This OBD device paid for itself in less than a month. A check engine light was quickly determined to be related to recent work. Instead of taking the vehicle to the sevice center for a checkup and repair we used the device to reset the check engine light which has not reappeared saving a service fee. As there was no loss of performance even when the light was on we have determined (from the error code) that it was a spurious oil pressure reading. The phone or tablet interface is very easy to customize and there is plenty of performance and diagnostic data available for the user. We have also used the manifold pressure data to determine that an unusual noise during hard acceleration was not a pressure leak but an aging muffler. The fit is good and the device appears to be durable. We will see how long it lasts. It would be nice if there was a ScanTool source of codes that could be downloaded for specific vehicles as we had to go to the net to determine what the code was.

1. This is my first OBD experience with any device and I saved me over $300 in labor costs in the first 10 minutes. Works very well for diagnosing codes. Within 10 minutes of receiving this device, I was connected and found the error code to my problem. 2. Easy to use; I work in IT and am familiar with Bluetooth connections to my cell phone, and if you can connect a Bluetooth headset/speaker to your android phone then you can use this app. I saw previous reviewers say there are issues with connectivity, but from my 10+ years of IT experience, I can say this Bluetooth device works just like all other ones. You just need to know the procedure on how they work. 3. I do see that there are other devices out there that cost ~$20 about half the price of this one, however, I can attest to the fact that this is a well-made device and includes free apps that do everything I need. The fact this was built to last and can be left plugged in all the time is a huge bonus. 4. There is an airbag light flashing on my dash but no error codes were found. after looking into this some more I found that the problem is not due to OBDLink but a common issue with my car not displaying error codes on an airbag light.

EXACTLY as advertised!!! It was extremely easy to use! And the app is easy too! I'm not a tech type but was able to set this up & clear my dummy lights in a couple of minutes. I was able to understand why my dummy lights were on then clear them. FINALLY! It was minor stuff anyway. I have a 2001 Toyota 4Runner. Now I have this cool, versatile device and will never have to wonder why my dummy lights come on. It has several other cool features besides the diagnostics. This is a must have in my opinion! LOVE IT

So far I am really enjoying the amount of information I can see about the running condition of my Powerstroke Diesel. I combined this ScanTool with my Edge Insight and the Torque Pro App using an OBDII splitter. Diageng Right Angle OBD II 2 Y Splitter Cable 1'/30cm 1x Male and 2x Female J1962 Ports The connection seems fast, allowing me to see quickly which PIDs the truck is sending to the App. Pairing was simple, though I did have to re-pair at one point after moving wiring and securing below dash. Due to the amount vast number of gauges I can customize the app with, I find that the information is identical to that on the Edge Insight. I hope to get many years of service from the ScanTool and use the info to help maintain my diesel at peak performance.

Installed the app, synced it up and found out the company wants $10 per vehicle for advanced updates on specific models.. that's better than the $300 I paid for my out-dated/corded model OBD, which couldn't read transmission/ABS codes-- plus I got this as part of an Amazon flash sale at $35, so I can afford to fork out for a free-to-use app that updates regularly. I don't mind it- just wish the scanner port cover would close while it's plugged in.. it sticks out too far to be able to tuck away, so it can't stay stuck in for constant monitoring. This definitely helps clear codes as they pop up, so passengers don't worry.. like the loose gas cap triggering the engine light, which some people may mistake for "this engine could combust at any moment".. plus it makes the car burn more fuel with a check-engine light left on

I use this to read and clear codes on my 99 ford Taurus. As well as monitoring performance. Any car made after 2008 will require the more expensive red one. This one only reads OBD 2 software. In 2008 car manufactures started using OBD 3 which allows you to modify your performance settings as well as read codes, clear codes and monitor performance data. Anyone who is tired of mechanics getting the better of them, wanting to do their own work on cars with OBD 2 systems or just wants to keep a watchful eye on their car should get one of these. Some features will require some pretty specific knowledge such as reading mode $06 data but code reading and clearing can be done by anyone who can operate a smartphone. Remember the green model OBDLink LX will only read cars model 96 to 2008 and any reader may have trouble with Mercedes and Toyota cars as they use proprietary systems. For those you may have to buy a reader dedicated to those manufacturers. I personally have used this one on some older model Toyotas to read codes and clear them without trouble.

Very good. I also previously used the ScanTool 426101 OBDLink MX Bluetooth: Professional OBD-II Scan Tool for Android & Windows (not the Wifi version). Like the MX Bluetooth model, I leave the LX plugged into my vehicle's OBD-II underdash port all the time and it hasn't caused any noticeable battery drain when the vehicle it turned off and left for a couple of days. I use the OBDLink LX with the Torque Pro app and it works fine. I'm able to monitor a whole slew of functions on my running vehicle and can read and reset trouble codes should they occur. I haven't used the free OBDLink app or the free version of Torque. I find the OBDLink LX Bluetooth to be a more economical alternative to the slightly higher priced ScanTool 426101 OBDLink MX Bluetooth: Professional OBD-II Scan Tool for Android & Windows while retaining the same functionality except for some additional Ford and GM CAN Bus capability for the MX model.

Best economical OBDII scan tool I ever owned. It works on my 2012 VW GTI, on my father Saturn ION REDLINE, and I think it shoul work on any OBDII compliant car made after 1996. The application it's free, and very easy to use. It allows not only to read/clear MIL codes, but also read live sensor data, like RPM, BOOST, VACUM, THROTTLE POSITION, etc. etc.. For the price I don't think you can get any better. Also another cool fearure, this unit automatically goes in sleep mode when not connected to your smart phone, so it doesn't drain your car battery in case you like to leave it plug in all the time, like I am doing.

I just got it today 7/11/18 I have done extensive research on different Bluetooth obd tools and decided to go with this one, mainly for the extra gauges in my rsx, and I frequently use my other scanner to fix my car and other peoples cars, anyways, I am very pleased with this item, very easy to use, connects within about 5 seconds or so and stays connected no problems at all. I have tried various obd2 apps today and like I said no problems, seams accurate. Don’t waist your money on dash command if you are looking to watch your performance, it says my Acura rsx has 85 horsepower at full throttle lol. I know it has atleast 200. Anyways, highly recommend, good quality product exactly as described in description.

OMG I had this only six days and I found out problems that two other scan tools missed on my 2000 Saturn with 238,000 miles, It found MAF error . I will be testing this on three Mini Vans Chrysler 2008 w/ 124K miles next Hyundai Odyssey w/ over 300k and Toyota Sienna w/ over 200k with a customer self-inflicted problem !!! This has become my go to tool have someone else drive wile you watch the PC (windows 10) software key included sorry I didn't buy the $79 version come with much more bells and whistles..(Xmass) It shows Open or Closed loop on all this plus stores data for review later. I like to run my 7 mile loop with my laptop or a quick view with my Android Note4 to see if I fixed the problem.. Toyota Sienna a bad O2 censor (back of Engine) and two temperature sensitive VVT solenoids.. This van had 13 error codes also reset it many time.. with both LT & note4
