I've had this to for about 6 months now and it's still going strong! Yes, my son (2 years old) has thrown it on the ground many, many times and despite it being made out of thin material , it's still working fine. He loves the lights and the siren (which is loud). We use it on hard wood floors and have not had any issues so far. You turn it on, the lights and sirens go off and it even says "fire alarm lets go" and "get out of my way" until you turn it off again. The best part is that if it bumps into something, it'll auto correct by backing up and turning around. We love it!

Its amazing!
When the truck showed up I was a little disappointed at Christmas when I saw how small it was compared to the other gifts. A couple hours later my brother sent me a video of my nephew playing with only this truck. And it driving itself all over with incredibly bright lights and great Sirens streaming out of it. It was his favorite toy and we were all blown away by it. I was pleasantly surprised by this and so was my nephew. What a great little truck

It's soooooooo loud.
My son is 2 and 1/2 in recently has found a fascination with fire trucks, so we decided to buy him one, and I found this one it has lights and makes noise that drives itself that's perfect right? So I read the reviews has the most wonderful reviews accept everyone was talking about how loud it was. I honestly just thought those people were crazy and just didn't like kids toys that make sounds, because who does? But this thing has got to be the loudest toy I have ever heard in my entire life! The lady that shove the wax from Babybel cheese in the speaker is a genius, we put a piece of cardboard over it and gorilla taped it on there too quiet it down a little bit cuz we didn't have any cheese. But you're going to want to do something to make this not as loud! Other than that it's amazing and my kid loves it. He doesn't even care that it's that loud, but we do.

This was for my great granddaughter she is 2 and she loves fire trucks so I ordered it for her.......she was so excited when it arrived we got the batteries in it and started it up and it was loud and it scared her, so now we are dealing with a love /hate relationship ......she still loves her fire truck but just really likes to look at it and tell everyone about it... Ha! Ha! just had to share with you I'm very sure eventually she'll love the siren and horn honking but for this two year old for now, she just likes looking at it and telling everyone about it!!! It's a great fire truck and the sounds are wonderful I highly recommend it!!!

I bought this for my almost 3 year old great niece for Christmas
I bought this for my almost 3 year old great niece for Christmas. It was a big hit with her, but not so much her parents. It's on the loud side. It rolls really well on tile and wood floors. It didn't move on carpet. The lights are bright and colorful. I showed the child how to turn it on once and she could do it herself after that. I like that the batteries are in a compartment that requires a screwdriver to remove a small screw in order to get to the compartment so it has to be done by an adult. I was very pleased with this purchase and. I highly recommend it.

not metal like I thought it was going to be
I wrote a review for Big Franks fire truck book and mentioned I had purchased a fire engine to kinda go with my little grand son's book, vice versus and forgot I got the little fire engine here on amazon. This is the fire engine! So ,I can say he loves this little fire engine and tries to sleep with it at night, if his Mommy will let him. It was , when he unwrapped it, a little smaller than I pictured it and it seemed a little cheaper made than I thought it was for the price. That is , it was plastic , not metal like I thought it was going to be. I guess I didn't read the description like I should? But ,now that I think about it,it was perfect for a little boy his size and age which is 3 yrs. old. He really can't hurt himself with a softer plastic truck and the thing lights up and delights the heck out of the little guy, so overall ,I'm happy if he's happy!! I'm glad it's NOT metal because he loves it so much he CAN sleep with it because it's plastic.

Fun toy...but very loud
I purchased this toy for my nephew who is obsessed with firetrucks. He absolutely loves it. But I should mention that the sirens are SO loud. There's no volume control on the truck, so while kids love the flashing lights and loud noises, it can get extremely annoying. My sister and brother in law put a piece of tape over the 'speakers' to control the siren sound and it seems to have worked. Aside from the noise, it's a great toy!
