Halleluyah, we found the bottle for our picky breastfed baby.
Going back to work, I had to find the right bottle for my son. We introduced the tommee tippees when he was a week old and he didn't really latch on to it. instead, the milk slowly would drip into his mouth, but right when he turned 2 months, he started fighting it. After trying several other bottles, including very expensive bottles that claim to be close to a breast, I decided to try this bottle. Alas, my picky almost 3 month son finally accepted this bottle. I wish we had this bottle for my older daughter who we couldn't find a bottle for, and she actually drank pumped milk from a medicine cup when i went back to work. However, my son latched pretty well off the bat. The nipple is very soft and flexible like a real nipple, and the base has texture that is very similar to the real areola. The base was soft enough that he could have similar motion to a real breast. He sucked it very similar to my own breast, and there were no nipple confusions. We paced fed with the slowest nipple as well, and he seemed full based on the recommended 1-1.5oz of hour he was not fed. My son did not have any difference in his gas, but he is burped regularly throughout his bottle feed. You can't find this type of bottle in local stores, and I'm glad that they have this on prime. This bottle is very affordable, and comfortable to hold. The price is very fair compared to other bottles made to be similar to the breast. Tips: Have dad or someone who is not mom give the bottle. They can smell, hear, see mama and thus will not take the bottle. Cradle baby like you are going to breastfeed. Make sure the nipple is touching the roof inside his mouth like a real nipple. Then press the bottle in to help him create that suction. We found that if my son didn't have a good suction and air was escaping, he wouldn't latch and suck well.

The Only Bottle My Exclusively Breastfed Baby Would Take
I exclusively breastfed my baby while on maternity leave and at the 2-month mark introduced her to the bottle my older 3 kids used. No luck. From that point on we tried Medela bottles, Evenflo Classic, Baby Brezza, Nuk Simply Natural, Dr. Brown Original, and Philips Avent bottles. She rejected every one time after time, attempt after attempt. She would starve herself when I was at work...up to 14 hours. That lasted for 1 month after I went back to work...that is...until I purchased these Lansinoh baby bottles!! I figured I was already using their nursing pads and breastmilk bags, maybe their bottles would work for my picky baby. I'm SO THANKFUL that the nipples are JUST RIGHT and this was the perfect storm for my baby to accept. For all parents going through the same struggle, every baby truly is different. Bite the bullet and buy one of each type of bottle until you get the one your baby won't reject. Good luck! BTW, my pediatrician said that a baby would drink from any bottle if they were hungry enough. I'm sure that's true but after she went 14 hours without anything in her tummy, I started coming home on my lunch break to nurse her and I knew I just HAD to find some bottle she would accept. I'm so glad we found these.

Dr. Brown's vs Avent Natural vs Kiinde vs Munchkin Latch vs Playtex AirVent vs Lansinoh Natural Wave
Our 6 week old usually received one bottle feed per night since birth (to bond with Daddy and preparation for when I leave for work). Then she went suddenly from good-with-any-bottle (Dr. Brown's and Philip Avent Natural) to refusing the bottle completely, so we went through a trials of new bottles to find if any other bottles would work. Ultimately, the Lansinoh was the winner for our little one. Dr. Brown's: This bottle was highly recommended from our friends and worked for feeding at the beginning. Only drawback was that it had many parts to clean. Then when our little one refused it, she temporarily accepted the bottle container with a Similac one-time-use nipple (1-2 days) but kept getting gassy (not anti-colic) and then refused it completely. Avent Natural: We got this bottle and nipple as a sample from a baby fair. It was very easy to clean and served its purpose. It is a harder tip nipple so we thought we needed to find a nipple that was softer when our little one started refusing it. Kiinde: We also this as a free sample and as a recommendation from a friend whose little one also went through a bottle-refusal phase. Our little one would take 1 ounce and then cry and refuse it. This "bottle" uses bags to feed and ideally keeps contaminates out and is easy to pump and store (came with universal pump adapters). Too bad our little one didn't like the nipple on this one. Munchkin Latch and Playtex AirVent: We found this at the BabiesRUs and after touching lots of nipples and measuring nipple tip lengths, we thought this one and the Playtex AirVent were softer and shorter nipples while allowing for stretching. These bottles were easy to clean. The first Munchkin Latch we got had a plastic piece at the bottom anti-colic device that was ripped (might be the reason for leaks in some of its reviews), so I would check the bottom of the bottle before purchasing the Munckin Latch. Playtex AirVent had a nice angle bent in the bottle to help with the feeding. Again, our little one took only 1 ounce from both bottles and then cried and refused them. Lansinoh Natural Wave (*WINNER*): After stalking Amazon reviews on many bottles, we decided to try this one since the nipple is soft and would stretch naturally like a breast nipple. Instantly, our little one accepted this bottle and finally drank more than 1 ounce. This bottle is only 4 pieces and easy to clean. The 8 oz bottles have the Size 3 nipples (medium flow) which may flow a bit fast for a baby that is used to breastfeeding (which I assume is slow flow). We ended up buying these 8 oz bottles and the Size 2 nipples (slow flow, there is no Size 1) and our little one has been doing fine ever since (thank goodness!).

