Fun for my 20 month old

I love this Melissa & Doug Jumbo wooden puzzle. The wooden knobs are the perfect size for my 20 month olds hands. This puzzle is sturdy and well built. He loves to bang the pieces together and they have held up great. The size of the pieces are just right. He can put them where they belong but it is still a little bit of a challenge so he is interested in the puzzle. The colors are bright and attractive. He loves to make the sound of the vehicles as he puts them in.

Great for Dexterity

These are great for learning vehicles and the sounds they make. You have to supply the sounds :-) These puzzles are really well made and will last through a 2 year old's toss around the room. The little handles one each puzzle piece are invaluable for little hands. At first it was a little difficult for our son to get the shapes in their corresponding holes. However, this actually helped with his manual dexterity and allowed us to work with him to explain how he needed to turn the pieces till they fit. After a short period of time, this was not an issue any longer and the pieces were going right into place.

Melissa & Doug Vehicles Jumbo Knob Wooden Puzzle

Both grandsons love the puzzles. One was 1 1/2 and the other was 10 months. They're a couple of months older and the older grandson is now understanding that these puzzle pieces have more use than making noise as he is rhythmic so the piano I bought for him for Christmas is part of his little one-man band. He now is understanding how a puzzle works. The puzzles were terrific, well made, and a great eye-hand-motor skill for little boys. The younger child will be one this week. He too has play and story time each night and is rapidly figuring out the puzzle idea. Love that they are so well made.
