Great learning game!
My 5 year old LOVES this game. She made her way though the cards relatively easily until she got to the Hard cards. She had to do a few Very Easy cards along with an adult who talked it through before she really understood how it worked, but she she got it pretty quickly. Part of the fun and challenge is setting up the cards too! I felt like she was really using her brain to copy the cards and figure out the puzzle. She actually took this game to her Preschool to show her teachers because she was so excited about it. We ended up buying 2 more for the Preschool to have in their classrooms. A great game!

LOVE this game
I love this game I think more than my five year old, whom I bought it for! haha. It is a very fun game of trying to get the ice cream truck out of the traffic jams and is a great STEM toy for problem solving. We will be getting the next one up for 8 year olds and probably the adult ones too. I like that these are for one player only, so it's something you just work on yourself. Definitely recommend and already bought one for my nephew also.

Perfect for 5 year old
My 5 year old loves to play with a little help from her dad. We’ve had this for a little over a month and she can do the more difficult challenges now.

The Kids love this game.
This is a great game to play with in the car. We got this game for a 6 year old and this was perfect. I think if we would have gotten him the regular one it would have been too hard. I would highly recommend. It helps kids work on problem solving.

Great Independent, Quiet Game for 5+ Year Olds
This game is awesome. My five year old daughter loves independent logic games (i.e. Castle Logix), and this one did not disappoint. It takes a little adult guidance initially, just to get her brain thinking in a different way, but inevitably, she runs with it. She loves the different shapes/styles of cars and even likes meticulously setting up the board. This would make a great classroom activity as well as a quiet time game. It gives 5 as the minimum age in the box, and that seems appropriate to me. I don't think much younger kids would be able to complete too many cards. I even had to work at one of the most difficult cards for a little while (and I'm a logic-savvy adult).

Durable Game, Can Use Expansion Packs with This Version
Rush Hour Jr. was one of the best Christmas gifts my kids received. We've owned our set since our son was 4 (he's now 7) and the plastic set and accompanying cards have held up amazingly well. Our set even came with a small carrying bag so none of the pieces would get lost. The game principle is simple enough - place the pieces on the board to match the card, then move the pieces back and forth (no lifting up pieces) to allow your little ice cream truck to drive forward and escape the board. The car pieces and base are all very durable, the cards are about as durable as a set of playing cards, and all the answers are on the back of each puzzle card - just in case your little puzzler gets incredibly stumped. The puzzles themselves start off very easily and progressively get harder as you move along. I found that the "advanced cards" in RH Jr were about the same level as the "intermediate" cards on the original Rush Hour (see photo below). This brings me to the best part of this game - you don't have to purchase "Rush Hour" should you want to get new cards/puzzles for your kid. Because my kid had completed all of the RH Jr. cards, I purchased the Rush Hour Add-on Pack #2, and he was able to play the add on pack without any problem. The only difference is that some of the cards are different colors - the blue two square wide cars can be replaced with the police car which is also two squares wide and so forth. You won't find a blue three square wide truck in Rush Hour Jr, but you can sub the red three square wide firetruck instead. With each expansion pack, you get an additional car (in our case, the red convertible), so you can always add new cars to your game. One thing to note, if you have the original Rush Hour game, is that this set does not have the little drawer in base to store your cards. This was not a deal breaker for me, considering everything came in a carrying bag and the cards were in their own box. The biggest difference between this game and the original packaged game is the color of the cars and addition of the ice cream truck/police cars, and the playing cards are much simpler. If you have a younger kid, as we do, the game cards were much more in reach for them to complete, and the ice cream truck/police cars were more visually appealing. Overall, the entire family enjoys this game. The game is durable, there are chances to buy expansion packs should you lose pieces/cards or want a new challenge, and everything is very portable. We bring this game with us on vacation so the kids have something to do while in the car/airplane/hotel and they don't seem to get bored of it. This is definitely a game the entire family can play.

Excellent game for thinking toddlers
I love ThinkFun games and use them with my students to boost their cognitive function. Rush Hour is a hit with 4-5 year-olds who gain a lot of satisfaction figuring progressively more complex challenges. Highly recommended.

Sure To Please
My daughter, niece, nephews, and students all love the Rush Hour games. This is not a board game though. It's just like the original except there's an ice cream truck in place of the red car to remove. The cards for setup are easier.
