cheap but quality

no pictures, but all i can say is Its an awesome grinder for the price, far better than some $30-75 grinders on the market - you can't go wrong. strong magnet sharp teeth holds an eighth of an ounce great kief screen curved bottom This thing is a kief magnet. I put a quarter in the ground-up bud chamber, shook it around some and got over 2.5 grams of kief the first quarter ounce i put through it. I was using a medium sized (1.6 inch) Chromium Crusher prior to this for years. The problem with that one was the screen was too large and plant matter would turn the kief slightly green. With the Golden Gate Grinder, it comes out whitish yellow. These people should invest in a pollen press because I would buy it with no hesitation, i'm sure the quality would be just as good as this grinder. That would be an ideal giftset. Simple as well as Brilliant Grinder

I have tried just a few grinder, acrylic, plastic, a old metal-coating/ metal grinder and this product Golden Gate herb grinder. During the short experience in the community, it seems that this purchase has my ultimate answer. The Golden Gate Grinders is a very fine made grinder with precision of its production and great design. In this short review, I will just focus on its design, material, ease to use and after-sale service of this product. - Design The design of this grinder is pretty standard, I would say. A 4-piece Aluminum herb grinder with the kief catcher is now everywhere in the market - but, this product just goes way beyond that. The top lid and lower inner grinding plates of the first two chambers are magnetically connected in a appropriate manner - not too strong make it difficult to take it off and, more importantly, not too weak to sell you stuff goes off. It is very important for a 2.5 inch metal grinder to hold its stuff even if you carelessly hold it upside down. There is also a concern for using metal grinder: whether the metal stuff of the grinder will fall out and fellow smoke may suffer from it. I have an experience from a old metal grinder such that the coating around the connecting surface on the first two chambers fall off a bit. So, I am aware of it. So does Golden Gate Grinder: they have smartly attached a rubber protection (I hope my photo can show it) on that particular surface make it no way to have a metal-to-metal fiction. Also, if we look carefully at the connecting part of the first two chamber, we can see that there is a curved like slot. I think this design also makes less friction: this is the reason why a customer doesn't like it as it holds some very very small stuff in the chamber (as shown in last picture of the right chamber). But, it's fine for me as it's very easy to take them out. I think this grinder promises me a smooth grinding as well as safe experience. My concern is free now! (I may update the review after 1 year of use to make sure this claim is valid) - Material Also, the Aluminum quality of the grinder seems so promising - so not much worries for falling off metal stuff and not being too heavy - very portable to me! Again, the robber on the fiction surface of first two chamber is a great design and after my several use with excessive strength, it still looks great. - Ease to use and Result I have taken several picture for the reference. I put around 1.5g vegetable into Golden Gate. After 5 rotation (I feel no pressure when grinder; after 5 rotation, I barely feel grinding), the veggie, shown in the third picture, are already very small, perfect for joint-rolling and bong. For Vapo, you may grind it a few more. The result is quite good - powder-like. - After-sale service Very keen customer service. Very satisfied!

If you found this in your local headshop you'd be spending $60 and it'd still be worth it.

Edit: STill Going strong after 3 years of frequent use. One of my best buys for this "hobby" yet. /Edit I purchased this to replace the Bell grinder for under 10 bucks that people seem to rave about, that grinder was cheaply made, poorly designed and all around sucked. That can't be said for the Golden Gate Grinder!! This thing is AWESOME. I've played with a lot of expensive grinders and this is just as good if not better than most of those for a third of the price (at least the 2.5" black grinder is under 20) Pros: Grinds the product perfectly, and easily. Assembles perfectly, not fidgeting to get it put back together. Very high quality, will last a long time. Chamber is deep. Mine came with 2 scrapers, I thought that was pretty cool. I like how minimal the grooves are for gripping on the grinding chamber while still providing excellent grip to get the job done. Cons: A replaceable screen would be cool, but that's not exactly a common thing. Just buy the damn thing. You're already looking if you're reading this review. I was weary on buying another one under 20 but this is truly a great grinder. If you found this in your local headshop you'd be spending 60 bucks easily and it'd still be worth it.

