Works better then expected and very cheap

Engine noise went away on startup after 1,000 miles of use and that’s saying a lot because my engine has a messed up idle air control valve causing the engine to rev excessively on startup. Engine is a 2.5l ford ranger engine with 161,000 miles no oil consumption either.

Just as good as the more expensive stuff

I use this oil for my 2001 Honda CRV with a Bosch filter. I change my oil religiously every 5k miles. I've been using this oil for 20k miles now and it seems to work just as good as the more expensive stuff. I'll continue to buy as long as it's offered at this price and with Prime shipping!

Castrol is the best

All Castrol products are top notch. This particular product performs as needed for my vehicle. It has over 140,000 miles and engine-wise, I expect it to last that many more, due to the Castrol high quality products. If only they made an oil filter.

Great Price for a Great Oil - Recommended!

Received a great price for a great oil. But sadly since that great price I have only seen that price available to Prime Members. I have been using Castrol GTX since the 1980's and have always sworn by it being it has never let me down. I have never had an blow a seal, gasket, leak or burn oil while using Castrol GTX. And that is saying a lot as I use to be very hard on my vehicles, and can still be from time to time. One time I busted a hole in my radiator by accident in a parking lot over 15 miles from home. Having no tools or anything with me to fix the problem and being it was late night on a friday I had no choice. But to drive the car home as fast as I could before I lost all the radiator fluid and in turn over heating the car. Well long story short, the car made it home but was long out of antifreeze and the temperature gauge was buried in the red. Fearful for the engine I allowed the vehicle to sit over night to cool off. And the next day she started right up and was as good as always. I have always credited that moment to the fact I had Castrol GTX in the car and in turn is what saved the engine from the excessive heat. As I have not had the same luck other brand names of oil, as I have replaced two engines while using the brand name M. one. Due to my history with and without Castrol GTX motor oil, when I made my recent purchase of a high mileage Chevrolet Blazer 4x4 as a fun, toy around vehicle to haul things with and to play in the snow. Of course I drained the old motor oil out and gave her a fresh batch of Castrol GTX. I did the same for our other car as well. I would easily recommend this product to my friends and family. The oil arrived safely and in a timely manner. I was actually surprised they could ship motor oil as I figured that would be a hazard, but I guess the post office knows better. If you have a Prime Membership, you can almost always find Castrol GTX cheaper on Amazon than at any retail location even with a coupon or on sale. We were not paid nor discounted in any way, shape or form for giving our honest opinion here of this product as a review to assist others. We believe, as a family, it is important to give an honest and accurate review to assist others so they can make good purchasing decisions that can benefit them and their family. And not be lead to cheap, unwanted purchases that are scripted by advertisers to buy their products. castrol is makes rely good oil, would recomend my engine rely performs, i drove a 2007 camry and my car have 185 thousand miles on it and i drove it from schenectady ny to orlando florida non stop for 24 hours and drove back to ny non stop for another 24 hour and my car still run like new, but all in all toyota built camry to last too, but i guess the oil contribute towards the life of the engine

Great blend oil for high mileage autos

Purchased a 98 Blazer from original owner, 124,589 miles with a small rear main seal leak. Since using GTX 5-30 I've noticed a reduction in the oil leak, might be from the oils ability to help seal some gaskets based on the oils composition? I'm not a fan of those additives for "swelling seals".

Made my car purr quietly again.

Castrol is my go-to for oil changes. I have used it exclusively in my 2005 PT cruiser with happy results. After passing 80k miles, I decided to give the High Mileage version a try. Immediately after turning the car on after the oil change, the engine was noticeably quieter and drove a lot smoother. I have kept with this version of Castrol and my engine is still running smoothly. I like it enough that I plan on using it exclusively for my cruiser until I get a new car. Pros: * Created a noticeable improvement on my high mileage car over standard blends. * The price on Amazon is usually much cheaper then any local store. * Ships fast and I have never had a leaky bottle. Cons: * The price on Amazon can shift drastically from time to time, so just double check the price before purchase. Overall I recommend this product for higher mileage vehicles needing a blended oil.

Great price for this high-mileage synthetic blend oil. My 2005 GMC Envoy is driving great with this oil.
