Shipped as described. With this traditional style spool, you should wear gloves so you don't burn your fingers on the string when flying your kite.

So easy to hold and roll and unroll.
My three-year-old grandson, almost four, handed this spool could easily be taught to roll it in and out and his little hands grip tightly to both sides of the spool. Unlike the little handle thing that came with the kites. Also, the string is strong for flying our kite on the ocean beach on a "red," and "yellow," day! I didn't want to have them feel the disappointment of the kite getting lose and blowing away. It will be a lifelong memory! For the five-year-old as well.

Mighty fine string for kite flying
It's kite string. And it works well. But it also has that cool little spring clip thingie to make attaching it to a kit super easy. So yeah, recommended.

Good quality!
Its pretty good actually - I was worried that it would just be cheap duel spun thread, and its clearly not braided, but it does seem strong, and with a high quality swivel as well. There isn't really a downside, I purchased this vs the circle spool for my 5 year old daughters birthday, this seems much easier to manage.

Surprisingly good string for this price
Surprisingly good string for this price. Light and strong. We tested it in some quite high winds with a sizable kite and had no problem. There is a warning that the string is not tied onto the spool and that could be a problem the first time all of the line is played out. I suggest when the string is nearly all out on the first kite flying session that the remainder be unspooled onto the ground to get to the end to tie it off.

Highly recommended for all kites
There is plenty of kite string on the spool, and it holds up to a lot of force. I highly recommend getting this for any kite, as the line that comes with most kites is flimsy and prone to breakage. This will hold up to just about anything, and your kite will be soaring in the sky. The only issue is reeling back in all of that line once you get it extended out...but that's expected. It's a great purchase.

Good quality with an easy to use spindle.
There is really not a lot I can say about this except that it is very good quality, has plenty of strength and 500' is a good deal for the cost. This was purchased for my nephew and he uses it with his new kite and is very happy with it. I recommend this line for anyone who requires good quality.

String Not Attached
This is super long string. We've used it once so far, and although it says it's attached, the spool came with a paper that said the string was actually not attached to the spool, and to be careful when unraveling it the first time.

Definitely a better alternative to the regular kite spool
We've always used the typical cheap plastic hold with 1 hand spool that you have to unwrap the string from. This spool is a life changer for entry level kite flying. The loop on the end opens like a safety pin and clips onto your kite string. Only suggestion I have is that I wish it came with extra loop clips. Easy enough for a 3 year old to use.

Kids love them.
These are so easy for my small children to use. I like the long handle because I can stick them in the ground with a kite attached and go help my therapy kid with there’s and it doesn’t move.