My first and hopefully last grinder

Never used a grinder before so after 50 years, I decided to try one of the "new-fangled" toys on the market. Very quick shipping. Watched a few videos and did a little reading about the grinder so when I got it, I was ready to try it. SUPER simple to use, all product ground consistently and it actually was fluffy which I had doubted from the description. I have nothing to compare this to, but I cannot imagine getting anything any easier to use, sturdily built, and with a lifetime warranty on the market for any amount. Meet all my expectations and then some. I highly recommend this product, and it is made in the great USA!

I didn't know it could be like this

When I was a young man, breaking up herb with your fingers was just how it was done. Sometimes the more particular among us would use scissors. In hindsight, the results were imperfect but we simply didn't know any better. I didn't notice just when it was that grinders came into common use. Suddenly, they were everywhere. Yet, I resisted. The "old ways" were good enough for me. Then I got curious. Now I've seen the light. Formerly lumpy and uneven, herb is now fluffy and consistent. Particularly with this grinder. This grinder. It's beautifully made with fine fit and finish. The magnetic cap is a clever, elegant touch. It's substantial but not heavy. At this modest price, I feel it is a bargain. I expect that you will too.

Fantastic Product, Fantastic Service!

Loved this grinder! Works just as good if not better than its competitors at a fraction of the price. My only qualms with it is the size of the chamber in the middle. I actually spoke with the distributor and he mentioned it is something they plan to work on. My other comment is on the company themselves. They are responsive, honest, and clearly care about the product and their consumers. Small businesses are important to local economies and service is important to keep them thriving. They do a phenomenal job with their service.

The best grinder out there!!

I absolutely love my Golden Gate Grinder!! I've been through quite a few grinders in my day and none of them even compare to my Golden Gate Grinder. The black one I ordered is sleek and nice looking, it grinds amazingly well, and the price is fantastic for such a great product. I've seen cheaply made grinders go for $20- $50. I've purchased cheaply made grinders for $20- $50. This is my favorite grinder and the only company I would buy a grinder from in the future. I already recommend Golden Gate Grinders to all my friends that are looking, but I'll recommend it to anyone reading this review. If you're looking for a high quality grinder, you should definitely order a Golden Gate Grinder. Just throwing this out there - I was in no way paid or incentivezed to write this review. I actually rarely write amazon reviews after purchasing products. But I love my grinder so much that I decided to to this.

FriEnts, make no mistake. This is the grinder you were looking for. Exquisitely well-made. Threads screw together like butter. Not a stray nick or chip; tip-top machining. Teeth grind to perfect consistency. PERFECT. Nice and fluffy. Regardless of moisture level. Nice deep chamber for ground herb, roomy pollen collector. Mine came with 2 scrapers. Hopefully that means at least one will not eventually be lost. In any case, even if I lost both scrapers I would still use no other grinder. Once I got it I was like "oh herb A can be in my old grinder and I'll just use herb B in this one" but once I used what was left in my old grinder I never used it again. True story. And neither will you.

Best $20 grinder out there.

A little bigger than I thought it would be but it grinds well. and the screen is nice. This review is a little short, especially considering how picky I am on this particular type of product. All in all, for $20, this is the BEST grinder you're ever going to buy. Great for beginners or anyone who's good grinder was broken or stolen as a replacement until you get another. *update* A year later, I moved to a weed legal state, so I left all of my old stuff back home so I needed another one. Still the best cheap grinder on the market. My second came superfast and is just as good, maybe a little better. It collects keef so fast I've only had this new one for a week and i have an almost full keef tray Honestly these guys could be selling these for $30-$35 so buy it while you can.

Simple

I bought this for marijuana. It works perfectly. I'm sure it would work on other hearbs just as well. The build quality is outstanding. Easy to use and clean. Grinds a uniform consistency every time. The only glitch I found is the chambers are easy to over tighten. Knerling on each section would help. This is a beautifully made product that will last a lifetime.
