip is as good as the most expensive "American" brands (most tires made in China/southeast asia/mexico and the tire companies don't disclose this). Don't believe all the hype you hear about cheap tires folks. Consumer Reports and others do a good job on behalf of the corporate beasts to scare you into paying $200 a tire.

Decent bang for your buck.
This is an initial review. I will update as I put more miles on them. Installed on a 2008 VW R32 used for daily work commuting ~45 miles a day. I didn’t feel like spending another 1200 bucks on another set of Driveguards that only lasted 20k miles. So I figured...eh. Let’s give it a shot. Figure if I get even close to 20k, well worth the money. Initial review so far is good. ~50 miles so I can’t speak to the durability as of yet. Quieter than my Driveguards ever were. Smooth. No ill effects so far. My wallet is pleasantly surprised for now. They aren’t run flats like the old ones, but I’m okay with that. 2500 mile update: Still holding strong. I’ve driven them through the rain, standing water, etc with no issues. They hug the road nice and tight. Tread is good. No break down. I remain pleasantly surprised.

Superior dry grip.
Ok I've had these for few weeks now. I'm very satisfied. The lateral grip is top notch. Wet acceleration is not very good, but these aren't designed for that anyway. I did notice that the aren't as 'responsive' horizontally as my Continentals that they replaced, but they have tremendous horizontal grip. Overall I would recommend these to anyone who wants to focus on dry grip and performance.

Buy!
I was hesitant to buy Indonesian tires and thought that I would regret the purchase. After having them installed and doing some spirited driving, these things perform! I have them on a 2008 VW GTI 2.0 Turbo. Traction is great, I now have wheel hop instead of just smoking the tires. Dry performance is awesome, wet performance good; snow and ice, not so good but these aren’t winter tires, after all. I don’t expect these tires to last 50,000 miles, maybe not even 30,000 but that’s not why I bought them. They grip and handle well, I’ll be buying another set when these are gone. Can’t beat the price!

High quality tires
These tires are a steal for the quality. I’ve compared these specific set of tires to other brands tires that were more expensive, but had a lower tread grade and speed rating. Even when I went to a tire shop, if I would have purchased this tire (same grade and all), it would have cost $140+ per tire. This is really good priced and don’t think just because it’s cheap, it’s bad. Look at the specs. I’m really impressed. Also has good grip/traction on the road.

it was pouring rain and they handled the wet mountain roads better than my factory tires ever did when the car ...
I put these on my 2016 Dart. The car had Yokohama's from the dealer that barely lasted 30,000 miles. Dealer tried to sell me a new set at 21k. The day I mounted these, it was pouring rain and they handled the wet mountain roads better than my factory tires ever did when the car was brand new! They ride smooth and quite! These were half the price of my stock tires that did not last 1/3 of the warranty period. I will save my money and buy another set of these when they wear out!

Why pay more for a tire.
Installing these tires on my 2014 cadillac ats. Read a lot of reviews on these specific tires from more than just amazon's sight. Did some research on the Achilles brand. Known for high quality tires respected in europe mainly. For the money figured it was warranted to give them a try. I think above all it reveals the profit margins on more expensive tires that have similar tread wear, speed, and traction ratings. Yes you can pay more question is why? These are DOT rated tires. That gave me peace of mind.

using these on my prosche 911 and so far great. quiet tires and handle really good
using these on my prosche 911 and so far great. quiet tires and handle really good. Was able to take some really sharp turns at high speed and they handled well. These will be used on wet and dry conditions, but no snow conditions.

For $60 each, dont think twice about it, buy them
Great looking tire. Quieter than my old Falken Summer tires. Only thing is I did notice that they seem just a little bit more narrow and they seem to have a smaller profile than them Falken tires even though they're the same size supposedly (225/40/18.) But in my case it worked out great because it just means I have more room and less rubbing issues on my lowered accord. Id buy them again and will