LOVE these bottles, and I found an adapter to connect them to Medela pump!
I really like these bottles- love them! I started with Dr. Brown's bottles, which are fine, but have lots of parts to wash...AND I have a suspicion that my little one started popping his latch to a smaller portion because of those smaller nipples. I think the Lansinoh MOmma bottles are more realistic to the breast, and promote maintaining a good latch when direct-nursing. My son has reflux, and is stomach-sensitive. I didn't notice any difference when moving him from Brown's to Lansinoh, so I think they do a good job of letting the air out without going through the nipple into the baby's mouth. I'm so pleased I found these on accident! EXTRA INFO: Just thought I'd share that Joovy Boob Adapters work on these bottles! YES! I use Medela parts with a Spectra S2 pump (I didn't cut the tubing, but rather bought simple, cheap yellow Medela-to-spectra adapters, Maymom, on Amazon). Anyone using Medela Pump In Style Advanced (PISA) or Symphony can attach these bottles with the Joovy adapter. FYI, as I searched and searched to find this out. Happy mothering!

Finally a bottle my daughter will take!!!
I wanted to make sure I reviewed these to possibly help other struggling mothers. We introduced a bottle at 6 weeks to our baby girl and she refused it even though she had bottles the first week of her life she got used to the breast. We had the same problem with our first daughter so I figured she’d like the bottles she used... No. So my search started for bottles that best mimicked the breast. Brands we tried playtex, comotomo, tommy tippee, avent, mams, and a couple other uncommon ones. She didn’t latch with any. I about gave up spending money on all these bottles until I read about these and figured I would try one last time. Praise the lord she took the very first bottle!!!! Obviously every baby is different but I really like the shape of the nipple on these I feel like they mimick what the breast looks like after a baby has nursed and the texture feels different then others. The assembly is super easy, no frills which I like. I hope this helps other mothers who are going through the same thing.

What a relief!! like night and day!
I’m so happy and relieved to find a bottle that works for my baby! We are coming from the opposite end of exclusively pumping but wanting to transition to exclusive breastfeeding eventually. Previous to this, my baby was on the Dr. Browns. She is four months old but was born 3 months premature so her “adjusted age” is 6 weeks old. I was concerned about finding the right bottle that also a preemie would be good with. She learned on Dr. Browns because they have a preemie nipple but now that she’s on a size one or slow flow I decided to branch out to other options. I was noticing that she was gagging more on Dr. Browns nipple so after reading all the reviews I decided to go with Lansinoh. It seemed like the shortest nipple I could find on the market and I liked that it also resembles me the most. Drinking from the Lansinoh bottle for the first time was like night and day. Before, she would take forever to finish a bottle. Sometimes 30 minutes and she seemed to fuss more with the nipple. We had to angle it just right for her to latch sometimes and the end of the bottle was always the biggest struggle. She would often puke. After drinking for the first time with the Lansinoh bottle, the latch was more effortless, easy, and she finished a typical amount in less than 5 minutes! No struggles at the end. The only “downside” is that Dr. Browns still has the best vent system so you would have to burp baby more on the Lansinoh but that’s normal and part of the process anyway so it’s not a big dealbreaker for me. It’s been a struggle for her to gain weight or eat enough and after her hard start in life, every ounce gained is a celebration. I’m more confident that she’ll have an easier and funner time with Lansinoh and that this will be the more successful bottle to get her towards catch up growth goals. At the end of feeds, she now seems happier and more content.

