This is an economy model - so if you expect a high end microscope you'll be disappointed. However, for an economy model, this is an exceptional product and a very reasonable price that has superb magnification. It has everything my kids needed to make a variety of slide for analysis. They have a blast, and learn as they go.

Great Buy...with Recommendations

Excellent buy. Although the kit itself is made very cheaply, the telescope is quite handy and kids can learn a variety of different types of things from using it! I'd recommend getting another set of prepared slides, however, and extra blank slides so that they can create their own 'experiences' and hypothesis.

Perfect Gift

I bought this for my 6-1/2 year-old grandson. I was afraid it might be too complicated but it was easy to use yet very well made. My grandson spent Christmas looking at slides with his dad. He was amazed by the slides it came with and even found other things to put under the microscope to look at. He had a great time while learning. He's still enjoying it very much - The perfect gift!

effective tool for visualizing many different specimen!

This is great for many different purposes! We actually purchased this to help with tracking fertility. It is a great inexpensive tool for couples who are interested in visualizing the presence of the male reproduction specimen. We were able to see a general shape of the specimen, as well as a general quantity. We could also see if there whether or not there was mobility. This is in no way a tool to replace the standard tests, but rather an aid for those who are curious and like to see for themselves. I know this is a very unusual use of the microscope in general, but just wanted to provide feedback for those who may be interested in purchasing the product for this purpose.

GREAT GIFT

I purchased this for my God Son who is 10 yo.....he loves it! Parents have told me he uses it non stop when he gets home from school....plus next time I saw him he ran up to me and gave me a hug saying...." best gift ever"! Nothing better then that.

Perfect for that little aspiring scientist.

My 9 year old Niece was asking for a microscope for her birthday and when I seen this one a lightening deal I decided to buy it and I am so happy that I did. This kit has everything that your young scientist needs! I mean it has everything, there are blank slides and labels, tweezers and "scapulas" small viles and so much more. It even includes shrimp eggs to hatch. How cool is that?!? I also picked up the Amscope 48 pc kids prepared slides. My niece was so excited about this present that at her birthday party she had all the kids taking turns looking at slides of onion skins and dragon fly wings and leaves. This is a great starter microscope for a little scientist and it is educational fun for the whole family. This makes a great way to get kids and adults off the electronics and learning about the world around them

Granddaughter loves it! It was everything she expected it to be. Lots of opportunity to research and learn, let the science projects begin.

Great for your tween scientist

Got this for a 9 yr old and she was thrilled! Must more grown up than a toy. Very easy to use and the storage case is a nice bonus! the light is bright enough to see the slides. There is a color wheel attached. Seems very sturdy and able to take a bit of abuse. There is a nice combination of items to make your own slides but be prepared to supervise. I'd recommend a good microscope book to go with it, so you can teach and learn while exploring the microscopic world.

Great purchase

Gift for 10 year son. He loves science! This is a GREAT microscope, especially for the pricing. Love that it comes with a carrying case and everything fits really well into it. Thanks is his first experience with a microscope and definitely needs adult supervision in the beginning.