Helped Bottle Rejection
My breastfed baby refuses to take a bottle and after trying 7 different bottles, this one has been the best. 1. Short nipple helped with gag reflex 2. Matte finish helped with texture issues 3. 3 piece system is easy to clean 4. Wide neck dries much quicker than others My suggestion for bottle rejection is there is no miracle bottle, find one your baby takes ok and stick with it! Switching bottles just caused more confusing and frustration for our little one!

Good for lip and tongue ties, easy to latch
My lip and tongue tied baby took these, I am very pleased. He would choke and sputter on other bottles due to a poor latch ability but we had to supplement with pumped milk because he also nursed very poorly and wasn't gaining. He would get an insane amount of tummy gas from other bottles (avent, tommee tippee, playtex natural) Each of my kids had been breast fed but each preferred a completely different bottle, the other brands listed worked great for my other kids. I didn't even know lansinoh made bottles until another mom who had a tongue tied baby told me. I'm so glad. My baby could latch with relative ease due to the smooth/continuous design of the nipple versus other brand bottles that have a defined nipple and base of the nipple, if that makes sense, aka the more 'breastlike' the nipple the harder it was for my baby to latch. Baby took 2 ounces with zero choking and little/normal gas discomfort afterwards. Thankfully we just got his ties resolved, but now he needs to learn how to latch/suck properly. These bottles should ease the transition when needed. Highly recommend to those who can't get baby to latch on the breast or to other typical bottle nipples.

Great for breastfed babies who have a hard time latching to a bottle!
Great for breastfed babies who have a hard time latching to a bottle! I work in a NICU where the gold standard is Dr. Brown’s (which is an amazing bottle with its own benefits). We used Dr. Brown’s for my first child (both of my children were full term) and it was perfect as he developed colic and Dr. Brown’s is definitely the best for colic. My first didn’t have any troubles with taking to the bottle and I was honestly skeptical about the reality of “nipple confusion” until my second came along. My second latched to the breast right away and very well, however he had a hard time with latching to the Dr. Brown’s bottles. I tried various techniques to help him such as: upright position, pacing, utilizing the rooting reflex, downward pressure on the tongue with the nipple, gentle support of the chin, not inserting the nipple too far. Nothing helped and after a month I started searching for a better bottle for him. I found this and the Como-tomo to have great reviews so I bought both. He took to the Lasinoh right away but was gagging and having a hard time latching onto the como-tomo bottle. He did well with the slow flow nipple for the lasinoh. We were using the preemie nipple for Dr. Brown’s and I’d say the slow flow nipple for Lasinoh is somewhere between the flow of the preemie and the Level 1 flow nipples for Dr. Brown’s. This is a life saver in general but also because now my husband and the grandparents can easily give him a bottle as well.

I couldn't express my happiness. I had made the poor thing cry a ...
I was at a loss with bottle feeding my 3 months old. I had tried Comotomo and Tommee Tippee without any success. The baby suckles and then starts playing with the teat. Since the neck of the teat is not strong enough, my baby manages to bend the teat left and right and eventually lose focus on feeding. I wanted something with a strong teat neck and though I'd give Lansinoh mOmma a try. The baby resisted initially, however, after about 3 failed attempts, she finally latched perfectly and suckled the entire bottle. I couldn't express my happiness. I had made the poor thing cry a lot thinking she just refuses the bottle. Finally I have a solution. It's been about a month now and there haven't been hiccups ever since the baby latched the first time. I understand that my experience cannot be generalized. Whoever is struggling out there with bottle feeding, don't give up. Try a couple of brands, be consistent with your training. See where the problem is and try to fix it. Good luck. And thanks Lansinoh for making this product!
